Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
My game's theme revolves around about a person trying to get out of their shell ( which is the caves) and get back up and just get started.

I love the dark and dreary vibe you got in the game, from the limited light sources you have and the music gives a sense of dreariness that fits with the environment.   It really brought out the theme you are going for here!  The controls I feel like could use some improvement.  Movement feels too sluggish and slidey, like when starting and stopping the movement, in my opinion.  I think having more initial speed on startup and more friction when stopping can help make the character feel less sluggish overall.

Regardless, I really love this concept and ambiance with your game!  And congrats on completing your first game jam!

A great experience you've put together. I really liked the feeling of discovery I got from wandering around in the dark, pulling out a torch and seeing gems in the wall. I never really understood the purpose of the shovel, maybe put a description of what the tool is used for on your game page? Overall great work and good job finishing your first jam!

Nice work on the lighting.

However, the movement is too slow and the shovel and inventory controls are a bit too janky. Somehow when I move my mouse to get the shovel to reach a spot it also moves my character?
