Very unique game, I really like this theme of being consumed by love and how the character is forced down this path.

Some clever ideas with hidden stages by going backwards but then still trying to redirect the player back to the "main" path, I was able to go two screens left after finding a hidden platform but I couldn't figure out how to progress down that path anymore.(I might be too dumb.)

Some issues I had was "K" being jump took me hitting every key to find out and if you lose and go to restart through menus you begin with 0 life so you can only take 1 hit before you get game over, I ended up opening and closing the game just to get my life back.

You are free to edit the main page of your game during the voting submission so might be a good idea to put the controls there.

Anyway, great entry.

Thank you for liking it. You're right—there are indeed two paths, left and right. The left path includes additional bullet attacks, so it is definitely more difficult than the right. These bullets are made up of common phrases from Chinese-style education, such as “We’re doing this for your own good,” “Why are you so disobedient?” and “Why is it only you they pick on?” They represent the cost of defying this kind of parental “love.”

As for why HP doesn’t reset, it’s because I originally designed the game with four endings in mind—three of which are determined by the accumulation of “Humanity.” To make it easier to build up Humanity quickly, I chose not to reset the game data. However, it seems that HP ended up not being reset either.
