Stardew Valley, loved that you could collide with the plants, that is a cute little detail. Didnt played it all as I read that it would take 3 hours but all I can say is that I now have some experience in farming.

fun: love me a Stardew Valley vibe, the farming mechanic was good and fun, really good

Presentation: The art style is really good, the sound design as well, though itis missing walking animation. Did you draw them yourself?

creativity: love the idea, fitst he theme well, adding to the farm mechanic was good, great work

Developer

Yeah! Everything you see in the game was made by the two of us! I'm glad you liked it

That's some great teamwork, keep up the hard work, and one day you will make a great full game 💪 I'd love for you to try my game as well, I'm sure you're gonna like it😁

There's a lot to say here, first the game fits the theme perfectly well since you're a farmer that (apparently lost their memories) and has to start over their fair without remembering how to take care of each plant. This is such a great concept and in a full game can be explored very well (if you put other NPCs it would be interesting having dialogues about their past and their relationships).

The mechanics are Stardew Valley BUT with the addition that each plant requires way more care, instead of just watering them you have 3 other options (besides the singing one, i couldn't figure out what the other two were, I'm interested in what would be the names of the actions). And there was lots and lots of try and error which may seen more frustrating but it makes so so much more interesting. Even making you think you're doing everything perfectly well and then the game strikes you with something new (like the flower killing the other while you're [gathering?? i forgot the word, picking it, farming it],,, i almost cried😭). So it's like Stardew Valley but you made the farming of it so much more interesting and that's awesome.

I was a little confused about how to gather more library point tho, for some plants it was easy to get a lot but for others i could barely get it, even interacting with them didn't do much compared to others, so my only more negative feedback would be maybe making more clear how to get points and depending maybe making it more easier to get.

This game is my top 1 of games I wish to play for a full version, it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL so please consider continuing on it, I would love playing more of it with it having more things to do in the town, more people to talk to, etc etc.

10000/10, the art and music is beautiful too i forgot to mention!

Thank you so much for playing the game and leaving such a long, thoughtful review. The other two care options were fertilizer and pruning (but to be honest those were definitely left aside some as I ran out of time to give them visuals). I definitely plan on continuing this project so your kind words mean a lot, I'll make sure you're the first to know when I have an update coming up.

I tried playing this one a couple of times now. The gameplay is a nice start to a farming sim. I like the art as well. As for the gameplay, it feels empty and not enough to do. Framing isn't bad, but I feel it's not enough to make me play for longer than a few minutes at a time. I think with more time and features, this could be a great game. The character designs make me want to know about the small world you have going on. I like character development, so getting to know your town more would be awesome.

If this game didn't have a load save system, I feel I couldn't give it a proper rating. The amount of plants you were able to get in here is extremely nice. The music flows well with your world. This is a wonderful game.

Developer

Yeah, I get that! For the jam I really wanted to emphasize the core gameplay loop surrounding the plants, so filling out the game with more things outside them wasn't a high priority. As a full game I plan to add more content to really flesh out the world apart from the plants (my design document is filling up FAST).

Fire game, stardew valley games go brrrr

Wow this is an extremely well made game, even if it's just a bit rough around the edges. It's incredibly impressive that you can managed to pull it off in mere 10 days!

While I'm not a fan of the main theme, I really like the theme from the cat shopkeeper character.

All the different plants and their needs are nice to discovered, but I hope to see some sort of helper system that makes the process somewhat less tedious or familiarize the players better.

Playing it again :D

This game is so cool! I love the quality of life for doing the actions; i dont have to wait the animation for the soil to be tilled in order to till other soil. Having to multitask and taking care of different types of plants was also fun! Going back and rereading on how to take care for each plants made me feel like a real botanist lol. Also love the fact that some plants have variants. Havent unlocked all the study tips yet, but will be coming back for more! Great job!

I played this game for a few hours, and can definitely see myself spending even more on it. xD

I love the aspect of learning about the different plants and what they like and don't like! Seeing them be affected by different things (and learning why from the library afterwards) was genuinely interesting. Some plants seemed to stop giving points to unlock all the facts about them at some point unfortunatly, so I didn't get to see everything. Would love to see this as a finalized game on steam someday! Good luck!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! I definitely plan on trying to get it on steam one day so be on the lookout!

That is a fascinating bug, I would love to know a bit more if possible. One possibility I'm aware of is that points cap out at 99 (something I did early as a means of not having those numbers scale indefinitely, but according to feed back I will be raising the cap and tweaking the knowledge system overall). Were normal actions (like inspecting the dead or harvesting crops) simply not giving points?

The name hooked me in the gameplay kept me here, really cozy game. I think this has potential, keep working on it

Oh and well if you have the time give my game a spin too, would love some feedback

I loved the game, it gave me stardew valley vibes. it was just great, from art design, to sound design and even the story! Kinda unbelievable that you managed to do this this short period, but take it as a great compliment! 5/5 stars easy. Also, would you mind giving our game a look too?

i've been playing this for a while and can say that is quite enjoyable

i love the music too, did u also make it?

Developer (1 edit)

All the music is made by Owen or JUST0WEN  here on itch!

This is astonishingly feature complete given the development time frame. Having a short and simple gameplay loop that iterates many times over the course of a playthrough is a fantastic way to coax extra time out of a project, but you run the risk of making something overly repetitive or tedious. This project did not suffer from that. Having to piece together the mechanics of each crop kept things engaging all the way through. It was really cool trying to intuit how some of them worked after just seeing what their names were and then actually getting results. I also really enjoyed some of the cool implementations like the queue that forms when interacting with several plots in a row and the neat rotating clock in the ui. Excellent work all-round.

I just remembered i didn't rate this game yep, oops! Theres so much here, and it feels like alot of passion went into it! This genre of game might not be for me, but to many it is! So creative and wonderful artwork. Well done!

Awesome work with integreating all the mechaincs. I was confused about the time mechanics at first, but as I continued the ways it was used were intereting to work through! The beginning was a bit slow, but thats just often how these type of games are. Super interesting!

Love the ideas here! I've always wanted to do something similar with a potion brewing concept, mixing ingredients with trial and error until you get it. Wonderful inspiration, love it!!

Developer(+1)

Funny you mention that, potions were originally something I really wanted in the project (and I will put in when I continue working on it). Specifically things like sleep potions or speed potions to use on the plants or to make npc quest related potions to really push players to try a bit of everything.

A really interesting take on the genre! I loove the portraits too! I would've just make the world less big, for convenience matter?  It really is just nit-picking though, I was really pleasantly surprised when I realised it was far more than a simple farm game, and the ambiance really speaked to me! good job!

Very cool - what stood out the most I think is the soundtrack, it fits well and the transitions are very nice.
