A game about sushi? Of course I had to try it! 🍣

At first, the gameplay felt a bit confusing — but once I opened the pause menu and read the effects of each ingredient, everything became much clearer and more enjoyable.

I really liked the concept of stacking ingredients to create your own recipes. Super creative idea and a solid game overall!

Also, the art is super cute, and the food looks surprisingly realistic… It's actually making me hungry!

The music in this was such a vibe, first of all. Second, I love sushi, and I didn't know that I loved games about sushi until now, so, thanks for that. And thirdly, I liked the puzzle-y-ness of building the platter combinations quite ab it here. Very good game, nice job

Its a nice concept. I am sucker for roguelike games, so when i saw the traits i was sold. I do think it would benefit from little bit more ui info like how many items are left on the belt

Cool idea makes a fun game!

Please rate my game!

The game I played the longest! It's so satisfying making your own sushi!Good job!

Liked the art. Was thinking of trying some train game as my concept is under trains. Didn't not expect to create some sushi today.

Sorry, but wasn't that enticed to play more after the first shop round so not much feedback from my part.

YOOOOOOOOOO THIS GAME IS SOOO FUN! Feels like i am playing balatro but with sushi. Wish there is a hint for each ingredients, but over all a very fun game!

Developer(+1)

yeah, there is actually a list of ingredients with their effects in the pause menu, but its a little hidden and we could have made it easier to find :< ty for the comment ^^

ohhhh i see i see, well, its understandable since we only got few days to make game and thus not get much chance to play test. Still, i think it got a lot of potential to developed further ^^

Good luck my friend!

Great concept, and great art!

WELL seeing as everyone likes the music so much I've got crazy news for you - it's now streaming everywhere.

Not expecting much but hey I thought I'd give the option :)

Great vibes. The art, colour choices, and music felt very cohesive. The way you married up two train-related themes (sushi train and train through a wild west type area) is unexpected and clever - you pulled it off really well. I had a couple of small issues:

  • At a stop where you can purchase things, I could add items to my "plate" but I couldn't remove them if I changed my mind.
  • At a stop where you make and serve recipes, I had already served a couple of things, and then I dragged the dotted outline sashimi thing onto the plate to start another. As that happened, the level ended and results appeared. When I got to the next stop, that sashimi outline object was still on the plate but could not be used. I was still able to drag a rice on top of it, though. I didn't notice if it affected the scoring.

Great entry overall, nice work!

thank you! ive been told about your 2nd issue by playtesters but haven’t been able to replicate it myself, so ill look into that. as for issue 1, i might try to make purchases revertable, but i feel like i would need to change the recipe-serving sections too, but we’ll see <3

Really fun idea, I saw a similar game recently about making omlettes. Can definitely see how this could be expanded to become a fun roguelike

Fun little game. My main issue was that once I put something on the plate I didn’t know how to take it off. Besides that It was nice. Good visuals!

The sushi is so appealing, nice work! The variety of ingredients and perks is nice, and I think it would be really useful if hovering over the ingredient showed me the info about it. I kept having to hit esc to remember what something did.

Even tho it lacks a tutorial, which is understandable cause jam game, I really like the machanics of it to make balatro style game about making sushi, really clever way of making that theme and the artstyle suits it well! Would like to see it pushed further to the limits, would be nice to make some point limit breaking sushi! :3

I had a hard time reaching level 4 lol, the roe ingredient is overpowered to. I cook sushi sometime and i think i will make that for supper to be honest. The art of the ingredient was well done, music well choosen. Great work.

Developer

we struggled to find playtesters in time to make balancing fixes, so i get what you mean about roe and round 4 xd. i’ll pass on your compliments to my teammate who did all the art and made the music <3

Balatro inspired gameplay, sushi, amazing art, and amazing sound design. What more could I ask for! I really enjoyed the game! A bone to pick (although a small one) is it feels you are you kinda just thrown in the deep end at the start, but it wasn't toooo hard to figure things out. Overall, a job well done :D

Developer(+1)

unfortunately we didn’t have time to add a proper tutorial in-game, but when we come back after the jam we’ll definitely be adding one in! thanks for the kind words <3

Cool game, it was nice to experiment and figure out combos. I softlocked myself a few times though because I managed to put sashimi as a base and it wouldn't let me serve the dish

That's a bold decision to make a train with the scrolling background just for level selection, haha! COOL
