Nice game ! The snake felt a bit too reactive in my opinion even if the sensitivity is really low, the difficulty seems to really balanced, there are way too many people after like 10 seconds already.. The art and sound effect are nice and i live the idea of guarding an artefact !
Thanks! Fair points of feedback, both of these were things we did a bit of tweaking by the end but could have really continued tinkering with for a long while.
very fun
Thank you, glad you thought so!
The game is entertaining, I like how the special effects look.
Thanks! :)
This was a lot of fun to play, and a very creative idea! Who knew archeology departments were so well funded?
Maybe those artifacts they stole until this point didn't end up in a museum??
Jokes aside, thanks for the kind words!
So fun! It’s amazing how playable this was. Just pickup and know exact what I’m doing. I also really like the design, the way you’ve rewarded the player with a longer tail, making their gameplay more interesting. That’s great design!
Glad to hear that you liked it and got quickly into it!
That's really cool and well polished. the graphics and sound fit perfectly.
Thank you! :D
Just an incredibly cool game. The main loop is super catchy, the colour choices are super and the feeling of beaming some fool you've just circled is awesome, especially getting a few in there. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words! Means a lot to hear :)
Surprisingly fun for such a simple concept. I really like the art. Even though there isn't a lot of story, it is good. I really liked the starting text regarding them hitting my brittle bones and me regaining my spiny might. I got a high score of 88 and would have liked to do more but unfortunately my mouse kept messing up, it apparently doesn't like to be spun rapidly in little bony circles.
Thanks! Yeah, story wasn't really the focus for this one, we just wanted to focus on the mechanical, artistical, and musical aspects. Sorry to hear about your mouse acting up, but nice score, more than I ever got during playtesting! :D
SUCH a fun and addicting arcadey game! I got so much enjoyment out of racking up a big combo by circling multiple archeologists at once to try and get a high score! I especially liked the fact that archeologists could actually destroy parts of your body, making it easier to sneak up on them from behind and adding a layer of strategy to the whole thing, which is great! Overall, a wonderful submission that I played for like, 20 straight minutes before I realized how long i was on for!
Thank you, glad to hear you liked it so much! :D
Really love the concept!!! However I may be too stupid to actually form loops/circles around the enemies bc I kept getting
killedbefore the first bigger wave. Probably just my inability to use my mouse correctly though, haha.funnily to play!
Glad to hear!
I like the gameplay loop a lot! It is quite similar to Mousewheel (You should check it out, I think it deserves more attention than it has gotten), but I think it takes a different turn with the concept in a unique way that suits the game. I believe the arcade style is the best way to do a game about looping around enemies, as a game like this could become rather boring if the difficulty did not ramp up. I do wish that enemies were forced to spawn apart if you were below a certain length, though. From what I have experienced, if you are unable to loop both enemies, it is extremely difficult to loop one of them quickly enough before your tail gets completely demolished by 2 people mining it. Other than that, the game is great!
Thank you so much both for feedback and for notifying about Mousewheel, I agree with you completely that it deserves more recognition! Yeah, it is possible to loop around several enemies and you get bonus score for doing so, but we might want to revisit the difficulty curve on doing so as it is a bit hit-or-miss currently.
I dont know why but I take the serious Sam game vibe. the first encounter
Hadn't heard of it before but looked it up, and see what you mean! Certainly dig the humor of it.
Fun for a bit, but them eating away at the tail for good doesn’t let you make cool huge combos. Either way, cute submission, this idea could be expanded a lot! Stuff like ranged attacks, bigger enemies that need you to make bigger loops, etc.
Thanks! It was for sure something that could have done with some more balancing in hindsight. Make the enemies reduce it at a slower pace, making the tail regrow faster, etc.
Decent fun as a "Draw the loop" type game, but it punishes very quickly for infractions. I don't really understand the choice to make you incapable of wrapping up enemies and just having a slow death by attrition. I was never able to do a full combo because the extent of the wrapping never quite made sense. Plenty here worth commending, only the gameplay loop falls apart pretty quickly.
Thanks for the feedback! The idea was to keep a balance between growing large enough to get bigger combos while keeping the player in check so they could not just wipe out the enemies all at once (at one point, it was possible to encircle the entire map!). But we might have skewed it too much in the enemies favor here. While the balancing got improved since the beginning of development, some more testing and balancing could have improved things for sure.
Simple and good! At first I was afraid of touching the enemies since you start really small, but if you loop them quick enough it's easy. This can become addicting quite easily haha, good job!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!
I like the visuals of your game, although I was having a hard time understanding what to do at the beginning, overall its a good game :)
Thanks! Yeah, maybe a tutorial level or something would have made things easier. Or even just a UI element that shows some images/gifs on how to play, visually.
I missed that line in the introduction saying the enemies "might hit my brittle bone" so for a while I was very confused as to why the snake was shrinking lol. The game flowed really well once I got the hang of it, though. Very fun idea.
Yeah, some visual elements to accompany the text might have improved things there, or even a tutorial level. Glad you liked it, thanks for your feedback!
Haha I love this! Very fun to play, and I'm a huge fan of the massive laser beam of death that the skeletail brings down on the archaeologists
I'm glad you like it! And yeah, was very satisfying to see it work in-game first time hahaha
Really really fun game. Artwork was very cool and nostalgic. controls felt really intuitive for the concept. I could see this game as a fun mobile game if you decided to take it further. That said, very polished and well executed. Would love for you to play and rate our game, let us know what you think :)
Thanks for the feedback! Love to hear you liked the artwork for it - not what one might expect from Unreal Engine, but it's one that both of us dig. Interesting idea about it being for mobile, no plans for taking it further but who knows!
I'll be sure to take a look at your game some time today!
