I never thought I'd see this kind of toy nowadays... I don't even remember what it's called lol. It's pretty great and nostalgic, and a unique take on the theme I never would have thought of. Congrats!

Developer

We literally googled "water game with loops" to find references, haha! Very happy to know that you find it unique and nostalgic :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow, great job making this feel exactly like the real thing. This was so fun! It would be nice to be able to move/remove upgrades because I accidentally placed a spinner right above my hook and screwed myself over.

Great job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, our technical artist really nailed the feeling of the game! Happy that you had fun.

Yes, we absolutely want to add that functionality after the voting period ended :)

Brought me back to my childhood, great nostalgia and good use of the theme! the upgrades felt nice and the game felt very polish good job :) very relaxing to play

Submitted(+1)

Perfect nostalgia, and its so satisfying  and plays well! I love the upgrades, very neat concept, congrats!

Incredible! One of the most enjoyable games I've played this jam! You guys did a really good job capturing the nostalgia and it feels so satisfying to play. The physics feel great. Too bad about the bug in the red container, I would've loved to play that one a bit more.

Developer

thank you so much! Making it satisfying was a big goal of ours - glad it paid off! Thanks for your nice feedback :)

Really nice take on the clicker gameplay ! It's really chill, loved the mood.

Can you tell me how do you detect code side if a loop is in a pike, really curious about it?

Developer(+2)

glad you liked it!

Our programmers did it all with 2D colliders - and 2D rigidbodies, limiting the rotation of the 3D rings. There are 2D colliders on the left and right side of a ring and a trigger collider in the middle. This enables the rings to slide onto the colliders of the pikes and then the trigger triggers the timer/scoring!

Submitted(+1)

Oh I get it, smart ! Thanks for the explanation !!

Developer(+1)

The colliders actually are there that the rings only go on hooks but not into each other or the spinner. The on Hook state is just a trigger collider around the hook that checks if a ring's center y is above the hook's position and it's x position is inside the hook's width range.

Thank fof the further details !

I'm surprised at how good the physics are in this!

Developer

yeah, our lead programmer/tech artist really cooked with that one. 🎊

It is a quite relaxing game. A very creative way of using the theme. I spent too much time playing it and my only gripe would be the issue with the tank upgrade (altough you mentioned it on the page).

Developer(+1)

Thanks for enjoying our game! And yeah, the tank upgrade will be fixed after the voting period, so maybe you wanna try it out then again :)

Submitted(+2)

Oddly soothing to play. Kind of reminds me of a pachinko device or pinball. In terms of upgrade strategy, I couldn't really figure what is good to do. I tried all of the upgrades, but I found it hard for many of them to feel like an upgrade in terms of allowing me to score more points, or score points faster. Also, I placed one bumper quite poorly (I thought it might score points at first), and I couldn't figure out if I could remove or move it still. When I upgraded the tank, I was left with just The One Ring, and when i scored it nothing else spawned!

All in all, you have an interesting concept here! I think you have a good start to a solid idle/incremental game if you iron out the upgrade system, and maybe add some automation upgrades perhaps, and add some juicy score collecting animations. Turn this bowl of water into a bowl of dopamine!... and water!

Good job on your submission ! Good luck with the rating period!

Developer(+1)

I am happy to hear that you played our game so much! Your points are absolutely valid and we really wanted to go into the "incremental" and maybe automation direction - but we ran into some major time consuming problems which lead to us not having time to properly polish. The broken second watertank and not being able to sell or move stuff after placing them are a result of that - also that it's difficult to to actually see benefits in the bumpers or spinners. Thanks for your clear feedback and nice words :)

Such a great take on an old classic, loved it <3

Submitted(+2)

Very nice game, and artwork is amazing!!!

Developer

Thank you so much! It was fun working in this artstyle :)

Submitted(+2)

Loved the game. It is better than the original physical toy hahaha well done ! When I upgraded the tank, I lost all rings.. I would've kept playing xD

Developer

Yeah sadly that happens - we found that bug just after uploading, we plan to fix it after the voting period! Glad you still enjoyed it and would have kept playing :)

Submitted(+2)

Is this a Severance reference?

It's quite simple yet definitely has a satisfying charm.

I feel like some UI tweaks to convey that you need to drag and drop shop items could be a welcomed addition, has I expected items to spawn at preset locations just by clicking.

Developer(+1)

Not intentionally! haha

oh yeah absolutely, when I first tested it, I had the same feeling but sadly no time as we had to focus on other things :(

Submitted(+2)

Holy crap this is as adictive as the real thing, specially given that theres a store and I can place stuff wherever I want. Super well made an implemented, really awesome, congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! sounds like we reached our goal :)

Submitted(+1)

This game is too adictive!
Upgrading the tank is fun, and being able to move the tank sideways really help adjust the loops.
Hitting a combo is really satisfying but I could sadly never get a x3.

I did get to upgrade the tank size, but it made the loops disappear. I think getting a better tank should at least refund your other upgrades as well.

A great game! Congrats!

Submitted(+1)

This was so much fun!!! Honestly, I didn't realize you could buy things until I got like 600 coins and I had been wondering what did you use them for LMAO.

Very original and fun concept, I love it! I just wish there was more loops as others have said.

Submitted(+2)

I've missed opportunity to edit bumpers or spinners after i put one inside. And there is defenetly should be more loops. Much more loops.

Good game, so relaxing

Developer

Yeah - we hope to add that after the voting period, we simply ran out of time and into too many issues, haha! We also planned to add "more loops" as an upgrade... :)

Submitted(+1)

Brings back memories! The implementation is detailed and well done :) Great job!

Submitted(+1)

I'm not familiar with the original analog version but this was more fun than I anticipated. What was the most difficult thing developing this game?

Developer(+1)

Happy to know it also is nice for people that haven't played this in their childhood, thanks for trying it out!

Mhm, probably three things. Getting the 3D loops interact well with 2D stuff, water physics and the shop - which was broken until 3 minutes before submission!

Submitted(+1)

As soon as I saw this it felt so obvious as a response to the theme. I can't believe how fun this was lol

Developer

Thank you for that nice feedback!
