A very good entry! Everything looks and feels smooth.
I had no trouble following the flow of the level design who introduced with ease the different mechanics of the game. I did get a bit stuck on the 4th and 6th levels, but that just gave me more time to enjoy the music, which was also really nice!
The hanks for playing!
I’m glad that you understood the level design mechanics :D I was afraid I made them a bit counterintuitive after some play testing.
Edward Brauns III had composed many amazing musics for my past games, I think he also have a YouTube channel on his page for his music!
Thanks again!
loved it! nice visuals and sound and awesome gameplay ...it was fun ...i was not able to cross the 4th level ....didn't get it after multiple retires ....might be i was missing something .....but overall a wonderful game
Thanks for playing! The 4th level was a common point of difficulty...
If you are interested in the solution + the rest of the game I have it in a video form at the bottom of my game page:D Currently I also sent a message on the discord server asking if I can change the difficulty of that specific level. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks again!
The game is fun; I'm having a bit of trouble finishing it, but that doesn't change the fact that it's fun!
Thanks for playing:D
If you have some troubles finishing a level, I attached a video of my gameplay in the game page! Sorry that I made the difficulty ramp up a bit sudden(Which is very visible after some player reviews). For the last level, I don't expect much people to finish it(It took myself about 10 minutes as well). It's more of just an extra challenge at the end.
Thanks again!
Fantastic entry! There are so many levels and mechanic expression - great job
Thanks for playing!
I think I could still get some mechanics & concepts done, but I'm glad that you liked the mechanics there is right now!
Thanks again!
When considering the theme I never thought of "sacrificing" your health when you move. It's a really unique concept and well-applied in a puzzle-platformer style game. You did a great job with polishing the graphics which enhances the squares and shapes :)
I found this game to be a bit tricky and some solutions were not intuitive to me but I'm glad you have a video on the page as that really helped. Great job!
Thanks for playing :D
I straight up used the theme a few jams ago which is "sacrifice your health for power" because I have no ideas for this theme haha. I feel like a more restrictive theme can somehow make my brainstorming easier.
While designing my levels, I was afraid that it would be really tricky introducing my concepts to the mechanic. Therefore, I added the little squares as hints on the walls, and I created a video. I'm happy to hear that helped. In the future, I will try to introduce mechanics in a more understandable way.
Thanks again!
Finally! got the music in!
Hooray!
Wow! You made this game in 3 hours! You’re brilliant… The mechanics are incredible and ingenious, the style, the music… Everything works perfectly.
The only thing is that the difficulty is too high for me, and I can’t get past the 4th level (the pit with the dots and then the jump). Even with the video, I found it impossible hehe (after the jam I recomend to add a level selector menu, so anybody can jump to other level to try it).
I’m back (sort of)!! I’m looking forward to checking out the games you’ve been making, I’m curious. You already had potential when you started, but now you’re really, really good (this game deserves the 1st place!). Not only creating amazing things, but adapting ideas to generate even better ones! Congratulations!
PS: I did it! The key is to run a little before you fall… Now I’m stuck in the last level ^^! The difficult of this game is “a bit” high, hehe.
Thanks so much for the review and I'm glad you are back!!!!
About the game itself, I made the last level really hard because I was afraid that people will finish my game in about 1 minute before the last level... but I'm happy to hear the level difficulty is balanced. (I don't exactly expect players to finish my last level since it took me about 15 minutes for it). I don't exactly know the 4th level you are mentioning(Since every level has dots(somewhat) and a jump haha) though... sorry
I also look forward to your games! (I don't understand Galician much (I translated some words on the game page to get a bit of understanding), but your latest work was really amazing on both the game itself and the significance of it) I don’t think my games deserve 1st place—especially not before you get a win.
Thanks again!
Thanks for your words. The 4th level, that I replayed like 20 or 30 times, was this:
The last level for me is impossible, I tried a loooot of times, hehe. Remember that we, as developers, replay a lot of times our own levels, so we are “experts” in our games (ususally). In my last videogame (“O fío da memoria” - “The thread of memory”) I downgraded the difficult after the twitch comments, but it´s still complicated. In a jam it´s better to be in a 4 of 10 of difficult that in a 7 of 10… Our “4” is maybe a “6” for other players.
And yes, I think you deserve to be the winner… I didn´t make a game this time. I had an idea, but no time to development. Next week!! Oh, and I consider that you are better than me. You grew up a LOT in a very short time ^^! I’m looking forward to seeing your progress in the coming months :)
Hehe, if you need a translation of my last game, only ask for it ;) Thanks for your words. It has some minor bugs, but I spent four days making it. It’s a lot of time to polish it, searching contents, etc.
Ohhhh I remembered... I'll see if the admins allow me to update another game with the difficulty of the 4th level changed! A good lesson from me to make the earlier levels simpler.
The last level...I didn't exactly expect anyone to complete it... it's more like just there for anyone who still want to keep playing because I don't have any content anymore. It's rather a 9/10 for me aswell. And... I still consider you as a much better developer than me lol. I'm still lacking a lot of skills to be honest... (I have basically no polishing skills to make the game look good)Can't wait to see what you make next week!(Next week I will be trying out the GMTK jam so I'm not sure If I could make a game at that time.)
With the translations, you don't have to do it just for me lol(Although if you want to do it it's amazing). I can translate it on the screen pretty well :D
Thanks again!
Open to any reviews & suggestions! Thanks so much for playing! :D
I took the theme as an ice block sacrificing itself with every move & jump. It might not be the best shown in game, but hopefully I can clear some misunderstandings here.
Controls is WASD by the way!
