How does your game fit the theme?
your driver gets you to a haunted house to rob. the ghost twists his mind and makes him return to the house every time turning it to an unescapable loop

I'm sorry if this review is lacking. I really want to judge the game fairly, but the door just not letting me in was gamebreaking enough that I don't want to spend too much time attempting to figure out a workaround. The lack of sound detracts from the spooky ambience. Some nighttime sounds on the outside could sell it well, even if minimal. Cicadas, crows, other stereotypical spooky night sounds could work! If it's any consolation, the spooky vibe with the environment design works well.

I agree with some other comments in that an ingame tutorial would certainly be more user-friendly, though. But that's just a slight nitpick.

I appreciate the effort put into trying to get something out though! I hope my words won't discourage you from keeping it up. You made it this far with only 4 days of development, surely it'll be much better with more. Good luck on your future endeavors!

Developer

btw are you interested in helping me out in a game project I am working on it is called CivSurvival, a game where 100s of players join one world to build and simulate civilzations

I liked the concept, environment and world design. There are a few bugs that needs to be fixed, like entering the house, and the collisions on the truck (also maybe make the lighting brighter for the first round) but overall for a jam game it's a great accomplishment . Nice!

You nailed the atmosphere with the silhouettes of the buildings against the sky. Very Halloween cartoon spooky vibes. I tried following along with the How to Play page, but I think mine must've bugged out a bit as I got in the house once, but it wouldn't let me back in on second try (would quickly switch in and out).

Seems like a really big project to undertake for a game jam though so great job getting everything done that you did!

Developer

thanks I appreciate it alot I am also planning to turn it into a multiplayer game similar to lethal company, the door bug is a bit common it happened to me while playing testing and I couldn't fix it cause of time. but by doing it multiple tries you will eventually get out thank you for your feedback

It's a fun idea, but I think the scope is a little bit too much for a jam. I figured out how to drop an item by randomly mashing all buttons (it's G) but I couldn't figure out a way to enter the haunted mansion.

The scene looks a little bit too dark but it's okay for night time. If most of the game is supposed to actually be played inside, it's probably okay. ☺️

Developer

actually the game is supposed yo be played inside when you go the door of the mansion which is at the left of the truck it says press E to interact dont press E, rather hold E and be patient it takes about 2 seconds to get you in if you dont just try again eventually you get in it is kinda bugged

Submitted

Oh, I didn't realize you have to hold E to open the door but I tried again and managed to get inside and walk around the house. Still, I think an in-game tutorial would improve a game a lot!

Submitted

I couldn't even really play it unfortunately. A small window of text explaining the controls and objective better would've made the experience more playable

Developer

Read the tutorial it explains all controls and everything

very not ethical to keep spamming "please rate my game" under every single game..

The 3D models are nice and give a terror atmosphere. It would be cool to see this become an actual horror-multiplayer to play with friends

the game look interesting, I'll try.

If possible, can you please vote my game and leave a comment too?

thanks for rating my game as well.

NICE game! with an improvement in UI and other features this game would be so much interesting! GG

I liked the idea, but sadly the game kept bugging on me. I could manage to look around the house (and literally around the house too, got out of bounds once lol) but finishing even one round was impossible

It's like a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, one time you take stuff, and another you have to drop. Controls were a bit hard to understand at first, I didn't know you can drop the item pressing G, and that you can go inside of the truck. I would suggest making it simpler to go into the truck without having to jump, and have the control buttons explained in-game. Some  guidance and feedback at what to do when he tries to buy a some upgrades or go to the next level would be good. Like you did with the "Drop items now" message. But overall it's a nice idea. Well done!

Developer

thank you man appreciate it alot the controls are a bit similar to  game called lethal company but in future updates I will make sure to make the game better thanks alot man

Oh I didn't play Lethal Company, that's why

Well done on submitting something for the jam! I like the decision making aspect of when you are possessed and having to think about what you want to keep but because it is single player you don't get as much out of it as you would with other people. Would love to see what this would be like as a multiplayer game!!

Developer

thanks alot man I appreciate it when it is multiplayer it will be a ton of fun it will be a bit similar to among us where if you are possesed you have to hide yourself amongst the teammates as you are a good one and not possessed but sabotage them  before you die if they know you are possessed you gotta convince them otherwise. thank you man

I really like the concept of this game! It is a good idea, and has potential to be a fun multiplayer game. I hope you continue working on it. I did not enjoy the game very much in its current state, simply because there is not all that much to do without multiple people (and since the door took some time to open I ended up getting possessed before getting it open from the inside. However, it is still pretty fun as is and I think it will be great once it has multiplayer!
