How does your game fit the theme?
As a parent of four kids, I often feel like my daily life is a "loop" of laundry, cooking, chores, reading stories, etc. I thought it would be fun to make a roguelike out of that concept.

Really cute way to incorporate your family into this, I think it's a fun idea!

Nice game about parenting, I hope that life isn't as hard as this game shows. :)

I would be an utterly terrible parent it would seem, but real creative way to handle it! The earplugs upgrade is essential

struggle a bit trying to have sanity in the beginning to buy a upgrade in the beginning, was surprised but how quickly things can get out of hand on the first day. You can definitely feel the parenting loop that is going on here. Overall I think the concept is interesting but first day might be to rough, maybe have a progression of tasks as time goes on instead of having it happen all on the same day so they can get used to the tasks as they are introduced.

I don't want to tell that child a story anymore!!

Crazy game yo

I think its a funny game, I feel like some of the sprites don't feel like they belong. I don't think a parenting sim is the best game to making seeing how its like "No I can't read you a story, or make you food, etc" xD

This is a hilarious concept and the voice acting is peak asf. Turning a parents life into a roguelike is a really charming idea. Maybe I was misinputting but I found the interact key to be a little buggy. Regardless, was very enjoyed!

I absolutely LOVE this concept! :D And the voice acting is top tier! Added so much. I love the humor throughout all of it! :D ;D ("I got finger nail polish all over my dress." :O Hahahaha).

Took me a sec to figure out how to cook, but then I figured it out, and wow. Takes almost all day to cook. Pretty realistic actually. LOL.

I do wish the walk speed was a tad faster. Having all these kids yelling for you, and you just casually pace from one side to the other felt aggravating. haha. Maybe a run button at least. :P So I could feel the frantic-ness. Maybe this parent felt more chill than I did. lol. (I do think players want to feel some sense of a slight 'win', even if it's meant to be almost impossible or frustrating... but having it feel achievable would help that. Right now, it feels like the game is forcing me to lose, and I don't have a sense of urgency to help).

If this game had a 'relaxing' category, it would get -1.

Never have I felt like such an inadequate parent. 11/10

Thank you for your kind review! There is an upgrade to go faster, but I agree that the speed in the beginning is super slow.

It's interesting seeing other people's experiences: my hope was that Days 1 & 2 would feel strained (but you could buy at least one upgrade), Days 3-5 would feel balanced, and then by Day 6 & 7 you're cruising. I think some people felt that arc, but not others. Balance is hard in a game jam and seeing all the comments really help inform how I can tweak this in the future.

This was such a sweet and chaotic little experience! I loved the voice acting—it brought so much personality and charm to the game

What a cute fun and charming game!

The premise was hilarious, and your children did a great job with the voice acting! For the difficulty pacing I think it would be nice if you made it so the first day is the easiest and make each day harder than the last. This way the start wouldn’t be quite as brutal and unforgiving, and you’ll have more of a reason to buy upgrades to keep up. Right now the start is insanely hard and then it just gets easier - although that might be a fitting metaphor for parenthood. :D

Here’s my final score:

I'll be blunt- I can't say this clicked with me at all. Sanity upkeep felt impossible, and the time limit on each day was extremely limiting- there was only barely time to do laundry if I focused entirely on it, and heavens forbid trying to cook at the same time. Probably just serves to make this more realistic to the real experience, though. Judging by the other comments, it might've been a me issue, but it was an issue nevertheless.

Very cute thematically. I appreciate the reminder that sometimes a game dev is also a father of four.
