Cute game!

I think your idea is really good!

The only thing I would like is some more forgiving timing to the player :P

Otherwise a short but creative and fun game :D

Submitted(+1)

It's a tad short indeed, but that's a promising concept ! Kinda remind me of mighty switch force in a way!

Good job !

Submitted(+1)

It's cute! There's a bit of a difficulty on finding the exit because it blends in with the background, but it's fun overall! I'd love to see some more levels!

Submitted(+1)

Keep developing your ideas!

This reminded me of the really fun mechanic beat blocks in Mario games. I think what they did really well is clearly telegraph when the platforms would change:

Perhap using a clear beat in the background and or adding some visual indication of what will happen next, perhaps using a flashing or pulsing animation would help.

I found myself staring at the countdown and trying to move in my periphial vision. Also it was not always so clear when to jump as the countdown would show 0 seconds left for a certain ammount of time?

It's a cute game and I really hope you explore this idea more!

Developer(+1)

Oh I didn't know that game before. That looks awesome.

That would've been a nice idea, to show a pulse or something on the platforms. Good idea!
For now, nothing is planned on going back to that idea, but who knows what the future holds :).

Thank you for your feedback!

Cute Character Cool Concept, but is hard to jump properly I stuck in Level one for a long while.

Developer

Yeah, it's not that easy. I heard a lot, that people didn't know that they could use "Shift" to run. That could  make it a bit easier :)

Submitted(+1)

Very cute. I always love games cats in them.
The first jump took a bit to figure out but after that was a fun little mechanic

Ty for checking out mine

Developer

Animals in games are the best! :D
Yeah getting to know the timing is not that easy. And when not running it can be very hard to get onto the first platform.

Submitted

Good classic platformer mechanic for a theme about loops! Well done!

Unfortunately, I really struggled on the first level to jump high enough for the first platform. Perhaps a permanent platform to take a rest on as you climb each step would help for level 1 too. I found level 2 much easier than level 1; perhaps switching them would have helped too.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for you feedback. Did you try to use the „Shift“ key to run? That should make it way easier.

Submitted(+1)

Nice concept with a cute art style! I super appreciate the inclusion of a proper menu screen with settings that fit the art style of the game, that's not something I see enough of in game jams lol. That said, the player movement was a little weird and unforgiving, almost like gravity was too strong? Not sure how to describe it. I also liked the hints at a story when the hole changed with each color layer :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Yes I also miss a lot of set up settings in jams. Or at least something to turn down volume. So this one was important to me.

I hear you with the player movement, did you try to run with „Shift?

Submitted(+1)

The game is absolutely stellar with its refreshing art style. I adored it so much that I blazed through two levels craving more!

That said, the jump controls feel frustratingly inconsistent; when missing platforms, the character often gets wedged against their edges, completely freezing movement.

Developer

Hey. thank you so much for your feedback!

Yeah, that's the biggest pain point in the game, definitely! And something to keep an eye on with the next game / jam.

Submitted(+1)

I liked the game's premise. The only thing that bothered me was that player movement seemed clunky, and it took me a while to get used to it

(+1)

THIS IS SO ADORABLE! And a pretty neat concept its just like the game called, "Runbow" which is cool, and this is cool, nice job!

Submitted

It might have just been the device I was on but I had a lot of lag as well as movement felt very stiff. Art is charming and mechanics were nice

Developer

Sorry you encountered lagging. I guess that part is your device. But the controls itself are improveable, so that is not on your end. Thanks for the feedback :)!

It's a fun little game, I wish there were a few more levels. I like the color palette and the art style. It would work well to add some squash/stretch on the jump and maybe some fun background sprites. I didn't realize initially that the hole was the escape area, so maybe that could be more visually prominent. The color change would allow for some interesting development of a scary backstory thru environmental storytelling, if you expand on this game idea!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Very much appreciated and I like your ideas! Unfortunately, there are no plans on re-visiting this game as it was just a "warm-up". But maybe for future game ideas with another platformer or whever these mechanics fit.

Thank you! :)

oooooooooh so sweeet and cute, i liked the art, the player movement was frustrating at the begining but got the hang of it good job

Developer

Thank you! We put a lot of effort into the art.

I couldn't agree more with the player movement. We need more practice with this. But thank you for hanging in there and make it work!

Submitted(+1)

The art is adorable! I don't think I'm the best at it; on the first level I clipped through the wall a couple times trying to jump onto the first platform, but a cool concept nonetheless. I liked the level designs, and once I figured out the timing on the color switches it was pretty quick. I would love to see more levels some day if you ever decide to revisit this idea!

Developer

Yeah that wall clip. Something with those colliders in Unity. Full enclosed, but still somehow you can squeeze through.
And I think getting the level done is not you lack of skill, but that it's indeed hard and not such a good implementation of the player movement.

This was just a small little getting back into making a game quick, before we start with a big project outside of jams. So we probably will not put any more effort into this.
Thank you for trying our submission!

Loved the cute cat! Struggled to get into the rhythm of the jumps but it's a nice idea!

Developer(+1)

Hehe thanks!

Yeah completely valid with the jump/controls. There is a "shift" control for running which a lot don't seem to know about, which makes it a bit easier. But there is still a lot of improvement to the controls :D.

Thanks for testing our game!

Submitted(+1)

Aaah thank you! I'll play with that now. Cheers!

Submitted(+1)

W art, this was probably the hardest platformer in the jam but bravo!

Developer

Yeah :D I guess it is. Without ever wanting it to be.
The art was the main reason for us to join the jam. Myhko made all the art asset and just recently got into making game art. Started out with blender, but since this is now 2D it was at least a way to train drawing and stuff and getting back into making games for him.

Thank you :) !

Submitted(+1)

Fun! That first jump was the most difficult.

Developer

Haha, oh yes. :D Couldn't let you all start easy. No, but honestly maybe overlapping the adjacent cycle for a second or so would've been better and a bit easier. Also for potential other levels (we never managed to implement).

Thanks so much for playing and the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Fun! Kind of reminds me of Runbow.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Never heard of runbow. But seems like a game I need to check out.
