Cute game! Love being a little rat, very cute. I couldn't get past the upside down part tho :( all the doors were too high to reach. Idk if I was supposed to do something else...

Awesome, I am glad you enjoyed playing as this character.

In that level you double jump on the torches to use as platforms. If I had more time I would of made something more obvious but it is what it is. lol

Oh bruh, idk why I never tried double jumping. I probably would've figured it out if i knew I could double jump. Just completed the upside down level! Unfortunately my computer didn't have enough memory to do the next part :( It seems to have trouble with unreal games. But I love the level design :)

Wow that’s weird. That last door is loading from one map to another map which houses the final room. The first map has all the rooms and you just teleport from one to the other when you go through those doors. I set it up this way so the final room fully resets if you miss the cheese at the end. So you are  loading more for the part you were able to play and a lot less for the part the computer crapped out on. I know it takes a toll to jump between maps but to say you don’t have the memory for it just doesn’t make sense when you have the memory for the larger part of the game. But I’m not that kind of computer person so I’m sure my IT friends would laugh and tell me exactly what’s going on. Lol

Regardless glad you enjoyed the levels you could play. The final room is a piece of cheese being tossed in the air over a hole and you gotta dash to catch it so you didn’t miss much.

Hello. I  just came out with my first early build demo of this mouse game and am getting the word out.  - https://milantique-studios.itch.io/a-maze-in-mouse-demo-01

The level design is really cool! I love the checkerboards and all the different rooms. The mouse character and his little gliding animaton is so cute. Honestly really solid results for a solo-dev in a 96 hour jam, I had heaps of fun with this one

Developer

Thanks. I didn't think anyone would watch the video telling my jam process. I am glad you enjoyed playing it.

The game feels a bit unfinished, but else a fine little jam game.

XD yes it is quite unfinished. I posted a video on the game page telling what I was doing for the 4 days but yeah this was defiantly a learning experience. Can't wait for the next one.

I liked the concept and the levels were definitely challenging especially the first one with the swinging axes that one was a bit difficult. I did either find a bug or just a really hard level with the upside down one. After the room with the platforms and ceiling spikes my game inverted and it became impossible to get through the doors.

Great job and good luck in the jam!!

Developer

Hmm. What do you mean by inverted? The upside down level was literally the previous stuff rotated upside down which caused some weird bugs. One I encounter was when you hit the spikes, you get teleported  so you don't get stuck in the pit. But because I rotated that blueprint on the ceiling it rotated my camera or character too when I teleported. I thought I fixed that but does that sound like what happened?

And thanks. This jam was a great way to prototype level ideas.

Hello !
The games looked fun but it doesn't seem that I can pass the first level ? All the doors are closed and I can't interact with them sadly :/

Nevermind ! Found my way through ! Really cool game, but the /!\Warning Spoiler/!\ upside down theme is really hard :D

Thank you.

I should of made the doors a different color or something to show which ones you can dash through vs not. But I am glad you were able to figure it out.
