I love the this! Funky music, fun sprite, lovely sfx, a very addicting gameplay loop, its wonderful!! This feeel like a game i would download on my phone and then play like... 30 hours while waiting for something (or procrastinating a gamejam) really good game!

Fun Game, i like it's design, but kind of easy? i reached level 10 and didn't take a single hit, which by time will be boring, increase difficulty faster to make the player going

Great for a first game. Could make for a decent mobile game.

Good game!

Very cool game! Gameplay loop is great and fun, and you should definitely expand it with shops and stuff after the jam! Graphics are simple, but very stylish, tiles are very good, and transition between floors feels very cool and smooth. I really appreciate that you tried this kind of isometric style, it fits the game very well!

Fun little game! Definitely have to choose your actions carefully on the later floors, gets way harder later. Love the art style, the gameplay feels very polished, the sound effects and music is very nostalgic and fitting!

I got a softlock in a corner on a turn where enemies weren't attacking, but they were blocking all tiles so I couldn't move, and would love for the coins to be usable for a store (though I do see your comment of it not being done in time, that's ok! This is still great!)

I'm a huge fan of Digdug and arcade games in general so I'm probably biased in saying that this was one of my favorite games I've seen yet in this jam. Only thing that I wish was added was that on some levels you should be able to spend your coins for more equipment.

Developer

Thank you for your support! Unfortunately I can’t get the shop done before the jam ended. But it definitely should be added in the game!

Nice and arcade-y

Would love to have something to spend my coins on or have some goal to aim towards

The enemies add a lot more strategy, reminds me a bit of Crypt of the Necrodancer

Fun game. Would be cool if you could spend the coins somehow. Liked the sfx a lot

Nice game! Adding the enemies in gave a good sense of strategy as you went further down. I think an upgrade system that you could use the coins for would be great for this game too!

incredibly fun and engaging. Even though there was noway (that I found atleast) of using the coins, it was still very fun to collect them

Great game, had a lot of fun trying to get as deep as possible. I love the pressure the enemies give creating this sort of puzzle you have to solve. There is also rng, which  makes the game feel fresh in every run. Animation is also really nice. Great work!

Cool game, it's fun trying to balance digging and avoiding enemies

Really liked this game! It's super fun, and the level transitions and overall animations are really well made. I'd love to see some way of killing enemies with correct positioning (e.g., making them fall into a hole!).
Excellent work overall!

This is your first jam? Made everything by yourself? It's really impressive for your first jam IMO. I love the animation when going down to the next floor and the general idea of this game. I think if there were some indicators that would make you think about which next spot to dig in, this game has actual potential to become something really good. Currently you just aimlessly kinda walk around and dig. Give us an indicator where the next roughly hole should be, and then maybe work with stamina on each floor + traps in the ground, in further levels.
In any case, I think this is very good for your first jam!

This game was really fun, it was just so satisfying to keep digging with the music and the sound effects and beautiuful, I really like that it goes 2d 3d 2d when we switch layers it's a really nice looking transition. I think if you tweaked this game just in some ways it could make for a really good mobile game.

Some feedback: I think it was a bit boring in the beginning just digging one tile at a time I think you could have made it harder earlier. 2) I think an enemy type that would really woork here is one you need to take a turn to hit so you can kill them. Or maybe having that possibility for all enemies, idk. 3) The slime and the skeleton seem to functionally be the same enemy to me, variation would be nice. 4) If there could be text that said whhat the items do when you hover them. Really well made game man, hard to believe this is your first game jam.

Little bit of lag when entering level 3 but it's a really fun game.

I got softlocked while in the corner once as enemies were taking up both of the possible spaces, and I think having (potentially multiple) turns where you don't have any chance of avoiding being hit feels a bit bitter to lose a run to, but I overall really enjoyed it. Great work.

Developer

I intentionally designed so that when you got stuck at a corner you wil get beaten to death. (by skipping every steps) There might be some bugs while having items that could save you but still got softlocked?

I just remember being unable to do anything and the monsters weren't doing anything either, but perhabs that was an issue on my end.

Submitted

Nope, I got that too. I got on a corner where the enemies just didn't happen to have any attacks in the moment I entered then I couldn't escape and they couldn't attack me either :/

I like the idea a lot ! Having to predict where the enemy is going to go is fun ! I think the game should've dug into this mechanic deeper, more ennemies sooner would have been better progression wise but the the concept is very good and has ton of potential !

the game feels interesting especially when there is multiple enemies and you have to balance the clearing of the map and the avoiding of enemies but in the layers with no enemies it just seems like you are waiting until you dig the correct space
