First time entering a jam here. Thanks to all who has rated/commented with their feedback. Currently working on the updated version (hopefully rectify some of the design issues). Hope to see you all again same time next year.
Final version updated. Let me know if there are any other bugs. Once again, thank you for all the support from the players. :)
kind of confusing to figure out, but fun once you do!
If you don't mind, please consider rating my game as well :)
thanks for playing. Will play yours once I get home from work.
I liked the idea, but at some point, I got stuck and I didn't know what to do anymore. Once I started using the green car, it seemed to be in a perpetual loop, and the screen navigation didn't follow the red car out, so I lost patience and quit. I do think that it's a very interesting idea, and the fact that puzzles span rooms is both really fun and infuriating :)
Thanks for playing. Thats the further anyone i know had gone. hint: you can swap the movesets, hint2: you can change the moveset in a way to allow you to move counter-clockwise instead
thank you for the hints! I might go back to the game at some point, will let you know :)
I just got to the diagonal movement and it breaks my brain!
I have 59 gold, 7 different moves, and I don't know what else I am missing haha.
After spending all this time in the game, I want to say that I really enjoyed it, and I have some more notes
1. you can tap the coloured car to switch them - probably wasn't clear that you can swap the main controlled car
2. I didn't want to code the collision. Probably can use the robot list to show the current direction. And have a combined picture when the robot are on the same tile. (Some sort of temporary fusion)
3.that will be added. Puzzles will be checked to ensure you cannot get softlocked. Save file are coming.
4. Yup. Some sort of hint system will be added to tell you that you can solve the puzzles.
5. Oh man. I counted move collected as coins. Oops. That's another oopsie haha.
Finally, that's for taking the time to play it. I can't express enough how pleased I am that someone managed to get near to the ending.
OMG I got the blue car
congratz. Haha did you find the last screen yet
I just did! So happy! I am still thinking if I should go for the secret code. Finishing with zero coins seems tough
One more little bug I just found: if I start a new game, the coins reset to zero, but once I collect a coin, I get the previous game's coin score + 1.
yup yup. Probably best to wait till I roll out the updates. Save you a lot of the frustration. I probably need a save system where if you accidentally get a coin, and u didn't get to a checkpoint. It won't count that coin. Haha
It took me a while to figure out how the game was supposed to control, but once I did, it was a pretty interesting concept with good puzzles! However, the levels need to be designed a bit more carefully. I got into two softlocks, and the second one made me quit. First one is if you get into the position shown in my screenshot, where it seems to be impossible to progress anymore. The next one happens if you exit the 3rd room to the left without using the cube (which is possible), as you become unable to pick up the cubes in the next room and get stuck there forever as the red car and can't get the coins. It also seemed like there may have been some coins you can permanently miss if you make the wrong move, which I'm not the most fond of. When designing puzzle games like this, you gotta be REALLY careful about those softlocks.
that's the most constructive feedback I've gotten so far. Didn't think you could get softlocked in the 2nd map and exit 3rd map without the block (showed that I didn't do enough playtesting). Coins are designed in a way that if you miss it, you can come back later to get ;).
oh. I found a 2nd combination that get you stuck on the 2nd map. Removing the bottom left one seems to fix it. Torn between adding a restart button as an easy way out, or test every combination so you cannot softlock yourself. Also, if you leave the 3rd map without the red block, you still can move to the next area, but having the red block do make it a lot easier.
I like how you incorporated a meta puzzle since I'm a big puzzle fan! The puzzle design was interesting and unique, I totally misread the description though and thought wasd/arrows were the controls for the longest time hahaha. Nice game!
Thanks for playing. How far did you end up playing until?
Got pretty far in the green before taking a break and then realising it didn't save
sorry. wasnt sure if i had enough time to do a proper save file, because the robots are still moving even if its not on the current map. will add that feature after the jam and reupload. and probably check points for where someone can restart their game at.
I really like the fact that the game includes the theme "LOOP" in an interesting way but the game doesn't work.
You can't interact much in the world and that's really unfortunate, besides I got softlocked in a level, and that's just no fun...
Graphics and SFX + Music are a bit repetitive and dull unfortunately...
Got very confused fast, the game needs to explain and make use of visual queues to tell play what to do.
All in all, I did not have a good experience, but hopefully it will be better next time you submit for a jam.
Interesting game, although a little confusing to me at first (many things introduced right in the first level). I like the take on the theme and the level design though!
Once I figured it out, I had fun. I liked how you slowly added more commands as the game continued.
Glad you had fun. The broken commands are in the later stages.
Was enjoyable once i understood what was going on. Challenging, but fun!
Thanks for playing. Will be add a better tutorial.
interesting puzzle design
Thanks. Did something that not many are doing, and it worked.
I like the concept, lotta different ways you could go.
The controls are not intuitive so a more thorough tutorial would help.
thanks for the feedback. Will be adding an optional tutorial for those that need clarification.
Very cool puzzle dynamic around timing the turns with the pickup/dropping - nice work!
Thanks. The timing can be slowed and sped up or even stopped depending on how one wants to play it.
Cool but hard game :). I somehow managed to get stuck on the second stage. But i like the idea!
Thanks for playing. I hope you give it a second try. Which one do you call the second stage? The 2nd map you moved into? Hint for that one is figure out where you going to place the blocks to guide you to the next exit.
Nice idea. Like others have said it was a bit hard to get into but once I figured out the controls it was a nice puzzle game to play. Good job.
Thank you. I probably need to make the controls more obvious. A tutorial is in the making.
What a great puzzle games ! I REally like the idea you got from the single word loop, and it reminded me of my early developper days doing block programmation and all lol
The only issue i got from my gameplay is that there is no tutorial and i was lost for a minute, asking myself if the web version was broken, but i eventually understood with trial and arrors
Congrats on participating
Haven't finished my playthrough yet, but so far the puzzle design seems really interesting! Took a little bit to get the hang of the controls, but spent way longer engrossed in the game. Great work, definitely gonna come and try and find the secret passcode later!
thank you. Look forward to having you back.. will you be the first one to find the secret code?
I liked the charm! The idea of guiding a robot through a repeating moveset loop feels super fitting for the theme. Once the controls clicked, it was smooth sailing. A bit more onboarding would've helped though, some folks got stuck early on. But hey, puzzle design’s tricky, and this was a solid go. Nice work :)
thanks! yea, i couldnt figure out whats the best way to onboard; tried adding the instruction in game but it has its own issues
ohhh, i get it now, but for me the screen was bugged but i clicked the instructions then it worked,
this was a very creative concept, i never thought of this when i heard loop props to u, fun gam
thanks. it's a variant to the usual (enter a set of commands that you can loop through) by allowing you to change it on the go
It's a fun game though no instruction is made to tell me how to show the map. Confused for two minutes and figure it out after reading the comments. Some of the buttons are not working.
Thanks! I just assumed someone would just tap on the instructions to clear it away (my bad). Yea, end up removing the link to quit the game for the browser version, but didnt remove the buttons.
Cool game concept, that turns into a really great puzzle once you unlock more moves! Reminds me of the board game "Ricochet Robots". Took me a minute to understand some of the controls though.
Thanks. Haha i was playing a game called gentoo rescue that was inspired by that board game, may have been inspired by that. Hardest part was designing the levels once you get all the OP moves.
