Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
You've just been fired from your old job and decided to start from scratch, opening a store with your last remaining money.

Very nice and simple game you've got here where all of the elements of it come together quite nicely. The main feedback I can give is maybe add some better indicators for the shop building/crafting like maybe an outline of whatever object your attempting to place down on your cursor? Or something akin to that. Other than that the main thing I think that'd be best for the game is to see it expanded upon and fleshed out from here. Great job on the game and I wish your team well on it if you continue to develop it from here or if you choose to do something else, either way, good stuff!

I will add a ghost building and more after the jam! I hope expand more this project!

Sounds good, I wish you well in the continued development of this game and once it's fully complete, let me know

Thanks!

Really cool art, really cool animations and really cool gameplay and for a short period of time it was amazing tbh . It has lot of more potential and you should expand the game more and work on it for atleast a month or two

Really nice gameplay and shows capabilities of a Godot dev and the engine :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I will continue working at this game for a while, at least enough to add all what I want and fix the bugs

Submitted

The art is quite cool. There was a bug that made all the NPCs get stuck in the same place, but, other than that, the game was great.

Developer

oh... sad. I will make changes in the NPC's AI after the jam

more sound effects could be nice and the concept and intro waas nice

Developer (1 edit)

thaanks. Will add more sounds after the jam

Submitted

really cool narrative, i liked the concept and the intro, the game is really impressive considering the time frame!

Developer

thanks!!!

I like the overall vibe a lot, I could see this having a lot of potential to be expand upon.

I feel like the placement controls can be a little bit too fiddly and could be explained a bit better.

The animations are nice but I wish there were more sound effects.

Also this is not directly tied to the gameplay but I thought the story that there's a guy that's down on his luck and just decides to open a supermarket/store with his last pennies is wildly funny to me lol.

Developer

thanks! Im happy you liked it. I will add some improvments after the end of the jam

Submitted

I like how you can just delete the whole place for money. The art is really cool and I really liked the animations. What I think you could add 1 shelf there by default, and maybe some minigames or something else to add some more to the gameplay loop. Great job!

Developer

ok! I will

I love the idea… But it needs a few improvements: 1st - Put atleast one shelf that’s already there, as when I started I bought clothes and a bunch of apples, and wasn’t able to sell anything, so I broke some walls to make a shelf, for which I couldn’t figure out the price, I also had no idea I could do that :p But overall the game has really nice animations, especially the computer one and when you carry the boxes, and it was fun seeing the customers pay for themselfs + the music really fits the theme I just wish there were a few more sound effects, like walking and maybe a truck which just drops your items and honks, instead of the items just appearing randomly on the street, but alltogether the game isn’t that bad :)

Developer

Ok! Nice ideas! I will add some of these

Submitted

Engaging gameplay loop!  I really like the animation and design of the computer shop.

Developer

thanks!

I like this type of games, played a lot of Supermarket Simulator on steam. I like the graphics and the idea, impressing that you had done that in 9 days.  Good job!

Developer

Thanks!!! It was very complicated to do all this, but Im happy with the result!

Found the introduction really cool and its music was very nice. Took me a bit to figure out the boxes appear outside after buying lol. Could have some small improvements that were already mentioned by other comments but still a very cosy and fun game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I will!

I think i did a pretty good job on the interior design of my shop. Absolutely crazy idea for being able to demolish your shop to get a quick buck. Wish games have more freedom like this. Gameplay loop's pretty fun as well. Great job with this one guys!

Developer

lol! Thanks!

Fun concept!  I love how there was no restrictions so the first thing i did was break the whole store down to get max amount of money, and only left a small path of floor and couple shelves to sell stuff :D Cute art as well. With a bit more polish this would be a awesome relaxing shop game! Would definetly play

Developer

Nice! I liked the creativity! I have a list of things to add after the end of the jam and I'm glad you liked it!

I like these type of games! Cutscenes and Artstyle are really cool though I hope you would have a more clear tutorial, a lot of people (like me) struggle without those lol

Developer

Thanks and sorry for this...

Promising submission - would love to see some improvements in the GUI and more ingame content (in the future of course), cutscene/intro animation was nice.

Developer

Thanks! I will add after the jam!

Incredible entrance on the game, I LOVED IT!

The game has great concepts, I though it was a bit glitch to walk around, place the furnitures and grab the boxes, but the game is great, I felt the art in the actual game could be differnt since the menu and the start cutscene were WAY above average.

The top vision could be a different type of top down, maybe a bit more down than top. it was hard for me to undesand the way of the game with that perspective.

Overall awesome job, your game is really great, keep up with the good work!

Developer

Thanks! I will try fix the art and colision in the future

I also got lost, didn't know how to open the store for sales. This is up my alley otherwise, nice little store, would play. Cool comic art too.

Developer (1 edit)

The store is always open, just put items on the shelf

Submitted

That it is, I managed to sell an apple. Turns out my problem is mostly technical - it took me a while to place a shelf,  I clicked around until  I found a spot where it finally happened. It's the same with other tools - I can remove the floor tiles (though I have to click a bit lower than the tile itself) but placing new ones, or walls or other things is very hard and random.

Submitted

I like the art (especially the intro), but it's hard to tell what I'm doing or supposed to be doing

Hard to tell where I'm placing things, or what buying/placing things even does (I bought and placed furniture but it didn't seem to get customers in the door)

Developer

thanks for play, is strange the furniture dont sell, it should be like the food and sell when it is in a shelf

Submitted

Ah, I might've missed that it needed to be on a shelf, it kinda just spawned in the room lol

Developer(+1)

ok, after the jam I will add a clearer tutorial of what you need to do. I hope u can enjoy the game anyway!
