I like the art style and the map, in terms of gameplay it's a bit easy but also satysfying to have multiple turrets on your train. Wish there was stuff to do during the loop.
I enjoyed watching u guys stream the making of the game, and I enjoyed playing it even more, although it does start a little slow it gets much more intense !
Love it <3
Pretty game, but I think that's it. Waiting for it to do the loop is extremely tedious, especially when you first launch the game and are trying to figure out what you have to do, which is actually nothing, just watch. Selecting the updates is confusing as it's not clear you need to select a wagon first to include the gun to it.
I think it's a very nice idea but as a game it lacks the point and fun.
A neat spin on the "LOOP" theme, however I wish there was more to this game than just watching a steam engine train go on a loop on tracks.
Gameplay wise there is basically nothing, you just watch the train and eventually pick an upgrade, where's the fun? Am I watching a video :)?
Such a missed opportunity, I love the train loop stuff idea but the gameplay is empty...
Assets wise the game is on point.
It's also visually appealing, the little minimalistic train and desert is cute.
Overall missed opportunity, please consider adding a more exciting gameplay next time!
Good luck!
I enjoyed watching the cute enemies being damned to rot in the desert and then got jumpscared by a big one. Not very cute. But definitely a very interesting concept and I have some feedback I'd like to share:

I had fun playing it, thank you for making Ouroboros Engine!
I loved the music in the game and the visuals are good but i wish that either the loop was shorter and that you could interact with what was happening during the loop. Great work!
Would be nice to have some controls for the game either for the train itself or the guns. The visuals are good, and the spider-like creatures are creepy. Good job on your submission!

Cool execution but I agree with the other comments saying it would be better if there were more interaction. 😊
I agree with the other comments, some interactivity while the trains drives would be great. Maybe allow the player to take control of one weapon? For narrative purposes, something like a second train stop on the far side would be good, then the player would deliver supplies and stuff through heavily infested areas.
All that being said, I enjoyed my time with the game!
I was about to write a comment about how the web version wouldn't load, but it finally finished right before I was about to post my comment, so lucky timing!
The presentation is good; the title and thumbnail were interesting and drawed me in and the itch page is well designed.
Vampire Survivors-esque games are always nice, but the lack of interactivity (the only thing the player can do is choose upgrades) combined with the overall slow pace (which is not ideal for a game jam, where people expect shorter experiences) led to a mildly boring experience.
You should be able to choose an upgrade right at the start, because as it is currently, the first loop is essentially a cutscene, where the player is scrambling, trying to figure out what they're supposed to do.
Overall, it was funny watching all those 2-legged, fuzzy spiders zipping around the screen getting absolutely mowed down.
Looks great, but like Galuma, I couldn't add any weapons to the locomotive. Only adding wagons in the back seems to work...
No spiders are allowed on my train 😤
I absolutely love the production value on this game--the art looks great, the music is perfectly fitting, and the enemy design is fun. Even the little animations with the train rumbling and the guns sighting the enemies are all really great. My only gripe with the entire experience is the long bouts of time between any gameplay interaction. Each loop on the train takes about 100 seconds, and during that minute-and-a-half the player can do nothing but watch things unfold. In the first loop, I wondered if this was less a game and more a visual narrative experience!
I think that allowing some active management mid-loop would've upped the fun factor for the player! Still, awesome art, and you've got a really cool template to keep building from!
Kind of a chill game but the game could use more interactive elements.
I'm not sure how to place the weapons on the carriage, the back, middle and front button don't seem to do anything.
It's stuck at the loading screen and won't open T T
