I like the SFX. They do get a bit repetitive, but the retro feel makes up for it. Your idea for "loop" is top-notch; very cool. The visuals are simplistic, but pleasing and cohesive.

The controls were fine, altough I do have 1 major complaint and 1 minor one. Firstly, it felt as though my input was delayed (perhaps it was only registereed upon releasing the key, instead of as soon as it's pressed). Secondly, personally, I would have liked to use WASD; I'm much more comfortable with it (ergo, supporting both arrow keys and WASD would have been nice). Regardless, I got used to the controls after a couple of attempts and did well enough.

The polish feel of biting your tail was well done; the little animated sequence is fun to watch. I also like how you handle the player hitting the walls; instead of going to a menu, you just get concussed and start again from there.

Cool submission.

I think the delayed inputs is on purpose to make your snake stay in the grid. It's also like that in the orignal snake game.
