How does your game fit the theme?
A top-down survival game where every death spawns a ghost that replays your past actions. Use your past selves to fight endless waves of enemies. Each loop gets you further... until the cycle resets.

Cool concept! I really liked it. The UI was a little slow at times, but other than that, good job!

Very cool idea I enjoyed playing it a lot!

Love how hectic things get at the start when there's many of your past selves!

I did have some trouble with the aiming though. I think I tend to use the center of the character as the origin of the bullet, when its the end of the gun ? That often had me shooting at the wrong angle.

Overall, fun game !

cool concept for a game <3 really loved building up one large shadow self that shot in every direction hehehe, nice brain man, cool game <3

Kinda fun. I guess monsters also spawn more frequently with every attempt? I was surprised that I lived almost the same amount of time each run, even though I get more and more help

Cool idea. Its similar to my game, but mine use this as a puzzle mechanic

I really like the idea, it's pretty interesting! the only thing that felt kinda janky was that i could not move while shooting but I understand that that was probably intentional to not be able to indefinitely outrun enemies!

Great job!

Interesting game, it actually has similar mechanics to our game! I had fun trying to destroy the wave of demons through setting up the clones in a way that lasts a long time. I also like the fact that there is a barrier that damages you if you go too far from the center.

Thank you so much, Vuinn! I’m really glad you enjoyed it — sounds awesome that our games share similar mechanics. I’ll definitely check yours out too!

Interesting take! I enjoyed exploring different strategies and trying out staying in one spot so I stayed with all my ghosts. Unfortunately the game froze after 6-7 rounds. Well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you had fun experimenting with different strategies — that's exactly the kind of gameplay I was hoping for!

Sorry to hear about the freeze; I noticed that issue happens only in the web version. When I tested the .exe version, it ran fine without freezing. Still, I really appreciate you pointing it out!

Fun game and well made mechanics, but unfortunately the game froze on me a few times and I had to refresh.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Sorry about the freeze — it seems to happen in the web version. The .exe version runs fine. Appreciate you playing!

Very cool idea! Feels like playing co-op with myself LOL. The randomness of enemies spawns kind of takes away the strategy of using your shadows, they just end up fiiring in random directions and occasionally hitting an enemy.
Also, the game crashes or freezes too often, ruining a possibly good run...

Developer

Thanks a lot! Glad you liked the core idea — and yeah, I get what you mean about the enemy spawns. Definitely something I’d like to tweak. The crashes seem to happen mostly in the web version; the .exe build runs more stable. Really appreciate the honest feedback!

Very nice interpretation of the "past self" concept! A bit like Company of Myself, but in a vampire-survivors setting. How I perceived it:

  • Standing still while firing brings you quite a bit out of the flow.
  • Shooting through enemies is a very nice touch, it allows to tactically line up.
  • I'm not sure what happens off screen, but it would be interesting to allow strategies like "spread in all directions and shoot around wild"
  • What _is_ a bit a pity is that enemies have different locations every time, so past selves are basically shooting randomly, and how much they hit is mostly luck. Maybe some light guided missiles or so could be added, although that might be too easy?
Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! This was actually my first game jam — and also the first game I’ve ever exported — so I really appreciate your thoughts. I agree about the randomness issue, and your idea about guided missiles is super interesting. Definitely something I’ll explore if I work on it more!

Wow, for a first game jam / exported game, this is truly impressive. You are definitely very talented, please keep making games :)

I really enjoyed your game, each game made me feel like I'm building my army. and i love how we both got the same concept but made 2 completely different games XD

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it — and yeah, it’s so cool how we both had the same core idea but ended up with totally different games 😂

Also, I just realized we’re both Arab — love seeing more of us in game jams!

Fun idea. It really felt like I was being helped by my past and helping my future.

The decision to make your character stop moving every time they shoot was really good, it made you think a bit more carefully. The game unfortuantly kept freezing for me so I never got to finish it and I also had enemies dying when I wasn't shooting which was odd. Some background music wouldn't have gone amiss eitehr. Nevertheless, the game has a lot potential from what I saw.

Developer

I hadn’t noticed that issue in my engine, but after testing it here, I saw it happen — seems to only affect the web version.

About enemies dying without shooting: they should only die if your past self hits them, so that’s likely what you saw.

Thanks a lot for the review! You pointed out things I completely missed — and yes, some music would’ve helped!

Oooooh, I really like that take on past self gameplay!  That might be the most fun I've had trying to plan out in real time where to stand so that my past self could cover one side of the map while I'm on the other, nice job!

Developer

So glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun building around that past self mechanic — awesome to hear it made the gameplay more engaging for you!

The concept is really great. I didn't even realize ten minutes had passed ahahahah

Developer

Thank you very much for your review. I’m glad the game was able to hold your attention.
