OMG. the art is amazing. animation is cool.
It took me a while to realized that explosion can propel us forward. Thumbs up
thank you so much! yes, we noticed a pattern on the comments so tried to make a nice gif tutorial and added it as screenshots. thank u for persisting despite it!
That was unique! Took me a hot minute to get the hang of it but I got there haha. Wish there was audio :p
there def is a learning curve, but thank u for staying with it! yes sound and a funky soundtrack are top of the list of things to add
Super creative mechanic, although it took me a bit to understand how to use the pulse. and I am in love with the art and shader!!!! I think the levels could be a bit more easier or have a hint
thank you for your kinds words! yeah we wanted to add a proper tutorial but time was an issue, and also the order or levels definitely will be changed to help guide the player through the controls and movement.
It took me a while to understand the pulse mechanic, but the game is great and super fun to play! I love the visual style and animation!
thank u <3
Took a while for me to get the hang of the core mechanics, but really loved it.
The art and overall aesthetic is fantastic and played a big part in my sticking with and wanting to keep on progressing.
Very creative overall.
thank u so much! your words mean a lot to us, thank u for sharing your experience, your feedback is useful to help us make the game better.
The visuals of this game are incredible, using real objects gives it a really unique texture you don't often find in games and it was 100% worth it. I really love the instruction manual in particular, and the framing of the game being on a TV with a real remote is fantastic.
The first room is actually really difficult, I had to consult the gameplay gifs to realize learn how I needed to progress. I think I would make the first puzzle needing to reposition a box to get up on a ledge. Launching the player character is a pretty tricky maneuver for the first screen, and having a box would make what you need to do a little more obvious.
I think the single thing that would improve this game most is adding sound effects. Your visual presentation is top notch, now you need some audio. For you next game I'd like to challenge you to try to get sound effects in early even if they're just placeholder beeps and will be replaced later. As you're making a feature if you feel like eventually a sound would go here throw a generic sound in asap. Sound is the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to game feel and is the one thing that will improve how fun your game is the most. A generic sound that isn't perfect is often better than no sound at all, and adding placeholder sounds to be replaced later is much easier to do than trying to totally go back and do all sound implementation at once.
Wonderful job I can't wait to see more!
Thanks a lot for the carefully thought out, extremely useful feedback! Having some generic sounds ready to go as preparation for the jam is an INCREDIBLE idea that would have given us at least a place to start and we will totally do that in the future.
As for the puzzles, they're just in the order that I thought of them as proof-of-concept for the mechanics, and being so inexperienced, I spent so much time just putting them together piece by piece that by the time we had only a measly 5 puzzles it was pretty much submission time. Definitely at least reordering them might have been worth the extra little bit of time, and certainly in an ideal world we'd also have some levels that deconstruct the puzzles we have currently and build up to them.
Thanks again for giving it such a thoughtful response and even just your time playing it!
This is such a generous and thoughtful reply – thanks so much for the advice and encouragement.

I love your art style. even without audio, you could hear the sound effects because it's such great art. I got slimed and don't really know if that was the end, but I really enjoyed the Looping mechanic of boosting yourself up. It has some pretty cool movement tech
It was, and you're slimed for all time now my friend.
Thanks for the kind words and for giving it your time! Stoked you enjoyed it
Excited to see what else you can create!
really liked the art style and the gameplay was super creative as well!
best of wishes to your success : ))
thank u!!! you are so kind <3
Took a little while to get the hang of the mechanics, but then it all clicked and felt quite satisfying! Really nice job, well done!
yes! it takes a bit of frustration for the satisfaction to hit hehe! thank u for taking the time to get there
You must have spent a while on the art here! Very clean and polished! Nice work!
Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!
thank you! and yes lots of lost sleep and hand cramps were involved in the making of art
Lol same
The idea of TV effect reminds me of balatro, the art was great, also it would be good it there were sound effects, but no problem. Also your page looks so well designed.
thank you so much <3 sound will come in future updates
Hey, before I rate, could you tell me if there is audio and I have it bugged or is there no music/sfx?
Unfortunately audio didn't make it into the game in time :( But thanks for checking and playing!
Ahh, shame. Wanted to make sure that I don't rate it unfairly.
I enjoyed the game but I have to agree with previous comments that it was hard to grasp what to do until I saw the gifs (which are awesome and super informative). If they would be included in the game it would be great.
The overall atmosphere and aesthetics are so good that I almost can hear the game despite the lack of music, absolute top notch in that aspect.
Great art style! Fun puzzle-platformer mechanic. Would have loved WASD as an option for input.
thank u for your input! noted ;)
Amazing visuals! I had no idea what to do in the beginning, and it really needed a tutorial in my opinion. It's a cool idea with having to explode yourself to progress. It could use some audio. Overall pretty cool!
all valid points! thank u for your feedback!
Super cool visuals and nice puzzles! I'm not sure if its just me or not but the lack of audio is a bit jarring and the game would've been super cool with some! Also not sure if I got to the end or not but I wasn't sure what to do against the giant monster and then it turned into a tv! Some tutorials would've been useful as well, but I eventually figured it out through the gifs.
Thank you for taking the time and trying our game out! tutorial level and funky music and effects are top of our to do list for a post jam game. and yes being slimed is the end of this version of the game, tbc... :o
Great visuals!
thank u <3
great idea! love it

Great idea and great style. I would never have thought of something like that. Maybe I would make it a little more permissive in certain sections. Nice work.
thank u for your feedback! if u dont mind sharing what sections u would like to be more permissive so we can take it into account for future releases
Great visuals. Creative idea. I struggled until seeing the instructional gifs though. Would benefit with some in-built tutorial levels or something. Impressive work overall!
thank u for going back and checking the gifs! and yes we agree hehe
Bonus points for having the green ranger
and damn good cup of coffee!
