Powerᵖᵒʷᵉʳ's itch.io page

How does your game incorporate the theme?
The player gets numbers to power up their movement distance. The player can put numbers in slots: there is a base slot and exponent slot that will be calculated(Like power in math).

Did you use any sort of AI during the development of your submission?

No

This is a really great concept. It's really challenging given that the number of ways you can move goes up exponentially with each turn (pun intended). Overall, well done!

Thanks for playing! I think I could explore this concept a bit more if I had a bit more time, but I am glad that I created something a bit playable :D

Cool game, a brain bender for sure!

Developer

Thanks for playing! In this jam I didn't have enough time, but I will try to explore more mechanics to this game in the future! Hopefully I can make it more challenging...(Since currently it's just a simple prototype)

It's very  fun and challenging! Even though we used same concept of power of numbers, your game has a specific goal and that makes the game interesting. If you and I had enough time to develop, we could make better ones.

Thanks for playing :D
Usually, jam games are used to test out a specific idea and to develop. You made an amazing main mechanic that expanded on the concept and had a great execution! The idea of using math and exponents itself has a lot of potential, and it is nice that we both tried it out in this jam.

Thanks again!

Sometimes jams don't go as planned, but you still made something in the end that you should be proud of!

Could definitely use a few more features to help the player out (like minimizing the number assign screen to view the board again!), but you've got a solid start to a puzzle game here!  I'm sure there are more level gimmicks you could explore too :)

The second level took me a bit to figure out what exactly I was doing, but after that point, I enjoyed figuring out the right way to move to solve the puzzles.  And good red herring numbers strewn about!  An undo button would also be helpful with the amount of times I accidentally went the wrong way lol

But of course- game jam, not enough time to polish everything :)

Thanks for such a detailed and helpful review!

Originally, I planned a few more features and mechanics to the game, but with my procrastination and amounts of bugs, I never got it completed. So I ended up with just a puzzle prototype.

Also it was a well needed idea to add the undo and viewing the board on the number assign screen. Another small detail that shows how important playtesting is haha(I got people to playtest it the day after and everyone was talking about the same problem.

Thanks again!
