I'm really bad at this but I liked it a lot. great job.
This was a really fun and fast paced game! I feel like this did a good job of making me think and react quickly in a way I didn't expect. Definitely captured that excitement of wanting to play again and beat your score! I think my only critique is I wish each run lasted a little longer so I could play the game a little more each time. Great work though, this was fun!
thank you for playing and sharing your thoughs! Im planning to update the game in the future for fun :D
That's awesome! I also have plans to update my game and re-release the new version! Can't wait to see the future of both our games!
Good luck with your ! Hope to see you again in the next jam !
man i keep misclicking to the wrong direction and going straight to lava XD
FUN GAME!
Thank you for playing! :D Don't worry; as long as you have fun, dying doesn't really matter
Nice game! i found it a little bit addictive for the feeling of mining with that sound and animation.
I enjoy it, tell me is you add a leaderboard, its will be great!
Great to hear you like it ! and well the leaderboard system migjht be a bit hard for me rn, maybe in the future. Anw thanks for playing :D
Very interesting gameplay concept, I bet programming the expanding lava must've been challenging. Would've been nice to have some sort of indication as to when it would expand so as to be able to know when it's safe to pass by, but it's not a big deal and the game is still fun. The chute showing your ores being collected is a very nice touch too.
A little tip though, you seem to have made your ingame music a positional sound source and it appears to be coming from the top left corner, this causes it to play mostly out of the left speaker/headphone ear. For music and other sounds that are supposed to be "in the player's head", you'll usually want to use an AudioStreamPlayer rather than an AudioStreamPlayer2D. Another tip regarding the music would be, in a game where you can quickly die over and over like this, to make the music a node that can persist between retries so as to not have the music restart every time the player dies. I don't know what your project structure is like, but an easy way to do this could be with an autoload.
Thank you for playing and sharing your thoughts! The lava system isn't that hard because I have made something quite similar in the past; most of the time I spend is on the lighting system. (Fun fact: It’s not just a 2D sprite, as I was planning to give players the ability to light up their surroundings with a torch, but due to time constraints, I couldn't.) And you're right! The soundtrack restarting after every retry and the AudioStreamPlayer2D are also problems that I didn't note because my speakers and headphones are kind of broken. Your advice would help me a lot when I make my next game. Thank you again! :D
Very fun and cool game!
The concept is pretty good, and the transitions are very smooth!
thank you for playing my game :D glad you like it
Fun fast-paced gameplay! The ore collection idea is simple but effective! I like the risk/reward element associated with mining valuable ores that are adjacent to lava.
I wish the game was a bit bigger or scaled with the browser zoom level, it was a bit too tiny for me to the point I had to strain my eyes a little.
BTW the score doesn’t appear to be entirely synced, did I get 618 or 639 points? :-)
Ahhh. You actually got 639( G.job!) , the score showed on the board is the score you have the moment you die,it not included the ores that are still flowing in the tube. And about the size of the game, yeah it also kinda hurt my eye, but you know …(pocket size). Anw thank you for playing and share your thought!
Simple but addictive gameplay loop! If there was a leaderboard I probably would have grinded more hehe![]()
I did try to learn how to add a leaderboeard, but yeah …. Still to soon for me
Music is a total bop! The leaderboard made the game something I kept playing over and over again. Cool game!
Yeah, the soundtrack was actually made by LBDLPROD. Anyway, thanks for playing!
I really liked fast paced gameplay, it's interesting and entertaining. Great idea!
Thank you ! I was planning to make it flow even faster :D
Underground and Pocket Size well executed.

Easily gets you hooked, I like games that are easy to get into. Great job!
Thank you for checking out my game :D
Quite a good entry! It’s quickly ramping up on you, the will to try again and have a better score :D Well done!
Thank you for playing! :D I tried to create a leaderboard system to encourage competition, but we saw how it turns out...
This game is highly addicting. I love the small space your trap in, with only the light surrounding you. The cute graphics and anticipating music as you play. The different type of ores. Can definitely see this on a phone being a mini game! Very well done on this game jam and the scope is incredibly scoped nicely. Good Job on this game Jam and I wish you luck on the game Jam! Here’s my highscore..I think? Not sure tbh I kept playing a lot lol.
Thank you for playing and your kind words :D, You can look at your highest score at the starting menu btw!
I adore the concept of this game! You know how you're playing Minecraft and you accidentally mine into a lava pit that burns you alive? Well, basically you've nailed the feeling of that in a game. It is cool to anchor the concept around the gameplay, which feels very arcadelike and fast-paced. I think you've done two things that really add depth: firstly, like Dig Dug, the pathing that you make when mining can trigger new streams of lava. Secondly, the lava is constant and follows the player through the trail they've made. Both of these really keep the player on their toes.
For constructive feedback, hmm - think about how the arcade design of the game could keep the player wanting to replay the game. Player incentive is a tricky thing. Maybe an unpredictable element or secondary threat, like the monsters in Dig Dug, are one way to add another gameplay layer. Or maybe it's just as simple as adding different types of gems that add different value to the score: this way, players are collecting gems, but trying to keep their eye out for the big one as they rush through their mine. I hope you keep on finding fun ideas like this - I enjoyed smashing and collecting gems!
My high score was 378, by the way!
Thanks for checking out SYMMACHUS and I hope you had a fun time making Mine Rush for the jam!
Whoa! First of all, thank you for playing my game and for your comment. Secondly, you're right! The game needs a secondary threat to keep the gameplay interesting. Also each type of ore in my game has its value; for example, the blue one is the rarest and most valuable ore (you can look at the description for more). Again, thanks for playing!! :D
Very welcome! And I stand corrected! I see where my mistake was - there's a slight delay before the score update, so if you're going a million miles an hour it looks like you're getting different values for what you just acquired. My bad!
Yeah! The ore needs to go to the end of the tube before it can be sold for money (score) :D
