  • Great playability, I did not encounter any issues with the gameplay itself. The UI could use a bit more refinement, borders could help things feel more structured it just felt overall a bit chaotic/messy. I loved the varying expressions some of them were comical, but there were also hints of things potentially disconcerting. Which I thought was well done. As a fan of literature myself I enjoyed the narrative writing, the characters felt unique with there own personalities and that came across for me. I enjoyed the gameplay loop and actually feel a bit of an itch to play another scenario. Seems like a good format to be able to release more cases over time. I know you said the GDD was rushed but it included the important things, I would have liked to see a bit more expansion on the proposed art style. Great work and keep it up!

Summarize your game!
We created a visual novel with the RenPy engine that follows a private investigator. The catch, he has only ever said one phrase.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
As our first game, we played to the passions of two of our members: story writing and art. Since our protagonist can only say one phrase, we made certain truths of the world bend to what he says.

Loved the squiggly character art! Actually iconic. I think with more time I would try to match the UI design to that squiggly art!
