How does your game fit the theme?
The core of the game centers around a gambling addiction loop. As Jimmy, you fall into a cycle of buying and selling Goobers, sacrificing your money, your belongings, your time, and ultimately your family. The gameplay reflects this endless loop as it entices players to keep playing so they can make a fortune, yet they never do. The main map is a literal loop connecting your home, Goober Gacha, and Plink & Plong, which symbolizes the gameplay cycle. The Arcade machine features a looping mechanic where Goobers on the sides cycle back to the top. The Arcade game room itself is also shaped like a loop (infinity) symbol, and that shape is highlighted when the Goobers bounce around in loops. As a gacha game, you constantly receive the same Goobers over and over again in a loop. Conversations with your family begin to repeat and loop around as all the days start to blur together.

Very well made! I like that the narrative is as humorous as it is tragic. Well done!
I was hoping for the alt ending where I you don't sell any of your belonging and go get the gym teacher job
Oh my god I loved this so much. Sold the kitchen table for $100, spent $400, got a Legendary, multiplied it x4 then managed to turn all this into a $15 game. Sold the kids' beds, changed that $100 into $1100. Unfortunately my loving family left me before I could complete my 10x Hatsune Miku run, but with a full gallery of goobers I can now sleep comfortably on the cold floor of my empty home.
I would happily rate this 6 out of 5 stars on enjoyment! Congrats on a very engaging gameplay loop, I only wish there was a final cutscene (I just got blank background with no options, but for a jam game if that's the only issue that's amazing)
Absolutely hilarious. Never has a game so deeply and digustingly made me feel like an absolute loser and I was laughing the whole time.
Obviously it feels like a gamejam game with everything cobbled together to just be playable, but it's such a silly story that I wasted over an hour gambling my family's life away in this stupid game. I watched my wife gaslight herself as I sold all of her posessions, I watched my children look into my eyes with baseless hope, and I heartlessly threw their hopes into the dumpster day after day, playing the odds at a game that was only really possible to lose. I spent all of my winnings on more gambling and I cheered when selling the silverware amounted to a super rare toy that I accidentally sent down the tubes for no profit.
What a game. What an excellent stupid game.
Thank you so much for playing and for the amazing comment (it made me laugh a few times)! I'm glad you enjoyed destroying your ideal home and selling all your possessions for the glory of gatcha and gambling :D Fun lore note: you have 2.5 children because kitty counts as the 0.5 -- so you are the ideal nuclear family.
sadly this game got dropped in the wrong queue </3. I dont really enjoy gacha/gambling games to begin with, but the added plinko or whatever mechanic just made it worse to play, because i can just lose all resale value of something I got really lucky getting? btw, there are several angles where the goober just flings into the lose it all hole at practically unreactable speeds, which sucks even more. I didn't finish the story, because i couldn't bring myself to gamble any longer cause it was getting kinda boring. Overall though, the game was pretty fire, especially for people who play gachas and are chronically online, because the art was awesome! the music, however was not great and the gambling location theme was pretty annoying lol. congrats on completing this game though, and give your artist a raise lmao
loved experiencing a gambling addiction. got hatsune miku and mike wasowski. wish there was moodeng :p
Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed the gambling addiction! Ahh yes, moodeng would have been such a great goober lol!
Loved the story and the artwork. Nice game
Glad you enjoyed the story! We had a really silly time coming up with the game concept. Thanks for playing!
I love the gacha part but the pinball physically made me ill.
Glad you enjoyed the gatcha! I'm curious what made the pinball difficult to play?
It was honestly the slow speed of it, as well as how hard it is to get an item in the middle hole. It would be about 5 minutes of paddling before my $240 Miku would get in there, especially with the peg immediately above that hole stopping most of my attempts to sink something
Good to know. I wasn't sure if the goobers were falling to slow, so I might play around with the parameters afterwards to make it feel a bit better.
Game broke when I sold off last of 100 pt items... why was the chair impossible to get? lol
Unfortunately we didn't notice that bug before the deadline. The game has an ending but it can't be reached in this build because of that.
Lol it's random, sometimes it takes forever to get a goober
Okay, let me start off by saying the story would have probably made a better impact on me if I wasn't so goated at gambling (By the end of loop 7 I had like 1400 points and seen all goobers). This might be a wrong takeaway, but the gambling was extremely enjoyable and I also really enjoyed the meme culture in the art and the sound design. Great Job!
I also think playing this may have negatively impacted my cognitive function (a compliment)
Yo, you figured out how to make money by gambling, that's impressive! I'm glad you enjoyed the gambling, we tried to make it as addictive as possible. But it was supposed to financially ruin you, not bring success lol.
