This is a really cool concept and actually a very unique one. I don't think I see anything like this during the jam. If you polish it up I think you might have a really good game to publish. I know som eof these things were probably left out because of lack of time during the jam, but anyways, some suggestsions:
But very nicly done, good job!
A day/night cycle indicator is high on the list to make. And sound is what I'm actively working on. I'm glad you figured out how to coil up before jumping I'll have to think about how I can make it obvious...
Anyways thank you for playing!!
The monsters were creepy. Having no audio was a bit perturbing. I liked how big the world was and having to grow the snake to reach new locations almost gives it a metroidvania feeling.
Thanks or playing man!
The first thing that struck me with this game is the visual design. The pixel art for the environment and UI looks great, and the snake and the monster are especially impressive. The procedural animations with a pixelated design made for something really special. Great work!
Thanks man!! I appreciate that!
The movement was extremely satisfying and the idea has alot of potential!
Thank you!
Definitely one of my new favorites in this jam. The snake is actually so cute and the horror that prowls during the night threw me for such a loop. I'd love to see some sort of progression or resource management whereby rabbits would reproduce over time and overhunting would inevitably cause you to fail. Really great submission, I'm glad you commented on my game and brought yours to my attention. Great job man.
Oooh! I'm getting so much feedback and thoughts and ideas, sifting through it all will be hard! Currently you just can't eat more if you're full, but maybe I could make it so that overeating would make you heavier and it would be harder to get around... I will be thinking about this! Thank you for your comment!
Really impressed by this! Loved the concept, and the snake mechanics and superb art both felt very polished. I'd have loved some sound effects to give it more atmosphere, and maybe for it to be more forgiving when you fall - it felt like it got very hard very quickly after 3 or 4 nights.
I will have to fix that... It is a little easier in the updated version. But thanks for your comment and for playin' it!
I liked that you have to coil and go down then jump up to get more height. It got a little bit repetitive, since I had to go back to the same tree and for some reason the monster stopped showing up after 3 nights. Besides those issues, this was a really cool and novel idea!
Thanks for playing! Not sure why the monster left... That's a new one...
The bark monster was absolutely terrifying and the procedural animation so cool! I loved how as I got larger, I was able to reach new places, but it was maybe a bit too difficult to get back up to my tree!
Many people have mentioned this. I did make it a little bit easier in the patched version on my profile.
Thanks for playing!
Very creative controls, I loved it! But I kept falling down :D I wish there was a way to make climbing back up a bit easier.
There is! You eat and get big and then you can get around a LOT better.
I particularly enjoyed the art in this game, it almost feels like terraria! There were a few bugs and softlocks as comments before mentioned, but considering this was made in just 4 days all of that can be forgiven. I love the snakes goofy movement and was not expecting the night creature lol. I'll play the patched version!
Thanks for your time! Yes the patched version isn't laggy and is a little easier.
I am unable to play your game as I am not on windows :/ but it looks fun!
LOL it is hilarious to see your familiar comment here after seeing it on so many other games. You can play my game in the browser if you go to my profile then come back here to rate it and leave feedback.
sorry if it feels like spam, I'm trying to rate and comment on all the games of people that played mine, but there is a lot of windows only games...
Thank you! I didn't realize there was a web version on your profile.
I've just finished playing it, and I'm glad I did. The atmosphere is nice, and I loved the rain world style. I have to say, as someone with arachnophobia, the bark monster is absolutely terrifying. Amazing work on the game. I've left a rating!
Thanks man! It doesn't feel like spam it's GOOD I'm glad you're doing it cause people need to know to make either a web version or a mac version. I didn't have time but normally I do all three. Thanks again for givin' it a go!
Fun game with some sssssserious grinding! Everything went well until I started venturing downwards x) I thought that maybe if I went deep enough I would loop around to the top. I think you nailed the controls and the art! well done 𓆗
Thank you for checkin' it out! And you've just given me an AWESOME idea! I might make the world loop... That would be epic! Thank you so much!
Playing as a snake is fun, but it is really easy to softlock yoursef by being unable to go back to the tree (you drop down and you aren't long enough to crawl your way back up). Also, I never played Rain World but your game gives the same major vibes.
Thank you so much! Yeh you have to be careful about dropping down. The new version on my profile is a little bit easier.
A charming little game. Reminded me of rain world. The visuals were really nice
and its design was quite something.Keep up the good work!
Thank you man! I really appreciate that!
although ive seen this theme a lot, you really made the world building something special!
Really? i thought it was quite unique... Thanks for the play!
your game is very original, just the use of loop as a life cycle part is what i meant
Ah okay I see
The monster was a surprise, i like snake movement it's funny, the shaders very neat, but sadly the game becomes unbearably slow after four cycle or so, what a shame
Yes that is fixed if you go to the other version on my profile. I was being dumb with spawning blood particles and not despawning them lol
Oh wow, that was such a cute game and snake! except for the night thingy, that was terrifying :D
Thanks for playing!!
I really like the spooky scary monsters, that was super unexpected and scary. I like the premise and the way the snake moves, also the goats are absolutely adorable <3
Thank you!
The spooky monster was out to get me... I really liked how the standing up to jumping felt :) Pretty fun to jump around and just manage to cling to the side a couple of times. Great job! -Kaylee
Thank you for playing!
That monster is creepy as hell! I love the artwork, and the concept, but after a couple plays I was stuck on night-time, and never saw day come around again. Ate 2 bunnies, went into hole, just sat there waiting for the daylight that never came. Still, solid work, and great submission!
You have to eat more and more the bigger you get. The message on screen is misleading as it is broken and never goes away. But yeah you prolly were at the point of needing to eat 3 bunnies but the message was broken.
Thanks so much for playing!
