The game is great, there might be some balancing things that should be fixed, but for the amount of time you guys had, its okay.
Super cool artwork, the concept is unique and the sound design is amazing !
There are definitely balancing issues to address for better engagement, but it's super hard to nail everything in such a tight timeframe!
That said, the core concept, artwork, and sound design are all fantastic - great job!
Indeed there are haha, a bit of forced rng on weather and items would have helped !
Thanks a lot for playing !!!
Loved the concept and the good replayability!
Thanks for playing !
I could only fully satisfy 2 frogs, the weather effects and the RNG giving me only water bottles got me T_T. Very cool management game and the art is beautiful!
2 toads is a good score with the cursed RNG we have here haha ! Thanks for your kind feedback :)
I love the idea, visuals, and perfect soundtrack! I'd love some sort of tooltip describing the different buffs/debuffs that can affect the toads. I'll definitely play this one a few more times.
Thanks for playing ! Yeah a "result" tab after the loop that explain the modfiers would have been useful
If you replay, tell us how many frogs you can satisfy (4 is the max i saw) !
Cute concept, lovely art and it's nice seeing a managing type of game. I like the ideas of managing the frogs on the trails, but damn it's kind of a tough game if you don't get the right items. My high score is two frogs fully satisfied and it felt kinda hard because I felt like I didn't always have the right items to accommodate a good portions of the frogs. Still I love the base idea and how out there some of the items are (a life insurance to reduce broken bones? A mystical charm to ward off predators? lmao those were fun), and I think with some good writing for when the frogs give you feedback if they were hurt or satisfied, I think it could be a very fun little experience!
Thanks for your precious feedback !
Yeah the experience may vary... If you get 5 fans in a row you're kinda destined to fail. I wanted to force the random loot to give you variety of resistances items but didn't have the time ! 2 happy frogs is a good score in this game, the highest i saw was 4 ! They're such dramaqueens...
I would have loved to push more the magic/end of the world vibes change at the end but well... 4 days haha !
Thanks for playing throught it!
Great artwork. I love managing and preparing units in RPG's for battles more than actually doing the battles so I'd take a game with just that and no battles (even if nobody else would), which is kinda the vibe I got from this game
Thanks all credits to our artist ! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
This is such a cozy and well-polished game. I really enjoyed the gameplay, and it fits the jam theme perfectly. The tutorial and guidance are well done, though I did have to experiment a few times to fully understand some of the mechanics. Apologies to the frogs who suffered during my learning process 🐸💔
I’m curious—have you considered turning this into a full game outside of the jam? I think it’s a genuinely great concept with a lot of potential!
Thanks a lot for playing !
Yeah it takes a bit to understand it was always just additions :D. I'm sure the toads are drama queens, a broken bone ? More like a scratch on the leg realisticly.
I usually prefer keeping my jam entries separated from my main projects. And I don't really think this on has legs to go further (other than the theme/art). But thanks that means a lot :)
I think there are a couple of hidden mechanics (well not hidden, but takes some experimentation to understand), which is expected for a game jam. Loved the presentation otherwise, and some more juice on like mouse hover etc. would've helped, and some of the UI art felt a little inconsistent (sp. the popup stuff). But overall, very chill, I enjoyed my time with it!
Haha the tootltips indeed were my work and not our artist , it shows !
Thanks so much for playing !
Sweet game!
I think at some point I didn't quite understand, what to do. I thought i equipped them appropriately but they returned injured and frightened.
Thanks for playing !
Yeah a tab for "results" of the last loop would have helped for clarity. Items + weather effect + trail effect is a bit much to follow !
:)
first time liking this kind of game
charming and endearing, I loved the music choice it suited the game well
Thanks for your comment ! Glad you like it :)
This game is so adorable and creative! I enjoyed the challenge of making sure each toad was safe.
Glad you liked it ! Hard to keep them safe tho (aren't they overdramatizing a tiny bit ?) Thanks :)
Really nice game! The artwork is amazing and the music is nice and cozy. I am not really good at such games so it took me a few turns to understand, but overall great work!
Thanks a lot for your comment :)
So adorable! I'm not mechanically gifted, so having the core gameplay being equipment and trail selection made me feel calmer despite the worry that my toads might get injured. The dying animation was adorable despite the sadness of letting a lil guy go! What a splendid lil adventure~
I'll come back to rate y'all when it's open!!
Thanks :) , that means a lot after the energy we did put in !
