Congrats, you made my favorite game so far. Everything from the controls to the music to the sound effects, everything was on point. I played this game longer than I care to admit. If I have to give any feedback on how to improve, I'd say so more enemy variety and some other ways to interact with the world, maybe some powerups. I also died the first time playing but I had no idea why so maybe a healthbar or something would be nice too. Halfway the game the sound dropped, probably because of the many enemies I was enveloping. Congrats on this game it was really nice!
Thanks for playing. I did not test to the point where the sound breaks so that's interesting to hear haha
Main mechanic is fun, and music is good! I don't think you can really lose though, enemies don't deal much damage. Got the dragon to cover almost the entire map but that didn't count as a loop (probably is a good thing). Making a half-map loop works, but produces extreme sounds and drops fps to ~2
Thanks for playing. You are right, I didnt have a ton of time to actually limit test the game haha, I was struggling with balancing as it was moving between super hard and way to easy. In the end I opted for an easier game to make it more accessible.
Really neat mechanic, I love how good the dragon looks and wrapping yourself around enemies to kill them is really satisfying. Good job!
Enjoyed the art and audio greatly! I found wrapping around enemies to be really fun, but it felt like the score incentivized the player to disregard this mechanic, ignore the enemies, and farm pots, as you could take down the pots rather quickly with lower risk of losing score. Still enjoyed trying to become massive, although my frames dropped noticeably at over 100 score.
This could be really good with some more time put into it. It's a great idea and still fun even though some things like the bit are a little clumsy at the moment. I was also a little confused on when I was supposed to bite an enemy versus encircle them. Maybe make it more obvious when their armor breaks?
Great idea and solid implementation!
I think the bite mechanic is not integrated nicely and could be removed for a tighter experience, it was weird to figure out what and when to bite, when the core mechanic was to loop around enemies (which felt better to do anyway)
Other than that I think with some more polish and some bug fixes (getting stuck, some enemies not moving) this is a very nice entry!
Liked the art.. it was fun to play... Great Game!!
- The dragon is very cute, the pixel art is very nice!
- I liked the touch of the dragon slowing down when you are holding down to bite, it adds a satisfying amount of game feel.
- I do feel like the green enemies had too much health, but maybe I didn't understand how to deal more damage
- Circling the enemies to kill them by constriction is very neat.
Good job team! Congratulations on the entry!
Thanks for your review.
Originally they had only 3 hp, but I gave them 4 because I also reduced the time required to bind them, but maybe I should have kept the hp of the enemies at 3 max..
How cool is the pixel dragon?? Loved the theme! I thought the dragon moved a bit too fast at first, but I got used to it pretty quick and it ended up feeling just right. Keep up the great work!
It's really satisfying to constrict the enemies, nice job!
