How does your game fit the theme?
The game is about delivering letters to the same town each day. The loop is the job!

didn't catch the theme, but art and gameplay is pretty simple and relaxing. good one! thanks.

The art is so good and cute, in fact the whole game was cute good job!!!

Nice execution! One thing that threw me off a bit was the camera — it felt a little choppy, and I started to feel a bit dizzy after a while.

Developer

That might be due to your browser. Hardware/graphics acceleration's gotta be enabled, or it'll run at about 10fps. Sorry it made you feel dizzy, but thank you for playing! <3

I liked using the map to navigate around town ! The timer was short enough to keep you on your toes while not being unfair, and I enjoyed the focus on trying to get the most efficient route ! The only thing I'd note is that the movement felt a bit too restrictive, but I understand that was probably intentional :) Cool game!

Developer(+1)

Yeah! I wanted retro feel, but I think deviating from tile-based movement might be the move for something faster-paced like this. Thank you  for playing!

I really like the concept : working for the post, collecting mail, dropping it off back at the office, repeat.

I think some tweaks could help make this more fun, I don't mean these in any way negatively, but just some thoughts I had while playing :

- the music is a little harsh, I think a gentler soundtrack would help emphasize the "chill" quality of the game, maybe a soundscape of local birds or something, or just a softer main theme

- I love the idea of having to figure out where an address is, I think it could be taken further by removing the indicator of where the player is on the map but adding more visual ques to the world itself i.e. street signs, building numbers, etc. Could be too tricky but I think it could work!

-I'd love if the main character was styled like a postman, maybe a blue uniform and little mailbag

- I actually really like the cross-walk feature, could be expanded: maybe the player can jay-walk but there are cars moving around on the roads that only stop for the player when they use a cross-walk

Well done, considering the short time-frame of the jam! I think with more time and some additional features this game would be really fun!

Developer

I really wanted to go the puzzle route with making the player find addresses based on a description of the building/description of the building's place in relation to something, or with actual signs, but I just didn't have the artistic bandwidth and unfortunately had to stick with my sprite sheet. Jaywalking was originally an idea, along with actual moving traffic, but just didn't have time and had to slim down my scope. Thank you for playing! :D

Really pretty art! I liked having to navigate using the map.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

I'm sorry to add more critique onto the pile (I know you're already aware of the issues with this game) but unfortunately it just wasn't very fun. I liked that there was some level of having to read the list + the map to actually figure out where you need to go, but once you reduce it to "walk along each street one by one" it just gets tedious to actually move around. I hope this doesn't dishearten you!

Developer

Oh yeah, haha, it is NOT fun. BUT, it is complete and mostly bug-free, so that's a win for something effectively made in two days. Not disheartened at all! Made something, didn't work out, but that's ok! I still made something. I definitely encourage you to check out some of my other work! It's MUCH more fun, haha.

Thank you for playing!

The vibes are immaculate, but definitely needed more "game".

Developer(+1)

I fully agree! I can happily say I won't be returning to this idea, but if I were to, it would take on a more rogue-like fashion with synergizing abilities and upgradable stats.

Submitted(+1)

This feels like a weak implementation of the theme, "LOOP", you do have a gameplay loop but that's about it...

The controls leave to be desired, the character does not process the input probably because of the tile aspect of the game...

The music and sfx are fine.

The game play, regardless of the theme, is also a bit shallow...

Better luck next time, good job still.

Developer

Yeah, it ain't great, but it's complete. I full sent an idea that seemed cool in theory, but in practice (and in a 2 day time frame), couldn't be made into anything substantial. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

AHHH LET ME JAYWALK! Had a good time with this one! I can see you've spent a lot of time building out this town.

Developer

Thank you for playing! BY FAR, a majority of time went into tilemapping.. it's SO DANG TEDIOUS and the whole time I was wishing I could've worked on programming, haha! It did turn out fine visually, though, so I am happy with that!

Submitted(+1)

I like the concept! It's easy to understand and simple to play, I would just recommend putting a home button so players can remind themselves how to play. Overall, great job!

Developer(+1)

That's something I wanted to implement, but didn't have time for. Thank you for playing!

I like the feel which you try to find whick mailbox it is at the first time. Pretty neat experience!

Thank you for playing!

Hi! I really like the idea, maybe I would have add some boosters or a bit more velocity, and a bit more life to the scenario, but cool concept!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I think a roguelike direction would benefit this game! Something with upgradable stats, for sure!

very nice map and the ui is great :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! YOUR SUBMISSION IS INSANE. WHO'S GONNA CARRY THE LOOP?!

Submitted

thank you! :) hoped you carried your loops!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game and concept, i would have loved if i could move diagonally :)

Developer

Thank you! I wanted traditional tile-based movement, but I think an expanded version of this game would play more like a rogue like, with abilities, upgrades, and generally better movement. In that case, there would be no tile constraints! However, I think I can confidently part with this game idea as gameplay-wise, I’m not super stoked with the end result, haha!

Submitted(+1)

hm apart from the visuals everyhting falls off, you have no map indicator no 'deliveries to make' counter. it becomes more of a walking simualtor

Developer

it definitely isn’t my best piece of work, but it’s a complete game made in roughly 2 days (joined late!), so I’m happy with it!

There is a map and a delivery list! Pressing <tab> should pull it up for you!

Fun concept, but finding the houses was a tad confusing, since there aren't any indicators of which number corresponds to which house. That's part of the challenge, I guess!

Developer

Yeah, I considered putting indicators on the map, but wasn't sure with this one. I think the concept itself is generally lacking, but I'm happy with it for a 3 day entry. Thanks for playing! <3

I really liked your game! It felt good to play, and it was fun finding out where all of the mailboxes and houses were. It was also really cool to try and memorize the house placements to speed up delivery. I enjoyed the art style and it was very fun. It would also mean a lot if you could review my game. This is my first game jam.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! I'll happily play yours when I have some time to sit down and play through submissions :) Congrats on your first jam!

Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy it!
