The battle animation is hilarious, love it. Would be cool to have random events in the game !

Newbie?
Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.
How does your game fit the theme?
A major gameplay mechanic is to decide when the dungeon is ready to be raided - basically deciding when to get started with the raid.

Had a lot of fun with this, the "push your luck" mechanic and being able to create the actual level yourself reminded me a bit of Loop Hero, definitely good potential to scale into a full game. As Kieran said it needs some balance tweaking but the core gameplay loop is a great hook
Once I got the hang of it, I saw that this concept has some serious potential! The mix of being able to choose what goes in your dungeon but not where creates the perfect blend of agency for the player. If they're in a bad position, they only have themselves to blame. I did run into a bug a couple times after dying where the buttons stopped working and I had to reload, but it didn't happen consistently, so I don't know what causes it. I think if you also included a way for the player to influence the layout of the map tiles it would be all the better for it, because it's currently possible to get soft locked if you get too many dungeon ghosts in bad spots, as pictured. That and some balancing changes to the damage and health of some enemies would make this a top-notch strategy game!
I like the concept! I'm not much of a strategy player so this was a little hard for me lol but I do like how it ties to the theme by being able to set up your stage then starting out on it. Gives me a lot of sense of power by being able to control it and the whole risk vs reward thing.
A little rough but max points for creativity. It broke for me after my third death in level 2, the buttons stopped working
I absolutely love the concept of this game and the presentation, and it's my favourite game of the jam so far based on that alone! As for the gameplay, it's definitely fun, but the balancing is way off. Most monsters give less gold than it costs to reject them, makes it feel like a punishment rather than a risk, and the random spawn locations makes it all very swingy - sometimes it's a clean shot to the key and chest, other times you get boxed in at spawn by a troll and a wizard.
Gripes aside, I still really enjoyed my time playing this and want to see more games that take this idea and run with it.
Thanks :-) yes I had to rush so the balance is off (it can also get too easy if at some point you get enough gold), I had some ideas to make RNG a bit less crucial (like giving an approximate location of where the object is going to spawn before you accept or deny it), but had not time :( anyway I might continue developing this one, I think it has potential. If you liked it you might like this game I made for a previous jam.
