Interesting concept, super appealing character, animations & sounds. As said before some of the controls feel a bit too fast, but apart from that it's a really solid offering, great job!

Incredible concept, incredible execution. I agree with some of the other comments about the slippery movement and camera troubles, but this still controls really well for a jam game. This was a ton of fun!

Also, I found this secret little area in the level with 3 rockets over lava! I'm not sure if this was an intentional area or not, but it was super fun to get here, since it made me have to get to the final platform while conserving an extra rocket cartridge. If you develop a full version, I would love to see more spots like this!

Developer(+1)

thanks ! I'm so glad you got to find the secret little area, it was supposed to be a nice secret but i completely ran out of time last day, the post jam version will definitely fix that with a lot of other improvements.

Awesome, I'll be sure to check out the update when it releases!

I really like the cartridge idea. I think you could expand on that a lot. Like the low poly style as well. My only suggestion is to either add a run mechanic so you can walk or run or make the movement speed a little slower. I found it a little hard to control in some areas.

Nice puzzle platformer. Looking really good. Very cute robot. Also like the sound design.

I had some difficulties with the camera control. Especially in the first level, where the bot needs to go in the corner and the camera automatically zooms out and mover to the right. This forces the player to have to change their direction control based on a camera angel that you do not control at that moment. I found this very tricky. It got a bit better in subsequent levels.

Anyway, very impressive and fun game!

A nice puzzle platformer, really cute! and improvement I'd like to see is some dot in the center of the screen, to see where I'm aiming, especially on the rocket part. A great game!

Thank you for joining my stream! Here's a written review for you:

First, I will say that the robot is so damn cute, love the music, and sound effects are on point. The only thing I don't really like is how slippery he is.

Overall, the puzzles are super creative. I had a lot fun, definitely one of the best games I've played. Very good job!

Here's the clip of me playing your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2521174316

Thanks that's really nice, glad you enjoyed it !

Another incredibly cool platformer! I really liked this one, the puzzles were nice and intuitive, and the game feels pretty polished all around. The only thing that could use more work were the environments themselves, but I understand more than anyone level design is hard and the focus is always to make it playable and then maybe make it look good later. I really like the last gauntlet level, but I cannot tell if you're meant to approach it from several directions? Could just be a pure min-max / time save thing. The game also does a great job of introducing mechanics whenever it starts to feel like you've already mastered some, and focusing on them alongside stacking them.

Not sure what the median time is, but I beat it in 12 minutes, which sounds like a lot less time than I thought it was considering I got stumped on one of the earlier puzzles.

Developer

Thanks ! this is really nice, im glad you mention the environments cause i wish i had more time to flesh them out, im glad you think the puzzles were intuitive that was really my hope.

Such a creative and novel idea, and you used it in such a good way. I loved how intuitively every mechanic was introduced. I was never in doubt what I could do, even though no text was presented. So good! Without a doubt in my mind this game has the bones to become a full release. The added mechanic that some of the moves could be timed proves that there is more to explore than just "pick up a power and use it". But that in itself is enough for a full game I feel. And very good idea to focus them around movement, and not other stuff like combat. I do have some criticisms, but it is only because I think the game has so much potential.

First, the controls were a little too sharp. I think you could fit more intricate puzzles in if the movement was slower and the controls easier. Some of the puzzles were you had to pick up and use powers while in the air was very tricky.

Second, I would have liked the game to be less punishing. Dying and going back to start became frequent and a little tedious. Maybe when stepping in lava, you could lose some health and jump back on the platform as in old games like  Ratchet and Clank.

Lastly, it felt like the game couldn't quite decide what it wanted to be, but then settled into a puzzle platformer. I didn't care much for the boss fight in the early levels, and I think if you make a larger game, you should focus 100% on being a puzzle platformer.

Anyways, that's my thoughts. This is the longest comment I've left this jam, and it's because I feel like this game has huge potential. In any case, keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for this !  so much good insight here. i really like your first point cause i think the focus at those times shouldn't be how hard is to not slip off platforms but rather the puzzles themselves. i think having a forgiving respawn system would be good too cause those platforming sections are supposed to be more fun than like these perfect input or restart gauntlets. i definitely agree that the game is mostly a puzzle platformer but i think boss fights / enemy sections could actually break up the pace in interesting ways if they come later / are more foreshadowed / are better designed as puzzles. like i think the current sawblade roomba wasnt executed on well enough (camera doesnt track it so it becomes a camera challenge, button isn't obvious / has a small trigger, Roomba is too fast with too big a hitbox)

Nice 3d controlls and art, and really liked the mechanic, having the commands be disks that the robot picks up is genius.
Note: The hover animation is adorable

Pretty charming! Aside from some things you could add like BGM, effects or costumes for the bot (cuz everyone loves that) it's pretty fun, keep going :D

Really loved the game and since you asked for honest feedback on discord i will, the gameplay feels really smooth and the camera zoom out in some zones is on point also the enemies difficulty is not that hard but not that easy the level design in most of the game is really easy to understand and to navigate the art is the thing that needs the most improvement not the character or the enemies im talking about the textures and coins and probably ui, the sounds are really good too calm and peaceful really great game also i would love to see some dust particles when jumping landing flapping and moving and also loved the enemy it literally is the same one from mario galaxy which is my fav game of all time, overall great game and also if you polish the game and add the things you mentioned on discord and perhaps some boss fights and more enemies you can range this game easily from 3-5 dollars at least, it is a fair price for a great game really well done.

also if you dont mind giving my game a shot i would appreciate that.

Developer

Thanks for this! you brought up some great feedback, getting back in to improve the visual textures  and particle effects really excites me. glad you enjoyed the boss because i know i could make him a lot more interesting with more time.

The characters have such beautiful designs and the concept is super nice and fitting.
It is very sad that the camera movements are the worst ennemy in this game ;-;

Count on me to come back and finish the game once this is fixed !

Amazing game!

I really enjoyed the sense of progression—it’s all intuitive, with very little explanation needed. Everything just makes sense as you go.

The movement felt a bit slippery at times, but honestly, it’s a minor inconvenience.

What really blew me away was the sound design. Every action is backed up by perfectly synced audio—seriously, it’s wild how satisfying it feels!

Overall, a fantastic entry. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much! really appreciate this

Wow i love this game! the robot look so cute and the idea of the cards as a puzzle x moving game was amazing. i love the animations and sounds which fit the atmo very well. If I would give something to make "better" i would love to had the camera not glitch in the wall.. maybe with a collider or somehing to not see through and maybe some cute robo voices that would be sooo cute. Very great game!

Developer

aww Thanks! the idea about the cute robot voices is great i would love to add those. i was experimenting with the vocodex from fl studio and it works really well to turn ordinary sounds into robot voices.

This game is really fun! The mechanic to have the actions tied to cards that you consume is super unique and fits your character really well. It's impressive too how many levels you made in just 10 days!

Developer

appreciate this thank you ! im glad you like the main mechanic because i was a bit unsure about it when i was first prototyping. im glad i spent a little less time working on visual as my other jams because with the simple graphics i was able to spend more time making levels.

WOW! This is absolutely amazing! I love all the collectathon style games like Spyro back in the day.... and this game is absolutely great and could easily see it as full fledge game! The animations for hovering and flapping their little arms about was so good! The double/triple jumps were well done and I really liked the rocket! The only ability that didn't feel as great to me was the dash, but it was still fun overall collecting the cartridges to use the abilities to progress! I finished the whole game with a time of 12:01 and loved the whole thing, figuring out which cartidges to get and in what order and how to use them to get through that final room was awesome. Amazing amazing job!

Edit: Just read other reviews and you were supposed to fight (I assume jump on) the sawblade guy? I managed to get up to the platform with just the jump in the far right corner and by pass him! Oops lol!

Developer

thanks so much ! yea those collectathon were huge inspirations so im glad it hit for you. good point about the dash i would agree its my least favorite too.  thats so funny that you bypassed the enemy section lmao i did not expect that was possible

Submitted(+1)

how are people making mascot platformers in 10 days? no joke, cute graphics, solid controls, i love the cartridge system, I did only got to the big room with the many carts and the high pipe... but still, great gameplay up to that point and I can see this evolving  in to a full release (and if it does, let me know)

Developer

your too kind ! thanks seriously i appreciate this

The bot is absolutely adorable, really really impressive! Great choice to use the memory cards for the abilities, it feels so creative and fresh :) I don't know why, but I got fully jump scared by the sawblade robot though. Great how the abilities get introduced before getting thrown into that last level, time was 12:01!

Developer

thanks ! haha i actually wasnt intending for that section to be a jumpscare but it really became one lol

Submitted(+1)

level design was sick. That final level felt really good to play. I also love the design of the robot. The intro felt a little weird cause I just assumed we couldn't jump ever, but once you get the mechanic, it's super fun. If you ever do more with this it would be cool if there was an intro showing the bot losing his jump drive or something, just to explain why its like that. Also great model for the trash bot!

Developer

Thank you so much! yea id love to have a proper intro, the idea of the little trash bot losing his "memory cards" would be really important to the story
