Very well made. The art is just the minimum but the gameplay loop is cool. Pretty hard lol, well done.

I love racing games and this approach and creativity is really good. The chaos 💥. The controls and camera can be improved a little though, overall great game,

I love the idea!  Lots of fun to play.  The camera made me feel a bit motion sick though, and I would have liked to indulge in the chaos a little bit and crash into my other selves without instant death.  Good stuff overall :)

Developer

Good idea!  I think I might add a sandbox mode in the future for just messing around.

Cool game! I saw one similar to this, but this is very well made too.

Such a creative game! Extremely addicting and even though the controls were super slippery, did feel smooth. I just think that there's a bit of a gameplay oversight with going into grass to slow down alot which means that you could go off track (which i assume should be discouraged) so that you are less likely to crash.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, you can cheese it a little, but then you have to deal with your past self's cheese on later laps, so I feel like it mostly balances out.  That strategy is also less effective on later levels.  Thanks for playing!

Clever concept! My favorite part about this game is that my strategy for the first race worked because I started going faster, but for the second race I had to think of something else because I kept getting slower! Very clever.

I also made a racing game with a completely different take on the theme! I enjoyed this, it's surprisingly difficult to not drive into the other cars, but I only have myself to blame. I'd love to see this a bit more polished! Also, I feel like I was getting dizzy with how the camera was moving. Good job!

Really fun game! The controls work great, and it's a very creative way to fit the theme. I also really liked the sound of the car skidding, nice touch!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!  My family was laughing at me making car sounds into my microphone for this.

Great game 🙌The controls are quite nice and the concept actually creates some cool solutions to encountered problems like slowing your car down with the grass in the current loop to prevent crashes with other loops 👌

Visuals are really legible and the driving controls feel good! The camera could probably be a little bit less tightly coupled to the car movement, but overall nice work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, there was some work to try to make the camera smoother, but it was becoming too much of a time sink.

The rotating camera is disorienting, but the concept is cool and the game is fun though a bit unforgiving

Developer(+1)

I was torn between having the camera follow the car versus RC car style controls with a fixed camera, but the controls become less intuitive.  I'm still not sure about the answer.

The concept is pretty good, I like the fact that you get faster each loop, at first I didn't notice so I crashed on the previous iteration A LOT, but once that clicked, it became quite interesting to play. Controls could be a bit better, but it's understandable, refining something like that in a very short amount off time is not easy. Good job with this one.

I’m sorry, officer, it came out of nowhere! It can make you a bit motion sick with the whole camera rotating, but fun enough to control.

Nice take on the idea, the game might be a bit hard at times if you play the intended way (I'm just bad at it tbh), but it controls very nicely and feels well polished!

Great game :)

This was really fun to play!

Interesting concept. I enjoyed it, the controls are intuitive and smooth. I think it will be fairer if colliding with the walls crashes the car as it otherwise allows for wall hugging to slow down. Or maybe a countdown timer would prevent players from abusing that too.

Developer

There was some debate about adding a timer or a pace car, but in the end, it felt hard enough even without that.  If you go slow on one lap, you have to deal with your slow self on the next one anyway.  The later levels experiment with some alternate solutions.

Very well executed. One of the stronger ones of this kind in the jam.

really fascinating game! I found it quite novel and enjoyable, it really twisted my brain to think about driving in a way that would leave a future path for me.
