How does your game fit the theme?
If you shoot a ball through a portal, it loops around to the other side of the table. Also, "LoopyPool" is palindromic.

Novel and interesting concept.

The game works fine, but it takes so long.  The physics needs tuning.  It's also quite tricky without a guide showing you where you'll strike the balls.  Trying to use portals to make shots is even tougher.

Could also do with some music.

You are so right.  We fiddled with physics settings but without an understanding of the parameters, it was trial and error. Mostly error :)

I've added your recommendations to our task list. Thanks for the suggestions, and thanks for taking the time to try out the game!

I think some sort of crosshair or guide that shows you where your shot is going to go might help the portals be more relevant in this game- that way you can actually see if going into a portal is strategically beneficial or not. As others have said also the wait times are long, either increase the traction on the table surface or force all balls to stop moving once a certain velocity threshold has been reached

I like the idea of a crosshair. We toyed with the idea of being able to apply spin to the cue ball, and a crosshair would help that immensely. That, plus a dotted guide line or somesuch to show the path would be really helpful like you suggest. We're working on the physics now, but your other ideas are on the to-do list. Thanks for trying the game and taking the time to offer suggestions!

  • Main issue is that low-velocity friction isn't high enough, so you usually have to wait >30 seconds for the next shot even after the balls have essentially stopped moving
  • Main idea could be expanded greatly, the tiny set portals don't change the game that much and you can't really see through them effectively to line up shots
  • Would love audio & visual feedback after sinking a ball into a pocket, and/or something keeping track of score
  • If you hit the balls hard enough they go over the side and don't respawn or anything if I understand correctly
  • Rotating the camera more freely or at least a little faster would be nice

Thanks for taking the time to try it out, and for the feedback. That wait time is brutal! We fiddled with the physics settings and realized ... we didn't know what we were doing :) I've added your suggestions to our task list. Thanks again!

I didn't like the concept that much until I accidentally went through the portal and scored two in one shot. Would play even more if I didn't have to wait 10 more seconds between every shot.

Developer

Nice shot! If we get around to implementing achievements, we'll retroactively award you the "portal two-fer"!

We appreciate you trying out the game, and we appreciate the feedback. We really need to fix that wait time.

Cool idea, it just needs more flashing out and a scoring system. Also the time to wait for the ball to completely stop so that I can shoot again is too long.

Developer

That delay is painful, indeed. Thank you for enduring it, and for trying the game. We appreciate the kind words and the feedback!
