Ooh, another racing buddy! I like the concept of racing your past self with each lap, though it feels like to get a high score you're incentivized to play poorly rather than well. I'm not sure how this could be fixed, but once I just let myself go fast it was really fun to race myself!

How does your game fit the theme?
As long as you can beat your ghost you can keep on racing on the looping track!

Hi hi racing buddy! It's not the most novel mechanic but I'm happy you liked it :)
Yes it's true. I think the timer is confusing as it doesn't have any purpose and is a leftover of another feature I threw out xD in the end I wanted the game to be about just hitting turn after turn controlling the drifting, and not so much about how fast you can finish a lap.
Nice entry. The music is awesome (though I feel like I would have enjoyed it more without the vocals).
Although the visuals was obviously a big draw to the game, when I actually play it, I think the constant "movement" of the lines feel a bit too distracting. I also would have like sound effects on the car/ship.
I had a hard time getting used to how floatey the vehicle felt, I feel like I needed more feedback from the track on where it counted I was "touching", and the skybox having some landmarks that could make the track easier to memorize. I really liked the art style and the vibe!
really nice track design, sounds fit, controls are really good, thank you for this entry. Maybe you check out our skybox for some inspiration for next time, if you like.
Stylish racing game with good music! A nice concept well executed, the only thing is that there is no real reason to have your first ghost be a good time, making the following laps easier to complete, but great game!
Thanks, happy you enjoyed it!
Honestly the timer is meaningless. It's a relic from when I was showing the time between you and your ghost, but I took that out. I probably should have taken the timer out as well as it might be confusing.
Either way, it still stands that some people might want to hold back on every track and stretch it out like that, but if that's how they enjoy the game then who am I to stop them? :D it's like those people in Mario Kart World who hang back just to get the better powerups in the last lap. If that's your style, go for it!
cool game! i found it a bit hard to stay on the track at times, and i think the ghost system incentivizes you to do poorly on your first rounds. maybe there could be a minimum time to beat before your ghost appears? either way, good job on completeing this by yourself!
Looks and feels good, I'm a sucker for racing in space. Good job!
i really like this!! the variety in the levels and racing yourself is really fun. this red dude ahead of me does NOT know how to drive
Interesting! Controls take some getting used to, as other people have said. I also feel like the camera angle doesn't quite allow me to see what's coming up next at times, and together with how wide my turns felt even when I was drifting, the speed boosts almost felt more like a trap than something I would want to get whenever I could. I also had one weird procedurally generated track where there was a very short, sharp ramp right before the finish line, lol. The aesthetic's pretty good, and the music works pretty well!
Overall, not bad!
Yeah, I hear you about the boosters. There are definitely times where I actively avoid them instead of aim for them. Definitely something that will be tweaked if I ever make a full release.
Haha, the little ramp at the end happens sometimes. It was surprisingly tricky to get those to align, weirdly enough.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! Really happy that you enjoyed the game :)
Great style! Love the feeling of the track flowing with you, and the particles on the drift. Like another commenter, I also enjoyed the medium a little more than the large. But I do agree the large is necessary to get the hang of the driving style, so good call imo.
Would love to hear your thoughts on my project! :)
