I liked the puzzles in this and they were really satisfying to solve. I teach maths and rotations and reflections are a big part of it. This game would be a great tool to help with that! Good job!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you found the puzzles satisfying to solve. That’s awesome to hear that the game could have some educational value.
This has the potential for some tricky puzzles! The last one threw me for a bit before I realized that:
a) The first three instructions cancel each other out--mirroring over y, then rotating 180 degrees, and then mirroring over x produces no net change in the image. This was a nice "aha!" moment when I was solving it. You could use facts like these to make puzzles that look more complicated then they really are.
b) You can solve any puzzle by first placing the tiles such that they form the completed image in the frame and then applying each operation to the tiles in order. So if the first step is to mirror the pieces horizontally, you swap the tiles with their horizontal neighbors. Then, if the next move is a 90 degree clockwise rotation, you move each piece one space clockwise around the board. Following this strategy, the completed image will form the full loop, though it may be rotated.
Also, I noticed that the mirror operations in the last level seem to be flipped. So the horizontal mirror operation was flipping the pieces vertically instead. Still, I enjoyed the game!
Hi Joey G, thank you so much for your review! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.
And a special thanks for catching that bug with the operations—it was a fun one to fix since it involved the whole local vs. global space quirk.
I also really appreciate the thought you put into solving the puzzles. For the last two levels, since each piece is unique, here’s a little extra nudge: if you spot something the operations cannot achieve, you might be able to find the solution even faster after arranging the tiles to form the completed image. 😉
Very unique and brain-twisting puzzles!
It looks so simple but was pretty difficult and you really had to think for a while.
I really enjoyed it!
Well done :D
Thanks for playing and for the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed it 😊
It's a really cool idea. It drew me in. I do have some feedback. First of all, the graphics. Sometimes the shapes don't line up exactly, and they are quite simple. It might be fun to use pictures instead of just shapes, like jigwas puzzles but with all the operations. Secondly, I think the difficulty goes up a bit too quickly. The level with two operations is already quite hard, and after that you go straight to 4 or even 5 operations. I think it would be better to stay on 2 operations for one more level, then go to 3 and go towards 4 or 5 in later levels.
But very solid game!
Thank you so much for your feedback! It really means a lot that you took the time to leave such a thoughtful review. The graphics didn't look misaligned in Unity, but something got messed up in the WebGL export—and I didn’t have enough time to fix it before the deadline. Sorry for that rough edge!
I love your suggestion of using pictures instead of just abstract shapes, I think that could add a new layer to the puzzles. And I completely agree about the difficulty curve. I tried a bit too hard to stick to the 4 and L-O-O-P theme, which led to skipping over a smoother progression. In a non–game jam setting, I’d definitely spread out the challenge more gradually. Thanks again for the encouragement and great insights!
No problem, the game idea is really solid, and I like to see developers improve!
Can you also check out my game? :)
Thanks again!
I left a longer comment on your page, and what a brilliant take on the theme!
Simple idea, but they were really good puzzles!
Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed the puzzles 😊
I like the complexity of the puzzles derived from just 4 blocks, unique idea and a fun game! I would have liked some more visual feedback on dragging and dropping the blocks however.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the puzzle concept. And you're absolutely right about the dragging and dropping—it definitely needs more visual and audio feedback to feel satisfying. I really appreciate the kind words and the helpful suggestion!
Cool idea, but it really requires a lot of imagination from the player. The level with the rotation and mirror reflection totally beat me :D
Thank you for playing, and I'm really glad you found the idea cool! I actually had a lot of internal debate about whether to include a completed version of the puzzle as a guide—it reduces the imagination required, but I felt it might give away too much. This is my first attempt at making a game, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on how to strike the right balance between fun and challenge!
Very cool puzzles. the last one was a bug leap form the others and I was stumped for ages. i thought a game with only 4 puzzle pieces would be simple and boring but I was proved wrong
Thank you! I'm so glad the puzzles surprised you in a good way 😊 And haha—yeah, that last one takes a bit of a leap! Really appreciate you playing and sticking with it!
I really liked the puzzle design, I thought it was simple and clever. The UI was a bit difficult to work with, it would be nice to see the thing physically being held by my cursor and maybe having some audio/visual feedback when I pick stuff up and drop it. I think your design was really great though, awesome work!
Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughtful suggestions, and I'm really glad that you enjoyed the puzzle design! Totally agree on the UI feedback; showing the object at the cursor and adding some visual/audio cues would make the interaction feel much more satisfying. Thanks again for playing!
This is Literally good but i just hoped it the art was more of a pixel art to match the theme of the Thumbnail!. Other Than that THE GOAT! Brilliant game <3
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I definitely got a bit too ambitious when I created the thumbnail art. I'll try to live up to it better in future updates. Really appreciate the kind words and thoughtful suggestion!
The UI was a bit glitchy and the mechanics a bit unclear, but a fun idea!
Thanks a lot for playing and for the honest feedback! Totally hear you on the UI and clarity—those are definitely areas I'm working to improve. Really glad you still had fun!
Fun! I didn't get past the 90 degrees and flip but pretty fun! it would be nice to have an indicator of some sort when dragging a block, kind of like when dragging a file in file explorer/finder
Thank you so much for the feedback! That really hits the nail on the head—I felt something was missing from the dragging experience too, and an indicator like the one you described sounds perfect. I'll look into adding that!
Very Cool!
