Really fun game! The game's difficulty makes each level all the more satisfying to complete. I really liked all the different hazards that appeared throughout the levels; it kept each level feeling very fresh! The minimalist graphics are simple yet really polished, and I especially appreciate how fast restarting levels is.
Great work!
Bordering on a rage game with this one... Pretty tight controls with a satisfying difficulty curve! Could really use some input buffering on the jump when you press it right before letting go of consume, though
Thanks for the feedback! Im going to update the game after the end of the jam with input buffering for the jump when letting go of consume. I hope you still had fun with the game!
I did, and I got to the end without any help and it felt really satisfying, I'm just a bit rusty on platformers :)
I actually loved the art style on this game honestly, it was actually pretty fun to play but I was skill issuing a lot when it came to eating and jumping, for some reason my mind kept telling me I could jump when eating when that was not the case LMAO but overall this was actually a fun game. I love having the restart option and even the option to skip levels, nice little touch for people like me who suck at games! Good job :)
Loved the art and style. It was also great that you had easy options for restart and level skip.
Fun! I'm a fan of the graphics and the sound design. It feels a bit too difficult to me personally but I get how hard it is to tune difficulty for everyone
Simple but super nice and efficient, I like the art but I feel the controls a bit furstrating due to the fact that consuming blocks the left/right movements. I would feel it would be more intuitive to stop consuming if left/right were pressed
This made me think minimalist Kirby. The simple shapes worked well. The easy restart and level skip options were a nice touch.
I really like how the level design compliments the idea that it takes time to consume the yellow cubes by making you look at the obstacles ahead and figure out what path and timing you need to take in order to win. The puzzles were also really well designed and the mechanics built on top of each other really well! Good job!
the arcade screen effect was really well done! i think you nailed a sweet spot with the difficulty scaling. great work and fun game!
Really great level design and absolutely loved the ability to bypass a level to see the content even if I am terrible at platformers. I found the colors hard to read though. The platforms specifically were too similar to the background I kept having to squint to see them. I appreciate how quick a restart happens too. Nice work!
Really enjoying this difficult and addictive game. Consuming the yellow cube is a small mechanic that fits well with the theme, but is fleshed out in a way that adds allot of depth. Each level is built extremely well to fit the mechanic. Definetly one of my favorites so far, Well done !
Very good game. The difficulty scaling is really good which is nesescary for most games but especially for platformers. It was kind of hard to control the player but I manage to reach the end. Great work!
Thanks for the feedback! You said that the player was hard to control but how was it hard to control was it the jump, the speed, etc...?
It was mostly on the left and right movement, so I guess the speed. Felt like it was low framerate.
Was it constant or was it just at some moments?
Well it was constant but just to be clear, now that I am trying it on a different pc the movement is actually very smooth. Maybe it was another issue and not an in game function. Hope this helps!
This was such a fun game! Played it right through to the end, even though it was difficult it was so in an addictive way, and while it was visually simple it nailed the pixel style. Also the audio was bopping
My only criticism would be some slightly clunky controls at times, otherwise perfect well done! :)
Thanks for playing and giving the feedback! I think the controls being clunky at times might be lag spikes, there might be an optimization issue that i missed.
Very nice idea, good job on the entry!
WOW! Great game!!! had lots of fun! Even though it was difficult, that's part of the fun! :)
Fun game! Very nice balance of difficulty; fun but still challenging. My only complaint is it doesn't have more levels!
What a cool game! The level-skip option is a lifesaver. Some of those harder stages were so frustrating but yet fun for those who have patience. One change I would make is for your game's description for the controls on Itch. It says W and D to move left and right, but your game said A and D to move left and right, so I was like, "That's weird?!"
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah i accidentally put W instead of A, thanks for the catch!
Very nice! Thanks for giving the 'level skip' option so noobs can see later levels :D This game is proof you don't need fancy graphics to make something enjoyable. You can have simple graphics and STILL deliver on a cohesive look.
One thing: consider higher contrast between the ground and background next time. I had difficulty telling where exactly I am going sometimes.
Man, I absolutely LOVE the gameplay flow of this game. The movement feels fantastic and it's very challenging in a good way. I really like games with simple ideas and good execution. Good job!
very difficult but in a good way
