I'm so sorry I could not rate it during the jam but this is really good, for some reason I was really on edge during the entire game and it felt like something was always aroud the corner, btw you're playing The Game! I would have given this a 4 on everything tbh

Thank you so much :)!

This is pretty dang cool. I liked the part about The Game, because that was the greatest evil of my childhood.

Developer

I am glad you enjoyed it :).

Very, very clever and subtle mind tricks in those texts. My compliments!

Thank you so much :)!

loved the concept ...nice 3D game ...only thing that bothered me was the speed of the player ...it was very slow ...but apart from that nice entry :)

Developer

The slow movement and lack of running mechanic are artistic choices. However, I get it, it's quite annoying for some. Thank you for playing :)!

Never really been a fan of walking simulators, but item collection draws me in.  I couldn't quit till I found every egg and also walked over the entire thing again just to make sure the eggs did nothing.  On a side note, walking on a diagonal seems to make you travel faster, like it wasn't normalized.  But yeah just a little faster walk would have been nice.  But great take on the theme!

Developer

It's great that you find the egg collection interesting. If you walked back and forth, I can see how the walking speed could have been an issue (and yes, diagonal movement is faster, but it doesn't really matter). Thank you for your feedback and comment. As for the eggs: Not everything should be known and not everything should be found.

I just wanted to see if something bad happened if I got all the eggs.  ;-)

Insanely creative take on the jam theme. I love games that feel like their almost part essay - it's so interesting how the medium of gaming can be utilised well to convey unique ideas. You've made a good showcase.

9/10 eggs found.

I am really glad you enjoyed the game!

I love this! Not many people attempt 3D games for Trijam, but you nailed it. The ambiance is excellent, and the overall experience is very immersive. The pin drop was a great touch.

10/10 game

10/10 eggs

Excellent submission!

Developer

Thank you so much for such a positive comment :)! It genuinely means a lot.

The eggs were tough to find haha or maybe im just bad. The concept was very interesting and  this was my first walking simulator and it was very pleasant. It reminds me of an early in progress Stanly Parable, the original one.

Developer

Thank you for playing. Good that I didn't put you off walking simulators :D. I am really glad you enjoyed the game!

I love this, what a perfect concept for the jam theme and for a short walking simulator.  Very complete and polished for 3 hours, don't know how you had time to add an egg mechanic (I only got 6)

Developer

Thank you so much! The game is entirely made from small, simple scripts. [player camera raycast -> destroy egg on click] and [count all objects with a certain tag and update UI text]. Then you just have to place the objects around with the correct tag and a collider. The most difficult part was actually the writing.

Submitted

That was definitely an experience, it genuinely made me think for a bit thank you and good luck!
(10/10 eggs btw)

Thank you so much for playing :)!

I heard the sound ;)

Nice ;). Thanks for playing.

Ok, more feedback.

I get all the eggs, so I think I finished the game. First, the positive points. The way you show the theme and expand the game about this point of view is fantastic, very clever, minimalistic in visuals and art (for me this is good and interesting). A fresh view of the theme. I liked a lot playing it, because I wanted to know more about it.

On the negative points, experience lack some “juice”, and, IMO, the movement need to be a little faster (like 20% more, maybe). And there is some info that are less interesting than other.

Please, keep going with this project in the next session of Trijam 333 (part 2). I want to see more details of “Things You Can’t Unknown” ^^

Thank you so much for this comprehensive feedback. I've noticed a few players complaining about the movement speed, so if I decide to update the game, I will focus on that problem. As you mentioned, some information is less engaging, I agree - but also as a game developer: [more info] = [broader audience] = [something for everyone]. As for the "juice", I am not entirely sure what "juice" to add. I am open to suggestions. What do you think could make the game even better? Perhaps some sort of interactivity with the environment?

I will see if I continue working on this game, I will see... Thank you once again.

More interactivity could be nice, or minor aspects that enrich the walking experience, that make a game feels like a living entity. In my game, I spent 6 minutes of development to add a breath with vapor for the player and a sound. Not necessary, but introduces something visual that feels alive. Even if no one notices it (consciously) is still there. Then, when the player falls down, instead of put a screen or a message, I only changed the breath to an altered one. The player knows that the fall had a cost (the flame is lower now).
