How does your game fit the theme?
In this game, purpose is to finish "Job" in workday. In order to finish tasks, player should play games to gain buffs, and then start the job. Player cant get started to his "Job" because of this, thus, just get started.

I like the idea and the implementation was certainly fun. The instructions could use more work. I'm certain I've read everything yet somehow I felt like I didn't retain anything and had to learn the game from scratch. That is not so bad because the sorting job was simple enough and the game controls could be picked up in a minute or so.

What tripped me up the most was that the shot always hit. It was so small and linear that I tried go move around to line my character up with my enemies.

Thank you for feedback!

I like the idea and the execution but the game's shooting game doesnt inclusive since you can pass the game without playing games so I suggest you make the fun-o-meter more inclusive and that if it gets empty then game gets over but I liked the idea and considering you had less time it is very well executed

All the best for updates :D

Cool idea for the game, though I think the Game's... Game (the arrow keys one) could use some more feedback or visuals that can better respresent what you're doing. That or maybe something a little bit more like moving up and down to shoot or what have you. But not too bad of a game concept at all, just needs some fleshing out, which if you get around to, I wish you the best of luck on that front and going forward

Interesting premise, I am not sure whether it is intentional, but you can pass the game without playing games, but that is no fun at all, which serves as interesting meta commentary if it's intentional. I like the helldiveresque mini-game of input commands but it's tad difficult to figure out a missinput, some audio or visual prompt would go a long way of helping players notice their mistakes. Overall, cool idea, but execution could use a little bit more polish.

Nice game! I relate alot with trying to get some work done but wanting to play videogames instead. Good job!

Hey, could you check out my game if you have some time, would really like some feedback.

Developer

Thank you, I'll try

I like the gamification of the old "Boss Key" into a game itself, nice idea.

The "typing"-game was nice, although i felt like somethings inputs for the ultimate were lost but this could also be a skill issue on my behalf.

Two things I noticed were unclear to me when i played through blind (I love to always skip the tutorial), but since these things were explained in the tutorial its fine.

Love to see some more polish over the GUI.

Interesting idea! ✨
I like the premise of you having to work while playing, unfortunately tho, the execution is quite lacking, from what I can tell the fun-o-meter doesn't really do much, you can just keep working with no consequence, I also think most of my concerns have already been expressed by most of the comments here, so I'll just leave it at that for now.

Developer

Thank you! I thought it's near impossible to beat the game without filling fun-o-meter, did you test it?

Submitted(+1)

Really fun idea. And it gets a new meta level, because I am playing the jam games at work currently :D

The game is also fun to play and you managed to make the "job" game actually boring, good job.
I just which I could ALTTAB back to the game.

A fun feature could be that the game is running in the background. So you have to be fast to switch back :)

Keep up the good work :)

I really love the concept of trying to game and do work at the same time :) The “game” was really fun and all the combos you had to do worked amazingly well, I just think that it would be better if they stayed consistent and changed only on leveling up instead of randomizing every move, as I tried to go from basic to ultimate, and it changed mid performance, I noticed that the fun-o-meter doesn’t effect the job quality that much, and speaking of it I wish it was on some sort of rythm based game, so you get bonus points if you allign the files perfectly… Overall a fun idea

Thank you for playing and for the comment

Really cool concept of having a job and fun meter loved the background music while doing the job, it really fits the vibe great job, if you dont mind giving my game a shot i would appreciate that.

I like the idea. I was confused on how to play the computer game at first, but then I realized the arrow keys were combos. I did notice that the Fun o Meter doesn't actually do anything if it hits zero, so there's no consequences to just doing your job. For the job minigame, you can click the file over even if it's only touching the gray zone a little bit, making it a very easy game. I would suggest making it so the entire folder has to be covered, or you lose the file. It would also be nice if there was a penalty to losing the file, so there's motivation not to miss one. Good job (ᵔᴥᵔ)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your precious comment. Actually, Fun-o-Meter will dictate how fast and frequent job files are dropping down, and increases rewards, while decreasing sending wrong file. My question is, how do you think we can communicate it better to prevent confusion?

Submitted(+1)

I see, I didn't even notice. As the fun o meter drops, you could add a visual filter like distortion and maybe slow down the music to draw the player's attention to it more. You could also make the job mini game go noticeably slower, then add a line like, "Ugh... I need something fun to pass the time," the first time it happens if you don't want to say it outright. Something along those lines (◕‿◕✿)

Developer

Thank you kindly

The idea itself was interesting, the graphics and music were good. I was confused on how to play the minigame, though.

its a pair of decent minigames that you have to switch between based on your resources, or on impulse when the boss comes.

The work minigame was boring, but thats almost the point? i dont think it shouldve been fun.

The game minigame was also kinda boring. There was no strategy, i just input the fire code again and again. It was also laggy enough that i didnt realise what i was doing for a while.

the UI was a bit rough around the edges, with what seemed to be default godot UI elements dotted around the place. They really hurt the overall look of the game.

I loved the idea! It honestly reminded me of my day job—trying to play LoL and suddenly getting random Zoom calls 😂.
I did feel like the minigame controls were a bit hard to manage though. Maybe with a bit more polish there, it’ll really shine. Looking forward to seeing where you take it!

The minigame could have been better but overall it was fun

Developer

Thank you, how can we improve minigame?

Submitted(+1)

I don't think the ultimate was working but that might have been a skill issue on my end. I don't think the utility does much since as far as I could tell it stuns you and the enemy. Overall I think the minigame could just be bigger but since it's for a game jam that makes sense. It's still really cool that you made the minigame and the overall game!

Nice work and interesting take on Just Get Started. You really captured that feeling when you are doing a boring job and want to do something fun instead, but you know that if you don't just get started you'll never finish.

I didnt understand at first how if fits the theme. But I really liked the game, fun way to create a "normal" job routine and greate mini games to do. Great job on your project!

great game, gameplay is a bit confusing

Developer

Thank you. Which parts you think were explained poorly, or are confusing?

Submitted(+1)

I didn't understand the objective so I just played the minigame until I lost, there was no reason for me to do the work or I haven't read anything that gives a reason to do so.

its fun! but the "Game" got me confused at first. Well done

Developer

Thank you. What would you suggest to prevent confusion?
