I'm really happy a number of people have been inspired to start messing around with drawing due to the game. Because after all, it's fun, but it's a game. You have your fun, you come and go. But if you get the drawing bug, and keep tumbling down that hole, that can be a lifelong benefit. Maybe even a money maker at some point!
I like the scritchy scratchy texture on this too, feels very "illustration".
Yes a lots ^^ and I just don't know why only CS give me this feeling. I did try other RPG games either SFW or NSFW, they are good which some of them are really made my mind blow but still not enough for me to draw their contents. Eh it is fine to complain me cuz you are the boss here plus sometimes I am really noisy and naughty ngl. 😭
Someday, maybe. The probably-more-serious-than-you-were-looking-for answer is that merch involves a lot of time, effort, planning and outlay, even for something simple, so I've gotta be smart about how I do it, when/if I do it. Lot going on in my life too. Possibility after 3 is out and things calm down a bit though.
Also this is very cute.

scaled down gif version of an animation I did a while back, of my fave scene in Cruel Serenade 1 - finally got around to uploading!
Made a webm version with sound from the game files here: https://e621.net/posts/5629948
Is kinda half finished, like everything I draw (adhd), but I think it turned out all right ^w^
(also, slightly bigger gif here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61166504/)
Thanks :) Animation for sure can be tedious, but is well worth it to have a scenario you have in your head play out in front of your eyes!
Mhm, have really been enjoying the sound design aspect - found a bunch of unused sounds while getting them from the game files. Was just wondering if they were left over from a bunch of unused content, or if they were mostly just stock sounds that came with the development software?
Heh that lil wiggle is what I picture Mezz doing every time a Boar steps up behind him in that scene, showing them he's eager for it
The sounds come from a bunch of places. There are some stock things that just come with RPGMaker: the ZAP of the earclips is one of those. Then there's stuff I individually hunt down from various sites, sometimes tweaking a bit. And then, for GT, there's a project some people put together a few years ago called the OpenNSFW pack that has a ton of really useful odds and ends. I don't think any of that was used in CS 1 though.
Lest anyone ascribe too much meaning to "unused" sounds though, aside from the stock RPGMaker stuff, it's really just a case of me having a few different possibilities, tossing them into the folder to experiment with, and then using or not using depending on how well they work. Sometimes you think something will fit and it just doesn't for whatever reason. And then I never get around to deleting the unused stuff.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61400634/ didnt realize you had a fanart thread here till just now! hope you enjoy this lil thing i commissioned ^w^ artist is Clover on Bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/gummixfrog.bsky.social)
Nice! It's always interesting to seem different people's takes on the characters. I appreciate the time taken to get the chainsaw label right. Missed opportunity to not have some of his clothes peeking out of the trash though. Also, I tremble to think what these are going to look like by the time we get to Chapter 5 :D.
hehehe, by chapter 5 its gonna be like that couch meme, Mezz on the couch surrounded by every Boss from every game at once, each about to activate their individual hypno triggers on him >w<
so glad you liked! <3 <3 Clover did a lot of that themselves from the references i was able to get from the game, but you're so right about the clothing hanging out of the trash! but its a good idea for the next piece of fanart hehehe ~ 😈💕
thanks again! ^w^
Canonically they all hate each other and would have a big fight to see who comes out on top and makes everyone else their bitch. Non-canonically, so far with Boars and Hyenas, I'd say Mahir's conditioning, if fully set in, would end up being stronger. The ear clips are just a simple switch flipping between two modes, open mind and normal, and the boars don't even know how they work. The hyena conditioning is a highly purposeful and structured change to the subconscious, identity, world view etc.

Some Mezz jrawings I did a few days ago! I've done barely any Cruel Serenade stuff before but I've been following for ages, love the games!!
Was looking on e621 and UnsafeScapewolf did some pics of Mahir
Recently i played Clair obscure: expedition 33, and i like it a lot. So I thought "what if" a brave hero like Mezz will take part to an expedition to defeat the cruel paintress and save Lumier whit all his habitats from the "gommage".
Hope i did a good job, if you have any advice, you are welcome, I'm some what new to art and i wan to improve as much as possible.

Nice! And a pretty ambitious piece if you're just getting started! Love the adaptation of the outfit.
In terms of critique there are lots of little things, but nothing huge that stands out above the others. If I had to pick though, I'd say do some work/studies with the head, face, and expressions. In my experience it's by far the best bang for your buck when it comes to effort vs reward. Nowhere near as hard as nailing hands, general body stuff etc (though to be clear, the hands aren't too bad here), and you get a lot for the effort, because the face is what most people focus on. You can get away with a LOT of other sins in a piece if you nail the face, head, and expression.
Really do love the jacket though, even if it's heavily referenced from elsewhere (no idea, haven't played Clair Obscure) you still executed it very well on this particular figure and pose.
thank you for the advice, i start drawing on and off for about 3/4 years , but I focused on studying the figure, get the proportions right, natural angles etc. Never thought the expressions were so important, sure I will work on it.
About Clair Obscure, i really, REALLY recommend it , it's a little pricey ( 50 bucks ) but it worth every cent, a rare masterpiece from the music to the story, that game is incredible.
Was browsing through the art in this thread when I got the idea to make a tarot card for our tragic hero. Ultimately landed on The Fool as his card since it feels fitting to me. Love to watch Mezz stumble off the proverbial cliff I guess since we're controlling him as the player I kinda like shoving him off the cliff every time! Very much looking forward to the next chapter with its metaphorical cliff. Hope ya like it~!
Did some Halloween themed fanart with an alt.

Oh this is super cute, thank you so much! Usagi Yojimbo and fucking Biker Mice is such a great idea too, love it. Man, Biker Mice was a such a strange show. Never saw it on air, or saw any VHS back in the day. I mostly learned about it at first because the action figures would show up in garage sales in the 90s and I'd keep seeing them and wondering what on earth they were from. This is also, maybe intentionally, maybe unintentionally, oddly appropriate in a way, because as I've said Mezz and his whole setting is deliberately supposed to be somewhat 80s-90s adventure cartoon -esque.
Also, looking back, wow, you've improved a lot since the first one of these. You keep up this pace, you'll be better than me in a couple years!
Here's part one of the fan art I made of Mezz getting captured by the boars~
(link to FA: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/63235292/ )
You finished them! I honestly forgot they weren't complete; your "in progress" versions had a really neat inked look even at that stage. Glad to see them with color and shading though, there is some TEXTURE to these. Love it. And you draw a very cute Mezz! Thanks for taking the time to do art of the game, and two pieces at that! Much appreciated.
Also, while the boars wearing bondage harnesses certainly isn't canon, I love it here, and especially love that even the harnesses ALSO have the goofy shoulder spikes. Perfect.
