Nice game! Reminds me of VVVVV. Guys, the music is absolutely fantastic.

Love the concept! But I had some bugs with the gravity mechanic, didn't seem to work all the time.
I think making the gravity mechanic a bit more intuitive will make the game awesome!
Really loved the concept! That gravity-warping loop mechanic was super creative
The art and audio create a very liminal atmosphere! I just wasn't really sure where to go? I think for a game jam game, it's important to make it clear as soon as possible what the point / goal of the game is. Maybe that's something to improve int he future! :)
Other than that, very interesting experience!
One of the best game I've played in this jam ;-). I loved the black & white minimal artwork and audio, this made a strong impression on me. It's a world I would like to explore more, it's intriguing and I feel it could turn into hours of gameplay, improving on "what's behind that door" and "how are all these micro worlds related in the big world ?".
(someone mentioned Manifold garden, I don't know that one, maybe I have to check since I liked your game)
Some drawbacks :
- the level design could be improved
- camera issue : in fullscreen you see way farther than in small screen
- the biggest drawback I had was that the "F" key often did not work, I had troubles entering doors.
This is a very cool idea! I think it’s fairly original, I haven’t seen another game yet with the same world-rotating concept. It was a bit hard to understand at first, but I had a neat ‘aha’ moment at some point and it felt pretty satisfying. I thought the music track and the black and white pixel art with the plants and pipes and things were charming too.
I wasn’t sure what to do after wandering around a couple rooms though. I picked up a few of the glowing balls, but didn’t know what they do, and it was hard to tell the room doors apart in the big shared room since they’re identical. I think the collision window for entering doors feels pretty small too. I almost thought the doors were broken ^^; . The core concept is cool, so with more polish it could be really fun! It twists your brain.
Thanks for playing :3. Yeah the game basically has no progression or ending. We spend too much time implementing the rotation mechanic and ran out of time to implement progression and ending. And yes the doors are sort of broken, they open when you interact them from the side not when when you are over them.
This feels like a 2d version of Manifold Garden, which is kind of cool. I had a hard time getting around a ledge though
Yeah manifold garden was a heavy inspiration for this
Really detailled and well-developed world and ideas for such a simple mechanic of changing the gravity.
I did find that there wasn't much of a grace period for the player to change the gravity after walking off a ledge. Sometimes it was quite difficult to execute what I wanted to do, which detracted from my enjoyment a bit.
Yeah i understand the last part, it becomes a bit frustating. We will try to make it better in the next iterations of the game. Thanks for playing!!!
Quite creative — I like it!
The black and white sprites look good and aren’t straining on the eyes.
I enjoyed running, jumping, and exploring the different levels, but sometimes it felt like something was missing — a clear goal. It would be interesting to add an objective, like “collect all the coins behind the first door to open the next one.”
But overall, a solid piece of work! :)
Thanks man!!! We planned to like add the main goal of completing every level and finishing by clicking F near the finish door, ut due to time constraints we could not implement the finish mechanic.
I like the gravity mechanic and I reached the "Finish Game" square after some effort. Is there any more to the game? I can't go through the door. Otherwise, this is a cool demo of a game mechanic. I am curious about how you did it.
Thanks for trying it out!! The finish game mechanic doesn't work XD, we didn't have time to build the finish game flash screen. The game mechanic can be explained better by @magnitood and @headskull.
the loop thing is done by basically copying the levels on all 8 sides and seamlessly tp-ing the player ones they reach a certain threshold. The gravity rotation is just a scene rotation in Godot with a smoothstep lerp
Seems like a really fun game... unfortunately I am nowhere near good enough at platformers to access it XD Very reminiscent of Shift/Shift 2 :)
Thank you for trying it out!! The gameplay is not perfect but we tried our best for the first game ever in a game jam. Peace :)
