Its a cool idea. Indeed it needs an orb locator :D
indeed it does
I know you felt that you ran out of time but this is honestly one of the most unique movement systems I've come across in the jam - imo the time was well spent making something that hasn't existed before!! I love how the loop has lots of really interesting properties to play with, how its movement is different when its all bunched up vs spread out, how you need to alternate between gung-ho flicks and careful adjustments. It is very satisfying to interact with and has basically no janky which is impressive for this kind of procedural animation!
I had a lot of fun playing. Great entry, thank you for making it!
(p.s. love to see another Godot head out there 🫡)
This is just wonderful to hear! Basically all the dev time was the player controls, after that I had to come up with something to *do* lol. The controls are just a handful of bodies linked together with joints to make a loop, I generate it at run time so the amount, size, distribution, etc of everything is easily tunable. I am quite happy with it, perhaps I make something more with it.
And yes, Godot is awesome.
This is the most creative interpretation I've seen yet! Adding stuff to dodge or terrain to navigate would be loots of fun.
I simply ran out of time after making the player controls, but I am glad you liked it!
interesting concept! something about dragging this thing around and the jigglyness was really satisfying to my brain
That was the hardest thing to do x)
I had much more elaborate ideas but forgot how to makes games to just made the player loop thing and then a "game" out of that
I always have a hard time interacting with the mouse in godot so I'm impressed you got as much functionality as you did! Great physics and I love the lightning effect
lots of debugging with relative and global coords :)
Haha yes, often turns into a guess and check scenario instead of trying to reason it out
there is logic to it but I didn't really keep things as organized as they could have been x)
