Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
It is a small but hopefully meaningful take on the theme of just getting started. The core idea of getting started with ones day is the catalyst to the rest of what is to come. Hopefully that comes across well in the game.

Very nice short little game. I liked the ending a lot! My only complaint is that the text would overlap sometimes, and I would have liked to be able to push a button while it was slowly scrolling to make the rest of it appear right away. Sorry I did not have time to get to this one during the rating period, but thank you for posting it!

I loved the game! Super short but very charming. Beautiful pixel art, and nice message. Good job!

Hey, could you check out my game if you have some time, would really like some feedback.

Solid little game you've made and a very nice message to tie it all together, well done. Most the other comments have covered the points I would've, so I won't repeat those, but there was a point in my first run with a bug where the mirror had already triggered it's dialogue as if I had already used the hairdryer on it but hadnt yet. After I did though, I couldn't pick up the plunger and got stuck. Beyond that it does seem like the dog has a different collision box than most of the other objects where you can kinda warp around it. Aside from that, solid game all in all and I very much like the messaging it comes with, great job!

Thank you for playing! Appreciate you pointing that out, it seems there was still a few bugs to iron out that I had missed.  Glad you enjoyed the message of the game!

Cute game, the music and puzzles are well done. I ran into a few of the bug mentioned in other comments but no big deal. Nothing game breaking for me. With a little polish you got a solid game. Good job!

Here’s ours if you have seen it yet.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the basement. I got the screwdriver, clicked everything, went around the house, and still couldn't figure out how to get the lights back on. Key items would respawn after you left the room, and you can feed the dog without the can opener. The music and art is nice. Good job (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

Thank you for pointing out some of the bugs I had missed! I will keep those in mind for future projects - Thank you!

This was really good fun. I enjoyed the little tasks and the dialogue. The pixel art is great, and the blackout was a nice touch. Great work.

Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for playing! I am still learning the art side of things so I am glad you liked it!

Really love the background music, I wish the charather stayed in the last direction the player choosed, at least when moving back and forth, The animations are super cute and nice, sadly I couldn’t pet the dog :s I bet it took you long to come up with text for absolutely everything, althought it did overlap when interacting with multiple objects at once, and the toilet interaction is hilarious… The scene/room transitions looked very well polished and nice, overall a pretty solid cozy game :)

Developer(+1)

This is great feedback! I will 100% take the character direction into account next time. I fully meant to add a pet dog feature and I completely forgot until reading your comment!! Thank you so much for playing and I really appreciate the feedback!

A very nice and cozy game to play during break time. I like the atmosphere and the interactive exploration, and the story fits the jam’s theme well, great!

cool but i dont know how to fix the light after geting in the basement

Developer

Sorry looking back now I probably should have given the player more guidance but thank you for playing!

Having every object in the game become interactable can make the world feel more alive. There is a very tiny bug where if you interact with multiple objects while the dialogue is still going on, they will overlap. It is not a game-breaking bug though, just wanted to bring it your attention. Overall, I really enjoy the atmosphere and the exploration of the game. Keep up the good work!!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! It was my first attempt doing a dialogue system of any kind so it doesn't surprise me that I had some bugs there lol. Thanks for highlighting it, I will take that onboard for future development!

Cute game with wholesome message. There was one inconsistancy with me still getting textline about finding dog's food in the cupboard when I already fed the big pup. Sans that minute hiccup the game run smoothly and I had a blast playing it.

Developer

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed playing! Thanks for highlighting the bug, I will take a look to see what went wrong.

Very nice, cozy game! Fits really well with the theme!

I did get stuck after the light went out though, I went to the basement but the fusebox just told me it was a fusebox. So I wansn't sure what to do or what I got the screwdriver for.

I enjoyed it very much anyway! Thank you and let me know what I missed and I'll try again xD

Developer(+1)

Well that is not a very helpful dialogue tip lol! Thanks for letting me know I will look into it to see what went wrong.

There is another interactable item in the basement that will give you a fuse to fix the power alongside the screwdriver!

Really glad you enjoyed it even with the issue you ran into. Thanks so much for the feedback and playing the game!

Oh man, how did I miss this. I thought I checked everything in the basement. But I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

Really enjoyed this one. I like how you have to find things in the correct order. Leads to exploration and discovery. Really good game!

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty cool little casual everyday chores game.

Everything was pretty well done apart from a few boxes and a tree need their collisions looking at as I was able to walk over them (specifically the ones in the reception/main area) but other than that pretty solid.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for pointing that out! That was definitely a miss on my part that main room was a last minute addition with lots of panic and I forgot to add the relevant hitboxes to the tilemap. Appreciate you playing the game!

Nice cozy game.  It fits the theme perfectly! Sadly, for some reason, after getting the screwdriver i wasn't able to interact with the fuze box (might be the browser or i might have been missing something) but still, nice work!

Developer

Thanks for letting me know! Sorry about the bug, I don't know what would've caused that but I appreciate you checking out the game nonetheless!
