How does your game fit the theme?
"Wing it" is an informal idiom meaning to do something without prior preparation or planning; to improvise.
Like every bird at one point you need to jump and learn quick!

i loved flying around the map :)
Thanks!
I love the way you turned winging it into a game, both in a literal and thematic sense. The artstyle looks amazing and it genuinely does feel like something I'd find a N64 cartridge, there's a certain nostalgic feel to it. The progression felt well paced and I enjoyed flying around, though there were a few times where small movements in my mouse would result in the camera whipping around a lot more than I intended though that might just be a browser thing. I could definitely see this being developed into a full game with unique levels, overall amazing job and it's very fun :D
Thank you for the kind words!
There are some pacing and design improvements that we would like to apply (like hints that there are more (4) abilities to discover and adding tutorial with 'RMB' free camera keybind so the player can look around)
Yes, the camera issue is caused by the browser.
There is a downloadable version so maybe that would improve the experience!
Ooh the artstyle here is amazing and the flying mechanic is both unique and fun! The sound and visual effects are really well done. That said, the movement felt a bit too stiff for me, i think adding some resistance when turning could really help game feel. I also had some issues with the camera; since the game was laggy, the camera would swing either too fast or too slow regardless of my mouse sensitivity. Still, I enjoyed my time with it overall. Great work!
Hey
Thanks for playing!
Maybe addint a little resistance when turning with high speed could add to the experience - that is something that would need to be tested.
Camera swinging is a browser issue - I reccomend using a dwonloadable build - maybe this way your time with the game would be even more enjoyable!
Presentation looks amazing! ✨
Unfortunately though, I struggle to load this game on my brave browser, and when I do the game would just freeze or lag so much when looking at the trees, sadly couldn't play it, I hope there is a download option or a better browser experience. Can't say much feedback cause I couldn't play it, I'll leave it at that.
Yeah, we definitely should’ve uploaded a downloadable PC version of the game. That’s a major oversight on our part.
[Edit]:
You can now try the downloadable version!
Ah yes i saw your Map showcase in discord , it was very refreshing , and gliding around in the sky was really satisfying. The menu is also very charming.
Thank you very much!
Fun: the flying is smooth, really enjoyed it
Presentation: really like the art style and sound effects, the main menu was good as well, the music was a bit anoyying though
creativity: great idea, starting to fly, fits the theme well
Thanks for playing!
Luckily, there is an option to turn down the music volume—phew! 😅
But in all seriousness, we’re thrilled to share that a new composer is working on an exciting original soundtrack for the game!
We’re really glad you enjoyed it😄
I did turn down the music 😅 Were these 3d models, or did you make them? Because I really liked them, they are so well-made. Also, I'd love for you to try my game, I'm sure you're gonna love it😁
Most of the models are from Unity asset store but the bird an its animations are done by our 3D artist.
I really enjoyed it! Really awesome idea that has a great take on the theme. I love the visuals, sound and controls. It ran smooth for me with minimal issues.
My problem with the focus was, everytime I got a tutorial message and I clicked it, the cursor was free until I clicked again (probably just browser issues) Not sure if you could press a button to continue (didn't try to) would probably work better for browser focus issues in the future
After I played the tutorial if I select the Wing It mode it still had tutorials, selecting Continue did fix this issue though, not sure if the ending always pops up the message that I should try speedrunning it in Wing it mode if I am already in Wing It mode?
I really like your game and it was a pleasure playing it!
Yeah, unfortunately the focus issue is caused by the browser itself—clicking on the game window is necessary to enable proper aiming. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Regarding the tutorial pop-up in WingIt mode... great catch! The code mistakenly used "OR" instead of "AND", so the tutorial appears every time you pick the 1st orb 😅
Not entirely sure what you meant by the “Continue” button—were you referring to the tutorial screen or the main menu?
As for the game finish message... yep, that’s the only one we managed to implement. 😅 We meant to include a timer too, but ironically ran out of time for that!
Thank you so much for playing! We really appreciate the feedback and hope to address all the issues mentioned in the comments to improve the game post-jam.
Great submission!
I see we had a very similiar approach concerning the theme, but parted at the dimension of the game. I jumped right into the wing-it mode and finished on the third attempt!
Funnily we also share the issue, already mentioned by other players in the comments, that the respawn loop could be improved.
But I really enjoyed soaring through the beautiful visuals of the game...
Last question, where is the speedrun mode ?
Thanks for playing!
Haha, yeah... that menu definitely needs an improvement 😅
Glad you had fun soaring through the level and soaking in the visuals!
Answer: Sadly, We didn’t have time to implement it—but third-party timers are totally allowed! 😛
I'll have to check out what you and your team created. I can only imagine it's awesome, especially since we clearly share a similar vibe! 😉
This game looks really good, visually! Would have like the respawn to be quick instead of sending you back to the main menu but I think it's a good idea for a game :>
Thank you!
Respawn functionality is definitely high on our list of improvements.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to implement it as well as we’d hoped.
Pretty game! Unfortunately at the price of my fps. Mechanics wise, turning seemed to be momentum independent, and I think it might feel better if the faster you were going the harder it was to turn? Or perhaps turning would feel fine if my fps was high enough. Thought gameplay was shallow at first until I discovered all the abilities (and that they were kept when you died). After I got all the abilities though making it to the crown wasn't too challenging. Perhaps you should have to earn your abilities back after dying? Would add some complexity to the game in terms of finding the optimal path.
Creating a fully optimized 3D "open-world" game in just 10 days is no easy feat—so yeah, a few frames had to be sacrificed 😅
From my experience (and I’ve done this quite a lot), it’s best to keep game jam entries on the easier side. Players come with a wide range of skill levels, and the goal of this game was always about reaching the Crown after unlocking all the abilities—not making that journey overly difficult. Once you've unlock all of them, there’s really nothing more you need to do.
But you strike me as a bit of a competitive player 😏 So go ahead and hit that New Game button, crank up WingIt mode whenever you stumble—and if you're truly seeking a challenge, try discovering the optimal path. (Hint: It’s possible to reach it with just the first ability unlocked!)
Good luck on the hunt 🕵️♂️🏆
I can see a lot of effort went into this! I went straight to the winged it mode, had a bit of a mishap at the start where I went under the water but didn't die but couldn't get back up either so I had to restart. But after that I got a hang of the game and it was pretty fun flying around, ignoring the slight issue with turning, I assume that's just a side effect of it running on a web app like that. I do wish the boosters were a bit more clear of their direction since I would fly in the wrong way and it would kill all my momentum. Great jam game overall!
Thanks for playing! 😊
Yeah... for some reason, the water collider is too small. The real mystery, though, is why the sand underneath doesn’t count as ground. 🤷♂️
The slight turning issue seems to be browser-related—I’ve noticed it on Mozilla. That’s why we recommend using Chrome; it works smoothly for me.
Totally agree about the boosters! I’ve been thinking of adding literal arrows to show direction—just need to find a way that’s clear but not too distracting.
Despite choosing the option with tutorial the start was a bit rough but otherwise nice game, would have liked if the respawn was a bit snappier instead of making you go back to the main menu but was nice to play around with!
Yeah... It was not supposed to take you all the way back to main menu + there is no other option to go back to main menu and access settings if needed so we had to run with what we had due to lack of time to implement it better.
But that is something that we would like to improve 100%
Thank you for playing
I felt like i was playing a short hike once again, the game has great vibes and it's fun to play around. Great game!
While making the game, A Short Hike was definitely in the back of our minds the whole time 😁
But I hope it still felt like a unique experience.
Thanks for playing!
pretty fun 3D Game! Needed some time to figure out all the controls and mechanics but it was worth!
Thank you!
Maybe we took the 'just get started' approach to litteraly not explaining the controlls fully.
But you know, baby birds do not have instructions why jumping from the nest for the first time 😋
I am glad that in the end you found it enjoyable!
Nice game! I like the visuals, and it was fun to fly around.
Thanks!
Glad you had fun!
It took forever to load, but it was worth the wait! Very satisfying flying, a gorgeous environment, and of course I have to give a high rating to fellow birdful game! Really wonderful entry, good job!
Glad you made it through the loading part 😋
Awesome to hear that you've enjoyed it!
And a fellow birdful game!? I'll be sure to check it out!
Really like the vibe ! I feel like i'm flying over Namek (DBZ) with a really smooth orange bird, and the sensation when i take a boost is really cool !
Actually! You are so right about the Namek! hahaha
Now I feel like the bird's head feathers should glow yellow and speed aura vfx should be gold! 😋
Small, fun, cozy and well made art, just overall very comfortable to play once you get the mouse locked in. Did get a few frame drops here and there but having this much detail in the browser will definitely do that (definitely looks stunning). Great game!
Great world, all the art is really stunning. I love the sound of the wind rushing past. A little hard to control if you got pointed too far up or down, but otherwise flying felt very fun :)
Yeah, this is a known issue of cursor not being locked after a tutorial pop up - clicking back on the game should fix it
Or just playing the game in WingIt mode (w/o tutorials)
zipping thru the air feels goooood! Well made!
Thank you!
