Historical Accuracy
Based on real events in 793 at the sacking of Lindisfarne, and with attempts to incorporate realistic outfits for both factions within the scope of pixel art. Artistic license taken with the scenario - a one-sided massacre doesn't make for fun gameplay!

Thematic Relevance
It's about Vikings (although to be historically consistent, that word isn't used in-game as it wasn't a contemporary term) and they're being horrible to monks. This definitely is true to history!

Great use of music. A lot of the games assets and text seemed fuzzy and stretched. Also, at some point the game just went black and stopped playing. Regardless, the way you drip fed new abilities was cool. It made playing the same level over and over again quite enjoyable. I think if you where to continue this further, adding some more enemy verity would be neat. Congrats on finishing.

Nice wordplay on the Game Title, with an interesting minimalistic take on the God Simulation genre.

The side-scroller aspect reminds me of the Kingdom games. I think it would be cool to center the main “Numbered” attacks on the game screen, and have a better view on where the arrows will land - since there is friendly fire involved. I managed to get through three checkpoints, but not the last one.

Thank you for your entry, it was fun to play!

Charming art style and satisfying gameplay! It's a cool spin on the events that took place historically.

The pixel art style is neat, and the sound effects make the arrows and the "fire up" feel cool.

I didn't get past the 2nd level because the game sometimes crashes with this error in the console. "Unhandled Exception - Uncaught TypeError: Failed to set the 'value' property on 'AudioParam': The provided float value is non-finite."

Thanks for flagging! Might work better on the Windows version but I'll take a look at that and try to fix!

Monky Business has genuinely kept me awake at night thinking about gibblets and how the monks pose an overwhelming numerical threat. ^_^ Mad energy aside though, I really liked the ‘don’t let them respawn the shrine’ constraint, the Birds Killed detail, and the level ups. This was a whole lot of fun.

Super cute graphics, I love how the vikings and monks bounce off of each other, made it fun to watch.

Thanks! Took a bit of work to figure that out, so I'm glad someone noticed!!
