An enjoyable card game with an interesting added narrative! The background crackle of the fire was a nice contrast with the room shakes. The only thing to be improved was the visibility of the played card was sometimes hard to see. Other than that, great game :)

It's an interesting game. I'm mildly stupid, so I could only get to level 15. I read below how you coded it in such a way that you have essentially infinite levels, very good plan to get more gameplay out of your idea! For me, I think it would really benefit from sound effects, even something very simple that you generate in 5 minutes at https://sfxr.me/ would really up the feel of the game; I know that there's not a lot of time in a jam, and you had to prioritize. The cards and the color palette are nice. Nice work. :)
It's not your computer, it was me running out of time to polish it. The highlight is a fixed width, and the collision areas for the items are small to avoid a bug I didn't have time to fix where you couldn't select one item if it was close to another. It only looks okay in the GIF because I selected items with short names and I've played it a hundred times and am expert at selecting the items.😅
For your question about luck, I think you're asking about the gameplay itself, correct me if I'm wrong. Each item has a base damage which is the same every time, and then each playthrough items can get a special quality (e.g. formerly French, soaked in holy water, made of glass) which raise their damage or might cause them to damage you.
Thanks for your comment!
Surprisingly this is the first game I've played so far that actually has a bomb with a timer on it! The graphics are crazy, the music is crazy, the bomb ticking sound is crazy, really makes you feel crazy. My GOD I've assumed my character is a FROG why are there so many PEOPLE wandering around this PARK, I've got to detonate a BOMB!! I'd play a larger version of this, with more bombs to find in more places. 👍
It's a very ambitious game. I had trouble figuring some things out, there was a lot of text explaining each area, but I couldn't see any way to get the instructions back. It looks and sounds very nice. The music, sounds, art, and writing all fit together and have the same vibe. I think it's a nice world you have created.
Really cool game. Count Down being a duck was a little too silly for me given the rest of the game, but he does fit the theme! I would have liked a more central view of the gun on the monitor as you're rotating, but I'm sure that's a style choice to have it off to the side. It's great operating the big machine, the kind of soviet-era mechanical vibe. Graphics fit well, audio is great. It has what felt like a really good tutorial, most games (including mine) just have a bit of text to explain what to do (if you're lucky), but this had full steps for each thing, building up each mechanic of the game. Really well done.
I'm stuck on level 5, that might be because I'm stupid. 🙂 It took me a couple of minutes to figure out that to rewind your steps you have to select the step you want, move down, and then press space; for me, it would have worked better if you just select the step and then press space without needing to move down to confirm. I like the art. It's simple but very cute, has a good palette, very cohesive. The music is also good, just really pleasant to listen to, I like all the pauses in it.
I loved this game. I really like the MS-paint-style art. It made me laugh out loud whenever I came back from petting a goat to find out that Henry was nearly dead, or when I came back to brew him up some berries and herbs and he was actually dead. 😂 Nice change of music between the dungeon and the other stuff. I liked the different minigames you had to do, and how there were lots of combinations of items to discover. But most of all, I loved that I'm basically off having a relaxing spa day in the countryside while Henry is getting poisoned and eaten by a slime guy.
I played it several times, imagining that I was throwing the counts down as part of a peasant revolution. 😤 I got pretty confused on why there were just a bunch of gaps you couldn't get over, died about 10 times, then read the description again and saw that there was a jump button... whoops. Really nice title screen art.
The attack button wouldn't work for me, so I kept getting killed by guards pretty easily. With more content and polish, I would play it more. I like how the tutorial text floats in the air. The game has a great look to it, I really liked how the rooftop looked. Even though it's just made of capsules and rectangles and stuff, it really looks good. Also I like that you chose 'faster' as the Itch verb instead of 'game', so the run button says 'Run faster'!
I really enjoyed this. The music was great, got my toe tapping until I shot them all. I really enjoyed the humor of the numbers walking around wearing different outfits. Spotting the vampires was enjoyable, I could see myself playing a longer version of this game where you have to find a killer that is dressed similarly to the townsfolk (doesn't have to be numbers 😅).
Would you mind pointing me in the right direction for how you got the built-in fullscreen button in the top right for Unity's web player?
