Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
Often a goal may seem so large it's insurmountable, but if you have it in yourself to start, you can see it through.

The game feels really nice to play, actually feels like im battling a giant monster, the part that you have to climb the boss monster reminded me of 7-4 in ULTRAKILL, the only problem I got with this is that I lost out of nowhere and then the game restarted completely lmao, maybe implementing something like a countdown or something to let the player know it has a time limit to it! Great work nonetheless! Congrats on finishing your first gamejam!

A good first game, the swapping between levels is good and the crab castle thing is excellent. I wouldn't have multiple falling debris at the same time, but stagger them and have them fall more often. Playtesting should reveal a good mix. I'm not sure about having the cannon levels so distant from each other. But that may just be me. And the it could have a bit more weight to it other than a small burst and the health bar going down.

Could be refined into a great game.

I'm a bit conflicted, I love the kaiju battling loop and it's incredibly well done, however I didn't appreciated the platforming phase as much finding it a little to hard. However I'm not considering difficulty in the ratings since my group didn't have much time for balancing either.  This game split for two player could be mazing, with one doing the kaiju battle and the other climbing the castle.

Also the crab looks amazing.

the multiplayer idea actually sounds so cool...
and thanks for the compliment on the art of the crab! glad you liked it!

Just played your game and had a good time with it! I like the visuals and the game feels very snappy to play. I didn't expect the 2nd part of the game being completely different to the start but it flows pretty nicely. I will say my biggest critique is the fail completely restarts the game, and I'd usually be fine with that but it didn't feel like there was much notice of it, I didn't really know in the moment why it happened so I think maybe a better indicator or something would work well. Really great direction and the game's art and feel are great. Good job!

yeah the issue with clarity on why it ends is something i noticed after the jam ended, mainly due to the hp bar of the last wall getting hidden under the little crab sprite, thanks so much for the feedback, i'm glad you enjoyed it!
