Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
This game embraces the theme "Just Get Started" by making creation instant, simple, and fun.
No menus. No complex setup. You drag, drop, and press play , and you're immediately inside your own level.

You don’t need to plan. You don’t need to overthink.

Whether you're placing traps, coins, or enemies — you’re already designing a playable world.

The message is clear: just get started, and the fun will follow.

Neat game and I can see how it fits the theme! A lot of people already mentioned the bugs so I won't. :P

Some more feedback in the creation menu would make it more fun to use, like showing what block on the grid you're hovering over, some sound effects or particles when you select or place a piece, maybe tooltips that say what each piece does (though currently it's mostly obvious).

I appreciate how you can just press play and immediately start playing the level you set up. This has a lot of potential if you decide to keep going!

Congratulations on completing your first game jam!

Fun level editor/game, I really enjoyed making some cool maps! Amazing work for you're first game!

That was certainly unexpected, but it was a happy surprise! I never thought to see a level editor in a game jam, honestly never even considered anything other than a game but it was a pleasant surprise. It really fits the theme almost perfectly and it's a nice change of pace to just relax a bit and create my own game using your game haha! Great work and well done on the uniqueness factor!

I think mechanics of the editor are great, very easy to make something! Would be amazing once more features are added!

Level editor is a great take on the theme

I do wish it was a lil less laggy and maybe had some built in challenges/objectives

Other than that, would be nice to have a preview of what the assets look like instead of just the flat tiles

fun: level editor in a game jam? Very nice, though a bit laggy, which makes sense, it's a big project for a game jam

Presentation: I really like the art style, sound design is good as well, were they assets?

creativity: great idea, starting your own level, fits the theme perfectly, great work 👌

I know a lot of people have said this, but this is a really interesting surprise to see a level editor in a game jam. I really liked the idea of being able to export and import levels, but I couldn't seem to get it to work, even on the downloaded version. Maybe you did not have time to implement the export functionality? I'd also consider just using right click for erase, it's much easier than going back up to the top to select the eraser. As far as a few bugs, I noticed when you push space while playing, it spawns the scene an additional time, but the original is still playing behind it. Also the enemies aren't affected by gravity, if you put them in the air they just hang out haha!

It's super cool that you were able to make this work in such a short time, impressive, nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing it ! The sharing function does not work in web version due to bug, but in exe version it does work . It will copy the level as JSON text and you can then paste it in import button and play it. I recommend you to try it once again.

Regarding the space bug, yeah its an annoying bug and I will make sure to fix it next time :D

Submitted(+1)

Ahhhhh ok there wasn't an indication that it had copied so I didn't think to check that. I'll take another look :)

It's a nice idea and very creative, though the buttons are a little laggy and don't work very well...
Some bugs were that the jump didn't work very well sometimes, and that some objects were added out of nowhere when I clicked play(that doesn't happen when I am selecting the eraser).

Good job though, very different from other games, and definitely something quite big for your first game jam!

Very strong submission!

I bet you had the idea very fast and created a clean and structure backlog of tasks, to manage adding all necessary features into the game (engine).

Shows a lot of effort and good planning to pull this off in this short period of time.

Congratulation on finishing you very first game jam ever!

Making a playable game engine is a briliant way of adhereing to the gamejam's theme. A novel experience, that despite its bugs is quite fun and could be a useful tool for prototyping potential platoformer levels in the future.

Thanks for your kind words brother, consider rating it :D

i didn't even expected some on gonna make practically a game maker itself for the game jam really creative honestly i am not in these kind game much ( i would prefer making a actual game instead of playing a game where i am making the game ) but i do know some people enjoy that graphics are really cool i would have liked if sprite were their instead of  those different color boxes while making the level anyway good work kumar shab

Wow, you made a whole level editor, that's insane. Everything works and looks so smooth, great job!

Quite the challenge to make a level editor for your first gamejam, but I think you definitely succeeded! It might be nice to be able to see the items that you placed instead of the coloured block, but I'm genuinely very impressed, congrats on your first game jam!

Very impressed that you manage to create a level editor in such a short time!

However, to me, the platforming feels a little bit floaty. And I wish in the editor itself it shows the actual objects you are placing, instead of abstract shapes.

Overall pretty neat project though.

A level editor in 10 days is very impressive! Also, a very unique take on the theme, really like it.

Submitted(+1)

A custom playable level editor under 10 days? And this is your first jam! Great job!

Quite unlike everything else in this jam, which is appreciated. Great work.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, great work, I don't even know how you managed to do that in 10 days!

Loved to create levels fast and test them, really a great idea!

Submitted(+1)

wow, was not expecting something like this for a jam. I really wonder how you managed to make this. It's very easy to get started and you get it immediately basically. Very unique and there are many ways to work on this. I'll try to say something other's have not yet, and that is I think if you wanted to you could make it so there are different missions or criteria that you have to complete. Like optional challenges of creathing levels with a set amount of enemis or something. JNust a thought. Good job man esp since this is youur first game jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks man and your idea is very unique , I am hearing it for first time and I would surely implement that in next few updates :)

This must have been fun to make. I think level editors are such a cool tool. It's something you can use in future projects also with some tweaking, you can make full levels in just a few moments. I would like to see this worked on more. I would also work on the character controller a bit. I did get a game over if I stood still to long... not sure what that was about. But all in all, I think this is a very creative project.

Thanks for the appreciation buddy ! :)
