Super lucky game. Sorry Mr Froggito 🍕⌛

Last game I've rated this jam.! (shame you won't be able to rate mine)

I was a bit confused at the start even with the explanation on the website.  But if you mess around a bit, you can figure it out. You already know about the text in the shop being a bit small.

Really fun game,

Well done!

Really cool and interesting game. The graphics looks really good., feels like a really polished game.

I don't think I'm doing a great job with my managing, it would be nice to have a bit more of a guide.

The devs have done an amazing job!

Amazingly polished game and the humour is great! I haven't finished the game yet,. I'm not sure how to accuse someone, my guess is that it does it automatically once I have the right clues. Just leaving a comment now, since the rating is almost over and I don't want to accidentally forget to rate the game.

Amazing job, well done!

The sound and movement have a fantastic game feel, really satisfying to move around and dodge into enemies. I haven't beaten the game yet, I keep reaching the grandfather clock one. I'll try again later.

It would be nice to have an indicator of how much progress we have made after we die, just to know.

Game is very fun, well done!

The game concept is really fun. Reading the instructions I was a bit worried it was going to be difficult, but it was actually very straight forward.
Fantastic work, well done!

Very fun game, the parkour and the different guns were fun. I didn't manage to beat level 3 , and level 4 I won first try by cheesing it.

I watched the speed run after beating the final boss, it was interesting seeing how differently we play. Not beating level 3 is a skill issue, but I'm sure I could beat it with enough practice. I did go back to attempt it again, but the revolver was missing so I gave it pass.

I personally never had any issues with the countdown timer (can imagine balancing it is tricky) , except when I fell from the platforms in level 1. It would have been nice to have a restart shortcut, I just jumped in the lava instead.
Also, I think having an optional level timer in one of the corners would replaying levels more fun.

I think level 1 is probably already too difficult of a jump for a lot of players, it should have been more gradual rise in difficulty, especially for a game jam where everyone has different skill levels.

The parkour levels felt more like what the  game was supposed to be. Level 3 felt like a bonus level , still fun, I'm just upset I didn't beat it (: .  With limited time to design the levels, it's understandable.

Great game, I had a lot of fun. Well done!

Absolutely excellent and creative game!

Not really a bug, but my first play through I was playing with my pen tablet and for some reason the paint mini game would not work. I was so confused trying to figure it out. On my second play through I tried with my regular mouse and it worked correctly, not sure how it knew what device I was using or why it would matter. Such a weird quirk, but can't really call it a bug when it was never intended to be played that way to start with.

The vibes and the unique mini games were fantastic. Felt super polished and worth playing more than once.

Amazing job, well done!

Super cool and the vibe is great! It felt really unique and it did a great job a incorporating the theme. Some of the explanations of the power ups were a little confusing, and interactive or visual tutorial would be a great post jam addition.

Really cool to see more card based games!

The devs did a fantastic job!

Wow, the art, animation, and sound design are on another level. The game is super polished and really creative. I don't think the puzzles were super difficulty but I kept messing so it took me a while.

Really good game, congrats!

Nice art style and very unique idea. I think it would have benefited from having more levels with a more gradual ramp up in difficulty. The game mechanics need a bit more polishing, but it was still fun to play.

Nice work!

Goat it haha, so simple. I basically did a speed run to that point and almost got it first try. As I was standing on the other side, the trap door thing landed on me as I was waiting around.

Thank you!

Weird and creative. Having chess problems is fun, but I'm not sure people who don't play chess will agree.

I encountered a softlock bug, where the puzzle was already solved and I couldn't do anything to carry on.(Screenshot of the puzzle). I think it was the previous puzzle I solved before the boxing round.

Really good job, the art an vibe are amazing!

Bug

The theme is hilarious and the game is simple yet fun. The little animation when you lose is funny, I'm not even that upset about losing.

Excellent job devs!

Felt like a very complete experience and good use of the countdown theme. The puzzles weren't too difficult, which is perfect for the jam. The aesthetic theme was very cohesive, from the music to the art.

Excellent job!

Of course it doesn't, Solitaire isn't a game it's a genre! I made this game. I think I'm confusing people who have never played Solitaire style games before, sorry!

That explains why I saw the hat option in every shop :)

The smiley is perfect for the current state of the game, it doesn't need to be anything fancy. Like I said, I appreciate that you even have a win screen!

I'm sure you can come up with more fun ideas for the game, it still has a lot more potential!

Very creative idea and fits the jam perfectly!
I haven't beaten the game yet, but I have done several attempts. There is plenty of variance that makes it very replayable. Some situations felt very unfair, but that is part of the game.

Excellent work!

Yeah, I realised something similar with my last minute testing. Once you make a good enough bot, which can be done with like 6 cards, it's really easy to beat all 3 bots with roughly the same stats. Probably good for the jam, since it makes it a lot easier. But I've already though of some better ideas which should be more fun and challenging, but it will require a bit of work.

I think you're the first person beside me to beat all the challenges. Thank you!

Good game! I didn't get hit a single time during the entire game. Not sure why you were trying to get rid of my hat!

Was the win screen supposed to be a smiley face? Appreciate having a win screen, a lot of game this jam didn't have one :)
Regardless of the countdown theme being weak, the game is really fun.

Well done!

here were the stats at that point.

Very fun and the mascot is awesome!

My feedback is similar to other people, didn't like when the dice was hidden behind the objects. Which should be an easy fix.
Not sure about the statistics you quoted at the start, are you taking into account safety rolls and that players could be rolling hundred of times. Plus, the way you roll the dice in-game might not be fair.
I was so close to winning without any dice upgrades (this was the 42nd roll) , and I was just farming gold for fun.

Game is really entertaining, great job!

I think you're right about the beginner bot. The bots are currently arranged by how long they play for on average and how likely they are to win. Which isn't super noticeable when playing them. Based on all the feedback, I already have a potential solution I've already partially tested a bit.
Easier bots will play slower on average, this makes it a lot more fair. I'll also make sure they are guaranteed to win so you don't get free victories if you're not fast enough. And lastly, I'll make sure each difficulty has a minimum amount of steps so that the bots don't randomly get a super lucky game. Master difficulty will be pretty much the same.

Thank you for your feedback and kind words!

Felt absolutely crazy and chaotic. The effects were great, truly a trippy experience. The way the game started with everyone fighting in the main room was ridiculous, in a good way. Now that I think about it, I wonder if it was a bug.

You did a great job, well done!

The retro vibes are great and the gameplay is fun. Laser enemy can be a bit unfair, but all part of the experience.

Excellent work!

The music is super dramatic, it's pretty fun.

I didn't understand why highest card is 2 of spades and lowest is 3 of diamonds. And the rules just assume you know how to play the poker variant this game is based on, even though there are many different variants. I tried playing  10-J-Q-K-A-2 straight and it didn't work, I thought since 2 is high it made sense, even without the wrap around rule in place.
I had few goes, but didn't manage to beat the game. I kept messing up, which as you know resets your progress. My best run was 7/10.

That game was simple but a lot of fun to play.

Well done!

The core concept of combining the countdown theme with Poker is brilliant. As a fan of Balatro, I knew I was going to enjoy playing it.

You added an impressive amount of features and power ups in the short amount of time given to us. The only issue is that I think it might be too much for a game jam. I think the amount of content in the game and how the tutorial was done could potentially scare off a lot of players who might not be as familiar with the genre. A more streamlined version would have helped more people get into it as well as giving you more time to focus on the little details and balancing. It would also mean you get to showcase the best of everything, since players are more likely to encounter the best stuff if there is less.

I had a lot of fun playing it, and it got me thinking about how I would have implemented the countdown theme with Balatro.

You did a great job, well done!

I was excited to play your game since seeing the initial teasers on YouTube. Very creative concept for the game jam, the theme is used really well!

The aesthetics of the game are great, all the unique birds and the cat look amazing.

The gameplay I found to be very frustrating since I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be building towards and the birds just kept dying.

When making decisions in the shop I wanted to be able to consult the birds and the tiles before making the purchase. It felt like I was being forced to memorise every single power up I bought. Even after purchasing, when you can consult them before applying, you couldn't consult the birds and the tiles at the same time.

Then the visual feedback when watching the sequence felt a bit unsatisfying because you have no idea which power ups are going to activate, which kind of ruins the anticipation for a good combo. I think an indicator on how many steps the current bird has taken would be nice. I'm guessing there is a reason you've hidden the cat's frustration value, so having the steps value would also help players figure out how close they are to surviving indirectly.

My final strategy was to make all the birds collect as much money as possible by upgrading the tiles to give double seeds. Then I dumped as many repeat tile power ups as possible on one bird. I never really found any satisfying combos, probably a skill issue and the frustration of planning a bit blind. So that was the best I could come up with.

Overall, it's a good game concept with a lot of potential. I had a lot of fun playing it.

Well done!

Very cool and creative idea!

How did you design the levels/timers? Was it just trial and error? I wonder if that could be a potential game mode. Where you get a list predetermined timers each level and you must arrange them on the grid before playing, tweaking the layout as you play through trial and error.

Had a lot of fun beating it, great job!

Sorry to tell you that it is a skill issue :(

Thank you for playing!

So good, very fun an enjoyable. Felt perfectly tied up for a game jam while showing the potential for a full game.

I lost my first playthrough because I forgot to actually pay the debt. I kind of assumed it would be paid automatically and cleared on the final day. In hindsight it was very obvious how it was supposed to work. It wasn't too bad, because once you know where everything is the second playthrough is a breeze.  Plus, I got to see the bad ending.

I'm very honoured one of the devs also tried my game, you guys did such an amazing job.

Well done!

I already have a bunch of solutions to improve the bots, basically make them play at different speeds depending on the difficulty, make sure they always win to avoid easy victories, make sure they play a minimum amount of steps in the earlier difficulties.

The bot Vs bot mode is a already lot more fair,  for the custom bot to win they need to win in fewer steps or lose in more steps. But I didn't think that was fun for players, so that's why the current player Vs bot mode is more of a flawed race.

Thank you for you feedback and kind words. Can't wait to try out your game later today, it looks awesome!

Edit: It was really cool, if anybody is reading this go and check it out.

I love it! Really simple idea turns complicated very quickly.  You also did a really nice job with the UI, looks really good. Great to see more card games this jam.

Nice job!

I broke the tutorial with a last minute change before the deadline, and didn't realise until it was too late. I did make an emergency video tutorial because it's easier to see than to read, but I can't expect everyone to see it.

Thanks for playing!

I'm stuck on lvl 4, have been playing for so long and almost made it many times. I haven't focused on the timer at all, doesn't really seem like the issue.

It's a fun game, but you're are evil for not making the difficulty a bit more gradual.

But you dud a good job, well done!

Very interesting concept, it creates a really interesting dynamic. Only thing is that there isn't really enough information about the next battle, making you guess a lot. For example, in the early rounds you defeat the dual wilding king. You then expect the next round with the boat to be even stronger, so you send the same number of people to make sure more of them die but then hardly anyone dies which is frustrating since there was nothing that indicated how strong they would be.

Really enjoyed playing, the art and design of the game was really cool.

Well done!

Really fun game. At first I was just getting unexpected bonus points for things I didn't even realise, but you quickly learn. Also happy that other people have been attempting card based games.

You did a great job, well done!

Really fun game. You kind of lose track of the rules, so you just remember the keys ones and try to build around them. I did unfortunately encounter the softlock bug, but its a game jam so stuff like this happens.
I like that you tried to animated as much as possible, the card fanning is fun to mess around with.

Good job!

Very cool idea, and kind of satisfying. It feels really easy at the start but you do eventually lose control and it becomes a lot more frantic.
I was hoping it would be like tetris because of the name, but it's very different. But regardless, the game was good, so I wasn't disappointed.
Excellent job!

Really addicting and full of content, plus the art is really cool.

Great job!
