  • Your GDD is super indepth and describes a lot of the game, even its intricacies, and its development process, nice job! I like the many mechanics available to you in the game and how they're all introduced to you, the odd exception to this is climbing / walljumping, which is utilized before you get properly introduced to it. In my experience I thought the first walljumping part was for double jumping until the extremely high point where I realized you could wall jump. I then noticed that you can actually climb walls, and thought this was a broken mechanic because I was still under the impression it was meant to be like a Mario wall jump before I was properly introduced to the mechanic. You did a good job of building an environment with the simple art the game offers and I like the ambient music in the background, it makes for a great atmosphere. I noticed a bit into the game that sometimes you seem to get teleported around which feels a bit jarring, even if only a short distance. Overall, super solid game and the idea of only having one chance with no checkpoints makes for a high stakes, high reward platformer with awesome mechanics. Nice job!

Summarize your game!
Minimalist platformer with a focus on difficulty

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
No nuance, you get only one life, one shot, one opportunity! Also it's got a monochromatic art style. I went full sledgehammer on subtlety. One hit = restart

Very fun. all the different mechanics brought lots of flavor.  at times the swimming became annoying with how little each jump boosted you. I also got stuck at the first wall because i did not know how to climb yet.

Developer

Thanks, agreed on the water areas. I really didnt implement that in the best way and couldve made it significantly less painful

Very challenging, and the art style is great

Developer

Thanks, hopefully a reasonable challenge
