I loved so much about this game, it's a hidden gem. The gameplay is a unique mashup of Pokemon Ranger style combat and a roguelike, and it feels really fun to play! The movement feels just fun, especially when using the run mechanic, which I think makes the game intuitively a blast to play. I love how some upgrades are a choice between stat upgrades and some are a choice between abilities/powerups, it makes the rewards you get after obtaining stars feel more varied and less formulaic. I think what sells this game is the theme and art style, and how its integrated into the gameplay. The concept of having a literal pen run out limiting your ability to draw is really cool! I thought the run move was especially unique. The art style is a great mix of this cute hand drawn sprites and real images, which makes it pretty funny. The theme, art/UI style, and gameplay all being tied together really makes this a unique package with its own identity. The criticism I have comes from the balancing, I think the pen doesn't have enough ink to start with and the enemies pile on you way too much before you have enough upgrades to be able to beat them effectively. Overall, fantastic game, I really think deserves more ratings!
Really cool idea! I just found it difficult to draw circles quickly. maybe see if the position of the pen is close enough to the already the drawn line, then complete the circle. But other than that, its awesome!
Loved the hand-drawn effect of the art, and the background really tied it all together. I also liked how you integrated the idea of powerups with the novelty of a floating weapon. An eraser may have been more technically correct, but the pen and ink really felt satisfying to use.
I learned that I am terrible at drawing circles with a mouse XD

Really awesome art direction, a lot of attention to detail. I found drawing circles a little difficult, would have liked a tiny bit more ink at the start to make it a tiny bit more forgiving. The upgrades were fun! Although it felt like the difficulty spiked after only 1 or 2 upgrades, although I probably just suck.
Worked really well as stylus / pen tablet game. Would work really well on something like the Nintendo DS.
Amazing work, really enjoyed this game!
omg i love this i just wish there was a tad more ink cause i am so BAD at circling the monsters
Wow, I did not expect to play for this long. The balancing including the upgrades and the enemy behavior feels really good. Made me want to replay immediately when dying. Also love the scribble art style and consistent theming.
this is fun!
11/10. Oooooooh! They're FIREBALLS! Ahhh
Love the artstyle and the method of attacking enemies incorporating the theme!
WOW I LOVE THE GAME'S STYLE
Loved this idea! I find that I run out of ink a little too quickly and can't complete circles easily, but great presentation and has a lot of charm. Fits the theme very well. Great job!
really fun :) i played it with my drawing tablet so it was even better. the audio could use some work though, the music is... uh.... music. and there's not really any sound effects for getting hit, killing an enemy ect. but really cool concept! i think you should play around with this more after the jam ends. good job!
Very fun! We did a similar take on the theme haha
I love this take on the theme, and I really dug the gameplay loop. Drawing the loops was a little tricky at first, but I had a lot of fun. Great job!
i love how simple it is to learn how to play and how fast it becomes hard. Although i sort of skipped the first bit and was wondering why i draw so little.
