I like the fog of war concept for a looping game and uncovering the map as much as you can, cool stuff! The gameplay felt a little slow and a little too punishing, but I still had fun with it. Nice job!

I have been planning an option to speed up animations and undo that would speed up game play and made mistakes less punishing. Unfortunately deadline came first. I will add them after game jam finishes. Thank you for the feedback

A very creative game. I can't say I was good at it, but I liked the strategic exploration and puzzle solving of it.  I will say, the reach of the enemy's tentacles is not intuitive: its tentacles are barely in the square and then it kills you, which feels cheap when I'm learning the game.  Similarly, and I don't know if it's just me, but the enemy eyes not being in the center of a square makes its confusing as to how far away they are.  It distorts my mental grid.  However, I'm rooting that you get a high placement in the creative category, cause this is a creative and fun game.

Thank you. Tentacles move in circle around an eye.  In fact collision areas of octopus and mage  cover whole sprites so collision appears "on contact". I think decreasing size of areas would solve issue  collision would appear then  "on overlap"  alternatively animation of catching player character could make a trick.

Eye are not on the grid because due to some default settings layers of dark cloud and monsters are offset by half a grid in relation to player grid. When I noticed I already had levels ready so I had to roll with it 😅.

I love it and played it for hours.

Really cool game! It kinda stressed me out how little time I had at first, but it makes sense since you keep starting again with the actions of your past self. Definitely a creative and interesting take on the theme!

Developer

Yes that exactly what I aimed for.  Too long loops could undermine core concept of time loop and a bit tension is positive addition since fight with overwhelming enemy is theme of the game. Thank you for feedback.

neat puzzle game! i liked the concept and overall narrative of the game - i think it could benefit from overall speed up of the animations and some sfx.

when i first played it, it wasn't obvious to me that my goal was to light up as much of the map as possible - though this might just be me! perhaps some indicators or narrative instructions could help (the more obtuse players like me)

It is not only you 😅. I got similar feedback from other people.  For now I will add this in description. After Game Jam I am planing to add tutorial about a goal and some satisfying sound effects. Thank you!
