Congratulations on the project! I found it to be an engaging challenge!
Thanks!
Brilliant game! I enjoyed playing this and the simplicity of the art works well.
Thank you!
i saw wake up and instantly clicked because that was my game story what i got was an straight out awesome game with great mechanics and art style love the game wish you put more of the lore in it
Thanks, we'll keep the lore in minde if we keep working on it after the jam ;)
Loved the music! Very fun game, great work :)
Thanks!
Wow you got music and everything here! This is really great! And the VFX are good too! Great work!
Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!
Thank you!
Looks and plays quite juicy! Not sure I understood the progression correctly, definitely loops were becoming more complex after I cleared them but maybe some progress slider would be very nice (like waves to wake up...)
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we should have made that loop mechanic stand out more and give some more feedback regarding progression to the player :P
That hooked me for a few runs! The upgrade system works well, you have to think about killing enemies but you always have to think about killing them in the right order. That changes a lot and the gameplay is quite different from a traditional survivor-like. You are not really escaping enemies, you are dancing with them.
Well done!
Thanks for the kind words! You are definitely the frontrunner for 'most poetic comment'! :D
Fun gameplay and quite challenging! The art was also nice and fitting :D
Thank you!
Fast paced and fun!
Thank you!
Slick
Thanks!
Really nice game! I enjoyed the little challenge that came with having a set order of enemies to kill. The first game I played which made leveling up actually make the game harder to play as more damage makes it more likely to accidently kill the wrong enemy. Also, the visuals and music were fantastic! Solid 5/5.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words! Yes, we realized that upgrading all weapons makes the game more difficult, which is why we introduced the 'skip' button when choosing upgrades, but it is still a bit counter-intuitive :P
I like visual contrast and the controls worked really well
Thank you!
Really nice pixel art!
The prioritising which enemies to focus on first was a cool concept. Nice ramping up of difficulty too.
Thanks!
super fun game and love the retro vibe! could play all day
Thank you, and please do! :P
I really love this concept! It is surprisingly challenging (and fun) trying to keep enemies alive without dying.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the game :D
Nice game ! I stuck with area + health for an easier execution. I found the slash and shoot kind of difficult because it doesnt aim automatically for you. Also, great job for the different enemies behaviors !
Thank you! Area attack felt like the most difficult to master to us, so kudos on sticking with it!
Really fun and smooth gameplay, I loved it! (I'll admit I needed some practice with the area attack because it was too small for me and I was taking too much unnecessary damage heheh)
Also, the clean artstyle works very well with the game concept!
Thanks! I think area attack is probably the hardest to master ;)
It took me some time to get the controls right. But I love the art, the enemy variety and the power up system. It feels perhaps a bit weird that the main problem becomes not to kill enemies too early. Most of the time I ran away from enemies, so they don't get hurt haha. But that's a fun twist on the genre for sure
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the killing order was our little twist to get our loop going. There surely quite a bit to polish still regarding that mechanic but glad you liked the game anyway :D
Challenging little game with a nice retro look and sound. I liked the target order idea, it added extra challenge to each wave. Some of the later enemies killed me quite quickly but that might have been due to bad build choices from me. Well done!
Thanks for playing! You can also stick in a loop on purpose to get some more powerups if enemies start feeling too strong ;)
Don't know bout others but i don't understand what to do and how. but played it for a while still. didn't understood.
Thanks for playing, and sorry to hear that! The goal is to complete the conditions in each level (they are shown at the start of the level, or when you press pause). If you manage to clear the conditions/kill order on each level of a loop in one run, you can get to the next loop, else you start over. For example, if you clear all the conditions in levels 1, 2 and 3, after level 3 you go to level 4. But if you mess up the kill-order in one of the levels, after level 3 you start over on level 1 again, until you get it right. This also allows you to 'power-up' before going on to the next loop ;)
but i don't get how i attack. because it does so automatically. like. i dunno how to explain.
Yes, attacks happen automatically on a timer, you just need to move (and aim if you have the shot-attack)
oh i thought it was a bug or something. ok i'm rating a game rn. after that i'll play again and rate.
ok, so what is the shot up, area up and hp up or whatever there is. what do they mean.
Those are the powerups, shot up increases the damage of your shots (or give you the shot attack if you don't have it), area up give you an AoE attack centered around the character, and HP up increases your max HP
ok. now i get it. cz i felt that they were just levels. smh.
ok. so now as i get the game and played it. i can rate it. thanks. ngl. it really needed some narrative or tutorial
Glad it ended up working out & thanks for voting
