Yes - I'm new to game jams!
How does your game fit the theme?
The player does not have time to be careful and deliberate with their base maintenance during the days. They'll have to just get started!

Very nice game! The game loop is nicely done and the presentation works well. Good job!
Great game! Love that dark vibe! The game play is fun and quickly become challenging, well done!
Great concept! Defending the house from the rats, which break everything down in their path. Great idea with the different items which you can buy, paying with rat cadavers. I think that's a very cool idea. Keep going on that one! This is gonna be great!
Love! Really satisfying running around killing rats.haha. Nice visuals, nice story. Really really well done. Not sure if it was just something on my side, but would have really liked to have been able to full screen this as everything felt a little bit small but wasn't able to find an option to. Really good submission
Damn, that stranger wasn't lying when he said the days are never long enough.
Super moody and atmospheric, even the title screen, love the fog of war vision effect and how placing more walls protects you, but also obstructs your vision.
This game got me locked in for quite awhile! Really good balance on the morning and night phase and the difficulty curve does not feel too high. I made it to night 19! Good job!
Nice work! Gets pretty tough by night 19! Thanks a bunch for playing and commenting!
Loved the design! Loved the simple style! Fellow rat friends? (╥ _ ╥). Everything was satisfying; the smoothness of the game, the visuals, the effects, the music! It gets more and more challenging throughout the nights. Playthrough lasted 17 nights with 1 food left and it was thrilling to create some soft of strategy just to keep that 1 food intact! 10/10 rat game
Rat games are the best! Thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback! Solid effort, making it 17 nights! It gets a bit crazy after a while!
the game idea is fun and addictive . my only problem is some rat just running into walls and doing nothing afterward. The VFX is well made making killing the rats satsifying.
This game gives me project zomboid vibes, I really enjoyed it and music is nice too
Simple but addictive loop, though I almost wish there was some kind of endgame or time limit
Who knew smashing rats was so fun? Love the music and overall vibe
Thank you for your kind words!
Some sort of boss-encounter would definitely be on the list of things to add
NGL, I had fun time playing it!
Really appreciate you giving it a go, and glad you had fun!
Really fun! Not sure how long I played but I got to night 15 and only stopped because I was getting a bit tired. I was going for the "let them come to me" approach and building using grates and shrapnels. At that point I wasn't struggling to get enough money to keep building. I really enjoy the upgrades and constant get-money-buy-defenses loop there! I think it would be even better with further upgrades to yourself or defenses. Also love the visual effects and music!
Thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback! I honestly struggled alot to find a balance between impossibly difficult and too easy. I definitely wouldve loved to add even more expensive things to buy once those cadavers really start adding up in the late game. I think around night 15 is when the amount of rats maxes out, so well done for getting that far :D
"Dem dirty rats!" =3
Interesting game. I liked the Light 2D/ Light Occluder effect.
Thank you for playing and leaving feedback!
A really good game, it gives a really good first impression with the intro and the gameplay loop is fun. There are some things to improve like a radius to detect how much space the lanterns will illuminate would be nice and maybe some other purchasable items to automate rat killing but this game was a really good one!
Thank you very much for trying it out and leaving such great feedback! Your lantern idea is excellent. Along the development I definitely forgot that a new player wouldn't really know how large the radius is.
Cool game! I liked the art style as well as the fact that rats carried out my food (fun detail). However, I do think the game get a bit repetitive at times (could be that I have never played base games…). But do not get me wrong, cool game! Hope you continue making games, glhf!
Thank you for playing and giving great feedback! I completely agree with your critique! If I were to add more things to the game post-jam, more varied ways to kill the invaders would be up there on the list :) I'll make sure to check your game out soon
Really lovely art design and mood. The music fits the vibe well, and I love the environment in general.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
fun: cool base defense, a bit slow though
Presentation: I like the top-view art style, and the sound effects work well
Creativity: creative idea, I don't feel like it fits the theme though
I agree that it definitely is a little on the slow side the first few nights, especially for a game jam submission. Thank you so much for trying it out and leaving feedback!
This was a lot of fun, I made it all the way to night 14! All I had to do was give up silly things like walls or owning more than one piece of food :)
Them's just luxuries you can't afford in Rat Country... Still, 14 nights is longer than most make it.
Thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback!
Cool base defense game.
Liked the wall mechanic but I was hoping for some automated defense of some sort as you progress, kill each creature with a swing got a bit repetitive.
Thank you for the feedback! There is an option to get explosive traps for 75 cadavers, hidden away in the Misc tab of the shop. Pretty basic as far as automated defenses go, but it'll let you rest your shovel swingin' arm for a moment
This is really fun! I loved everything about this game, the design, the atmosphere, the music, the difficulty, it all blended together amazingly. The mechanics were pretty fun too! Great work!
